Places to stay in Little River

We loved our stay here! It’s nestled in the woods, so it is very private, but you’re only a 7 minute drive from Mendocino. The hosts were responsive and friendly, but gave us our space. They were very thoughtful about leaving things for our kids to do. The cabin is adorable and has almost everything you need. The WiFi was not working, but we enjoyed the atmosphere and didn’t come for the internet. The hot water runs out quickly, so if you have more than 2 people, definitely plan to stagger showers (morning and night). The hiking trail was amazing.

A truly special place (the home) within a special place (the Caspar headlands, the Mendocino area more broadly). The incredible views of the wild coast can be enjoyed from bed, from the kitchen, dining room, and of course the back yard. The trails walkable from the house — the lighthouse trail to the South, the headlands trail to the North — feel special even by the standards of Mendocino headlands trails. House is very well equipped and comfortable. We’re looking forward to returning!

Amazing location, not as secluded but definitely peaceful. Worth the stay, close to river and just beautiful overall. Chilly mornings and kid friendly.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this beautiful retreat center, from the well appointed kitchen to the spacious living room with wood burning fireplace to the cedar hot tub!

This is a beautiful spot! As advertised — gorgeous ocean front cliff views, birds of all kinds cruising by (I even saw a bald eagle) and very quiet, except for the sound of the crashing waves, which I loved. The space is cozy and comfortable. Highly recommend.

I can’t describe how cozy this place is. It fit right in with our vibe. One mile from the ocean. Turn table, lots of books, art supplies, coffee, wine and nice bathroom amenities. Nicely appointed art. I wish we lived closer so we could return soon. (We’re from the east coast). The bed and pillows were ridiculously comfortable. I feel truly lucky we found this place.

Highly recommend staying here! The place was beautiful and clean, and it was the perfect distance from downtown Mendocino, Russian Gulch State Park, and Fort Bragg! Will definitely be staying here again when we come back to Mendocino!

This was a wonderful place to have our baby’s first vacation. The area is private, beautiful and felt super safe. The hosts were kind and welcoming, and the studio was spacious and clean. It had everything we needed and matched the description. Also very dog friendly! We loved the secluded feeling of the property while being less than 10 minutes from the town of Cloverdale. Our two night stay in Carolina’s lovely apartment was wonderful. It’s spacious, beautifully decorated and comfortable, which made it a great place to relax after a day of activities. The house is perfectly located near to the ocean as well as to downtown where you can find shops and restaurants. The highlight was getting to enjoy the gorgeous sunset from the bedroom window each evening. We met Carolina one morning when she was watering her garden and had a nice conversation. She was kind and welcoming. We’d love to stay here again when we’re back in Mendocino.
