We had a fantastic stay at Melograno! The place is located in the centre of Matera which was very convenient for my elderly parents. The accommodation has an amazing view of Matera, is beautifully decorated and it is exactly how is shown on the photos. Anna is a great host very responsive and helpful. I would recommend this place 100%. Francesca

A wonderful Sassi experience. Staying in a cave equipped with modern facilities was a valuable experience and my kids loved it. Tiziana and her parents are approachable and gave us useful information on check-in and sight seeing spots. Highly recommended.

Linda's place was amazing - it has the most 'personality' of any Air B&B that I have stayed in. As soon as we sent our friends some photos - they were all saying "wow"... I really appreciated Linda giving me some handy hints on where to park our hire car and was glad when she helped me work out how to get her to her place. The mistake we made was relying on the maps link which was not accurate. I know understand that Maps are hard to use in places that are as steep as Matera. Matera was so quiet just before Christmas that we were concerned that nothing was open for dinner. This was our mistake - once 7:30/ 8pm hit, there were many amazing places to eat at. We have recommended Linda's place to some of our friends who now kow about Matera as it is not a usual place on the tourist map for a lot of Aussies doing their whirlwind trips to the other side of the world!

La corte dei cavalieri è davvero un gioiellino: una casa sasso nel Sasso Caveoso a pochi metri dal centro, da ristoranti e negozietti deliziosi, relax e pace in un luogo che sembra fermo nel tempo, molto emozionante davvero.

L’appartamento è posizionato ottimamente perché è vicino sia al parcheggio sia alle piazze principali del centro ed é molto confortevole, accogliente e arioso. Allo stesso tempo si trova su una strada senza eccessivo passaggio di visitatori. L’esperienza di dormire in un Sasso è stata unica, qualcosa che ricorderemo!

Staying in this cave in Matera was an absolute highlight of our trip! The location is unbeatable – nestled right under a church, with easy access to everything the town has to offer, yet so peaceful and tranquil. The cave itself is incredibly charming, with all the comfort and character you could want. It’s such a unique place to stay and made our time in Matera unforgettable. Our hosts were wonderful, providing us with everything we needed and more. We couldn’t recommend this spot more – it’s a perfect blend of location, comfort, and character. A truly special experience!

What a special way to spend a night in Matera. The experience of sleeping in a cave room was so unique and typical of this city’s historic importance. The in-room bath was an extra highlight. From booking through to check-out, all our needs were met and exceeded, especially the assistance and information pre-arrival to ensure we could access the accomodation on foot within the walls of the city. A special thank you and commendation to Dominica for her amazing knowledge, visitor information and friendly assistance during our stay - it made the experience all the more enjoyable and memorable. Grazie mille and we would love to return again, next time for a longer stay!

wow, this stay was absolutely incredible! we started this trip with Walter personally coming to pick us up and taking us to the airbnb and we're immediately greeted by Dominica, who was one of the most amazing people we have ever met! she went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure our stay was magical! from giving us direct directions to travel through the wonderful city, to amazing food recommendations and booking the restraunts we wanted to try, to just being warm and friendly! Not only was this city magical, this is the best airbnb we have ever been too not just because or the historical, beautiful room we stayed in but because of Dominica! We will be back and we cannot wait!

What more could we have asked for in a romantic weekend getaway?! Marilisa and Raffaele are amazing hosts who had everything prepared for our arrival. They were extremely helpful and attentive to our needs and wants. Located about 30 minutes away from Matera and about 50 minutes from Taranto, Laterza is the perfect mid point for a mountain/beach weekend. If you don’t want to travel much outside the area, Laterza itself is a beautiful city to soak in as well. All in all, we had a wonderful stay and will definitely stay here again!!!

A beautiful unique place to stay. Ideal location for visiting the city. The view just out the front of the room is one of the best of the city. The room itself is amazing. The bed is super comfy and good bed linen. We slept very well. No noise from outside. The massive bath is so relaxing to laze in at the end of the day wandering the city paths and many steps. There is water and coffee provided daily which is very much appreciated, the coffee machine is great. Shampoo and body wash also replenished daily. The room is very clean.. the temperature inside the room when we visited in March was perfect. Communication with the owners was excellent.. very quick to respond. We loved our time here and already miss it, thank you.

Tuve la enorme suerte de hospedarme en el Casale di Maria en Matera y de tener a Domenica como host. El lugar no solo es INCREÍBLE, es una experiencia ÚNICA alojarse allí, es súper cómodo, amplio y bellísimo, también te brindan todas las atenciones que necesitas (incluido un café delicioso) pero realmente la atención de Domenica hizo que mi viaje a Matera fuera un 10.🌟 Me dio recomendaciones locales y me ayudó incluso a llegar a Matera. ¡Espero poder volver!

Ich hatte einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt bei Guido und Margarita: die urige und zentral gelegene Unterkunft Ist sehr schön und gut durchdacht eingerichtet und lässt keine Wünsche offen. Das große Bett ist superbequem! Besonders gut gefallen haben mir die vielen Haken an der Wand zum Aufhängen von Kleidungsstücken. Das Gärtchen vor der Tür sowie die Gemeinschaftsküche, die super gut eingerichtet ist, bieten noch einmal zusätzliches Sitzplätze. Noch einmal herzlichen Dank an Guido, der mich vom Bahnhof abgeholt und zur Bushaltestelle mit dem Auto gebracht hat. Ich kann diese Unterkunft nur wärmstens empfehlen.

Location da paura al centro di Matera, apri la porta e ti trovi una delle chiese principali a destra e una magnifica vista dei sassi a sinistra, se mai tornerò a Matera sarà di sicuro l unica stanza che vorrò, l’host super cordiale e accomodante, lo consiglio senza ombra di dubbio.
