Villa vacation rentals in Matara

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Noumi, the staff were friendly, kind and responsive. We were welcomed with cold towels, juice and a fruit basket (5 star welcome). The villa itself was very clean, the photos are accurate! The breakfast and dinner we had in the villa were wonderful. The kids were well catered for with a massive box of lego and some toys/card games which were well used after beautiful morning swims at secret beach. Overall I would recommend this place to families or a few couples or even friends. Well located and a short tuk tuk ride or short walk into town and the beach. Thanks for having us!

Wow just wow! From the moment we made contact with Eranga we were so well looked after. Even before we got to the wonderful house we were had our transport organised to take our family of 5 from Colombo Airport to the AirBNB we were then helped with settling in and greeted with coconuts. Whether it was hire cars, recommendations for activities such as releasing baby turtles into the ocean Eranga was our guy! The house itself has everything you need and is spacious clean and tidy thanks to daily visits from lovely helpers around the house and garden. Air Conditioning is amazing and works really well. The ocean is steps away from the house which is situated in a surfers area. Make sure you visit the Sandbank restaurant for well priced food, music and Thursday night ping pong tournament. Peacocks running in the garden and the friendliest dog ever. We loved this place and would return in a heartbeat! Thank you for making our Sri Lanka trip so memorable. Just amazing!

super nice place to have for yourself. Take time to yourself while being close to the center of both Weligama and Mirissa. Both are easy to reach with a tuktuk or bus within 10 min. Sahan was super friendly and also his father helped us to all our wishes. The house was clean and atmospheric. The rooms were spacious, the pool was great and was cleaned every day.

We spent four days at Villa Sõmar and are completely satisfied. The villa is spacious, very clean and exactly as described. In the morning, there is a delicious breakfast served by two very nice employees. The Sri Lankan banana pancakes are highly recommended. Furthermore, before arrival you get a very detailed message in which, among other things, there are many restaurant recommendations, beaches nearby and even numbers of two tuk tuk drivers. The location is fine and you can reach everything by tuk tuk or scooter. All in all, we enjoyed our stay very much and would come back any time.

We had a lovely stay at Kocoon Villa, it was really great value and in a great location about 10 minute walk from the beach. Madiha is a hidden gem with lots of local cafes and a peaceful vibe. Leo and his girlfriend were wonderful and super kind, especially with recommendations for nearby Mirissa. We don’t surf but I’m sure they’d help you out if you do! It’s not described but they do live upstairs and the apartment is on the ground floor. Only downside was not having hot water - I think the new pump is already on order though and the weather is amazing so there are worse places to have a refreshing shower!

Priyanthi’s place was absolutely perfect for our stay in Hiriketiya! It was exactly as described, very modern and we were greeted with fresh coconuts and flowers on arrival which made us feel so special and welcome! We had beautiful hospitality & service from Priyanthi’s son who was always on hand to help us with anything we needed and provided lovely, authentic breakfast in the mornings. We would highly recommend this place to anyone staying in the area! Thank you so much to Priyanthi & family for a lovely stay - we will be back! :)

What can I say? The days at the accommodation were perfect. My wife and I have traveled through 74 countries and stayed in some top class Airbnbs, this was the best so far because the overall package was right. Quiet and private location, super well maintained, the pool was bigger than it looked in the photos, the location was perfect between Midigama and Ahangama, everything was within a few minutes reach. Our children more than enjoyed the large garden to play in. But now we come to the absolute highlight, which made us feel like home. Special thanks goes to the chef Prabod, who provided us with delicious food every day and read every wish from our lips. We would also like to thank Shantha and Nishante, who looked after our safety, the cleaning and the garden. All three of them took great care of our children and were always ready to have fun. Thanks to you three, we have taken Sri Lanka to our hearts and have made friends on the other side of the world. Thank you guys.

What can I say, but.....wow! we had 5 kids and 4 adults on our holiday and this house could not have been more perfect. The amazing breakfasts every morning, teh huge pool, teh cleaning service done beautifully each day. wow. wow. wow. loved it all. Thank you!

Clare’s place was everything & more than what we were expecting. The villa is absolutely beautiful, set in the most peaceful & tranquil surroundings. Nuwan’s cooking and hosting was the cherry on the top of our experience. Tushara also really looked after us. We were able to organise 3 private yoga classes & a massage - personal highlights of my stay at the villa. All of the above meant that whenever we left the villa, we wanted to get back straight away to our private paradise even though Ahangama is a great area to visit. Highly recommend staying and experiencing the beauty of Villa Sisila!!

An amazing stay - as a group of 10 girls we always felt safe and like it was our home (we wish it was), the staff are incredible - some of the most kind, friendly, caring and thoughtful people we have ever met. The villa was clean, comfortable and exceeded all our expectations. Upon arrival our jaws were on the floor with how amazing the property is - we never wanted to leave. The house had lots of difference spaces so we could all come together but also have some peace and quiet if we wished. We enjoyed the home cooked meals on multiple occasions and it was absolutely divine. The staff also went above and beyond if we ever had requests such as picking stuff up if we needed and providing recommendations for sightseeing and activities in Sri Lanka. We all agree we would love to come back and will cherish these memories forever.

Fantastic stay at Talaramba Reef! We had a large family gathering for 3 nights (9 adults and 5 children) and booked both villas. The villas were beautiful, thoughtfully decorated, very comfortable, with lovely and immaculately kept grounds. The place was very spacious and it felt very relaxing, and the pools were very pleasant. Ranjith and his team were incredible. They were kind, friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had a memorable stay, including helping to organize a party and putting up a lovely banner. The food was also exceptional and great value for money. We cannot recommend this place enough!

We stayed in Hiriketiya for a few days in early April and had an amazing time in the area. Siri the housekeeper really made our stay, he was amazing helping us with any house questions we had as well as giving us recommendations in the area and telling us fun facts about Hiriketiya.

This is one of the best villas we’ve ever stayed in - it’s beautifully designed, has an incredible view and is very private and the staff are fantastic. It was the best food we’ve eaten in Sri Lanka, thank you! 🙏

There is a definite wow factor on arrival at this beautifully styled tropical villa. The two main bedrooms are enormous with great bathrooms and make for a great stay. The downstairs are is nice to hang out in, though hot in a very hot April in SriLanka - opening doors and windows helped and there is a great small but deep pool to cool off in as often as needed. The outdoor area is nicely shaded in the afternoon. Noisy monkeys on the roof at times but that is to be expected everywhere in this area. It is a short walk to everything the area has to offer, including both HIRIKITIYA and DIKWELLA beaches, and lots of cafes and restaurants. Duni’s Hoppers and Salt cafe are a short walk and both highly recommended. The property manager Pasindu was welcoming and responsive as was all communication with the host, Martin. A great place to stay in a magical part of the world

Sahan’s beautiful airbnb is a little gem in Weligama. I would 100% recommend. He greeted us at check in and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. The place itself and the pool especially are absolutely gorgeous! The perfect location for a little retreat. Thanks Sahan!

FireMoonGarden is not just a villa, but a whole experience. And I'm sure you won't find anything better around Mirissa. Staying here ended up being one of the highlights of our Sri Lanka trip. Absolutely flawless. I would highly recommend staying here if you're looking for something a little more special.

2nd time we’ve stayed at the apartment, but first while Andy has owned it. Andy has improved the place greatly and all works well and comfortable. 5 min walk to Hiri beach and 10 Dickwella beach. Perfect for various restaurants. Would certainly go back.

We had a fantastic time with our family at villa Salina. It is really recommended to celebrate your vacation in this house. Everyone was waiting for us. We had a fantastic meal. Wonderful swimming.

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely house in Mirissa! The home was very clean and comfortable, with excellent air conditioning in the bedrooms to escape the heat. The living areas were cooled by ceiling fans, and the windows in the stairwell were open to the outside. The hosts were incredibly attentive—each morning they came to prepare a delicious breakfast for us. There was also the option to have our rooms cleaned daily, which was a nice touch. The pool, while small, was perfect for cooling off and the kids absolutely loved it. It made a great spot to relax after a day out exploring. There are a couple of fantastic local restaurants within walking distance, which made dining out easy and enjoyable. Accessing the beach was a bit tricky as you need to walk through private properties, but that seems to be common along this part of the coast. Overall, a relaxing and well-hosted stay—highly recommended!

We just got back from almost 2 weeks at Awimbawei. It’s a great stay out of the “touristy” beachside stop in Ahngama but close enough that it’s a 5-7 min tuk to get into town. The villa is lovely and spacious and is surrounded with green lush tropical plants. The bathrooms and living spaces are also wonderfully and tastefully furnished with strong AC in the bedrooms for a comfortable nights sleep. We loved being able to watch the monkeys and wildlife in the areas surrounding the villa while having a swim in the pool or a read in the garden. Our kids loved the stay too and it’s indeed child friendly with really nice touches in the kids room with books and toys for them to read on rainy days. We loved the stay and hopefully it’ll be available to stay in future.
