Waterfront vacation rentals in Matara

A large manor with a very unique and beautiful environment. There are coconut groves, mango trees, and starfruit trees... The location is also very good. It's right next to the beach. The service is very welcoming. It feels like home. It's also very personalized. Because we came back late from whale watching, they gave us a house to check out late. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough time to stay at the hotel and enjoy such a beautiful environment. I highly recommend it.

Great Location in the Center of town, close to the Beach! Super Communication and very Nice room with a Little kitchen! I was in the 3d floor, nice view. Will come back if there!

PERFECT !!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Sahan and family are so lovely and greeted us with a coconut each on arrival. Throughout our stay they have been so friendly and even invited us to their family meals but sadly we already had plans with family visiting us so couldn’t attend. The location is wonderful, right opposite the beach and in the heart of Madiha close to everything. The decor and cleanliness of the property was a 10/10. The listed amenities and property description is spot on and we were not disappointed. We really wanted to extend as we loved it so much but unfortunately it was already booked up so we have arranged to come back next season to see them & stay again!Thank you so much, we can’t wait to come back again :)

We had a great time here! Close to beautiful beaches, a range of restaurants and cafes, about a 10 min walk to Hiriketiya beach. The place was spacious and all we needed for a 4 night stay. Big bathroom, and a 10 liter box of water included, a kettle and a small fridge. We only met the host brightly for check in, but he responded quickly if we texted him. Would recommend this place!

Dulshan and Lisa's vacation rental is a very cool flat with a very high design. It seems to have just been completed, so everything is new and clean, which surprised me. It was very comfortable, so I extended my stay longer. The location is also perfect, just 1-2 minutes from Hiriketiya beach. There are many restaurants, cafes, grocery stores and liquor stores around the vacation rental, so it's perfect. The Hiriketiya surf break is just around the corner that perfect lefthander peel off from the cape. Dulshan and Lisa are very quick to respond to messages, so any problems you have can be resolved instantly. Hiriketiya is an up-and-coming beach resort that can be enjoyed by all ages and genders.

Very nice place to lie comfortably on the beach and relax. The surf school next door is also highly recommended. Here you can combine relaxation and action. The place was clean, the breakfast (buffet) delicious and the team on site very kind and helpful. Highly recommend😊

This suite was so much better than we expected. We booked through air bnb as seemed safer than booking direct and so glad we did. Ulrike gave us all the information we needed for a smoothness stay and was able to step in and help when we needed it. The apartment is amazingly well set up and so big! We have 3 kids and they were able to provide an extra bed the same size as the first two. It’s not obvious how great the location is but it’s literally right on the beach. We went often to a restaurant nearby called Sana which we absolutely loved, then walked down to the beach to enjoy the campfires down there afterwards. 100% recommend staying here.

We had a lovely time at Luca's place. The house has everything you need for a great rest. You can observe the few animals that roam freely in the garden. The pool is a big plus in the heat of Sri Lanka. The house is incredibly clean and the people who work there are very nice. Nimesh will help you with any questions you may have, you can contact them anytime. He took us to exchange money, showed us where the best places to dine were and arranged all the excursions for us. He also took care of our trip and picked us up from the airport. Throughout, we were able to enjoy the wonderful dinners prepared by Nirosha including an excellent seafood barbecue. The house is in a very good location: only a short walk to the beach and all the restaurants/shops. Feel free to book your stay in this house, it's a real little paradise.

it was a nice location, I was blown away by the temple near the house, I would recommend visiting for sure, and it's close to Hiriketiya beach

an excellent property, just as good as the photos. watching the sun go down over the water from the Infiniti pool each evening was a dream. all rooms are large and spacious. the all glass construction maximizes the beautiful views from every part of the property. the on site staff were very helpful and attentive. with the property being large and elevated, it was one of the few locations we were able to play music loud on the large speaker we brought, both indoors and outdoors, whenever we wanted without having to worry about disturbing neighbors too much which was great. the only negative is with all that glass the building can become a bit of a greenhouse in the hot sri lankan sun. A/C is sufficient in the bedrooms but it can get a bit uncomfortably hot in the main living room in the afternoons even with the A/C on max all day. Dinesh informed us they are working on adding additional A/C. In all, a fantastic stay, would definitely stay again, especially great for large groups.

Amazing location, old style house with amazing garden and beach. Perfect to rest and to surf. The couple that takes care of the house is very frendly and if you ask they cook for you some amazing local food.

Wonderful stay and the property was amazing with access to the beach right outside the back gate. Couldn’t recommend enough!

Villa vador is a a very special place, quiet and peaceful except for the lizards and monkeys… we took young children and it was very comfortable and Sasun and his team were very helpful.

This apartment is a great find. The property is newly done. The amenities were as described. It’s in the middle of a busy market but still very isolated. The beach is right in front of the property and you can walk to the beach anytime. Hiriketiya Beach is also 5-7 mins by Tuk Tuk and those are easily available behind the property. The sunrise and sunset views are spectacular. Only downside is the steep staircase but if you don’t have a heavy suitcase then nothing to worry. If you do, the caretaker Thejan will help you take your luggage upstairs. Our stay was peaceful and we will recommend this place. Thejan the caretaker was extremely helpful.

Asanka was a great host. He was super helpful, from the moment he picked us up from the train station. He showed us his city, and clearly explained everything about his apartment. The house is spacious, with plenty of room to spread out. There's a comfortable lounge and TV, while the bed was really cosy. The Wifi was excellent, and the location was perfect for us, close to the bus, but nice and quiet, with loads of birds and squirrels. The balcony was our favorite spot for meals, which we often prepared in the kitchen. We would return here without hesitation.
