Cottage vacation rentals in Masterton District

We stayed for a long weekend for a girls weekend and to do a long day walk on a Saturday. Beautiful spot to relax for a weekend or if you’re planning a hike around the area. The cottage had everything we needed and more and we definitely left feeling like we had a mini vacation! Richard was great at communicating and making sure our time spent at the cottage was wonderful. The pool was an absolute treat after our hike and the spa also to stargaze. Thank you!

My wife and I had a lovely one night stay at this place with an incredible view and surrounds. There is a short but fairly steep gravel uphill road that you need to navigate to get to the property from the main road, but definitely worth it once you are up there. Robert was a welcoming and responsive host. Would love to come back some day for a longer stay.

We had a delightful stay at Lucinda’s lovely cottage. Greeted on arrival and drove straight into what felt like a very private space all of our own - yet with walking tracks or the option of the road connecting us up with the animals, pond and gardens. Outdoor bath under the autumnal leaves was a highlight for me and my daughter fell in love with Nutz the cat and Sheldon the pig. We enjoyed feeding him our breakfast scraps. And so cosy with the fire to keep us warm. We’ll be back!

We loved our stay in this sweet cottage with an amazing history. Carmen and Richard had thought of everything, it was so comfortable. We loved the veranda when shade was welcome and enjoyed the picnic table in the sun too. Easy runs to Riversdale and castle point, both special places, with lovely beaches and good to return home to our hosts sheltered pool and hot tub before dinner. Just a brilliant weekend away. I think we’ll be back!

I absolutely loved my stay at Fig Tree Cottage! The place is cozy, beautifully maintained, and full of charm. It felt like a home away from home — peaceful, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up with everything I needed. The surroundings are gorgeous too, perfect for a relaxing getaway. Greytown is such a lovely area too. Thank you for sharing your wonderful space.

The Bumblebee Cottage was super cute and full of interesting pictures, decorations, magazines, books, beautiful china etc.. The pantry was very well stocked and I've never stayed anywhere with such a great selection of teas! It was very quiet and peaceful at night and in the morning we got to meet the chickens wandering around, before having freshly laid eggs for breakfast. Gail is a very friendly and helpful host, highly recommended!

We were absoluteky rapt with Sarahs place. it was relaxing, beautiful, clean, warm & inviting. super comfy bed & tge outside bath was incredible under the stars on a pristine night. The bath stays warm for ages so a lovely soak was just what we ordered!!! We will be back, but for more days next time 🥰

What a wonderful few days away! The bach was perfect for a friends’ catch up and equipped with everything we needed - including very comfy beds to rest our weary heads post beach walks and board games. Very close proximity to beach access, the playground/reserve and the cafe/shop. Walking tracks and the golf club (for Friday night dinner) were easily reachable on foot too. Fi and Jo were extremely helpful and responsive hosts 10/10. We will be back!! Thanks so much for sharing your slice of Riversdale.

This is our second stay in this gorgeous cottage and I’m sure there will be many more. It is cosy and idyllic and our hosts provided so many thoughtful touches including setting up the fireplace in anticipation of a chilly weekend. It has become our happy place

Loved our weekend stay at Tanya's beautiful cottage. The place had everything we needed, as well as a stunning view that was enjoyed while relaxing on the deck. Unfortunately, we didn't enjoy the golf course due to tired legs after a weekend of cycling on incredible local roads. Maybe next time. Tanya was super responsive and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

This is a perfect spot to check out all that Greytown has to offer! A comfortable cottage within easy walking distance of all the shops. We would love to stay again!

Very well presented place, fantastic pro-active host, convenient location right between Martinborough and Greytown...all in all a really good little spot for a weekend getaway. Thanks for the lovely cake in the fridge on arrival:)

What a beautifully renovated little cottage, accessorised with personal touches such as flowers, fresh herbs, a generous breakfast and pantry staples. The cottage is well appointed with everything you need. We loved the interior design touches - the new seamlessly next to the old - loved the old light/power switches and orignal door handles. We stayed during Autumn, with one chilly night however the unit was very cosy right through the night by lighting the fire in the evening. We spent lots of time in the sunshine on the decks, enjoying the well manicured gardens. And a highlight for us was the walk across part of the station, to the coast. The only recommendation we'd have to other guests is that if you are light sleeper, take along some ear plugs - the dogs did bark off an on during the night.

We had a truly wonderful stay at this peaceful farmhouse cottage. The tranquillity of the surroundings made it the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle. The thoughtful touches—like fresh eggs, bacon, and bread for breakfast—were so appreciated and made us feel right at home. The hosts were incredibly helpful and welcoming, and the whole place had such a warm, homely feel. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing countryside retreat.

The cottage was snug and clean, while Jane and Jeremy were lovely and responsive. We made heaps of use of the wood burner and there was a good store of firewood, and Jeremy gave us plenty of ideas for where to go walking. We also loved all the figs and apples - they even encouraged us to take some home with us. All in all, it was a wonderful getaway and such a peaceful time for the two of us. It wasn't as private as we expected (the cottage is only a lawn away from the main house), but that's likely due to us misreading the description. It was still quiet and restful.

We loved our stay at the cottage - the perfect place for our family to relax and unwind. It is peaceful, quiet and surrounded by nature. The cottage is warm and well equipped, the bed super comfy and I loved the outdoor shower. All is exactly as described. We hope to come back!
