Hurricane update: We are very fortunate not to have sustained any damage. The pictures give an accurate depiction of the area. We have electricity, water, internet and cell service. Set in a pretty garden, 75 yards from the road, it enjoys access to 50 acres and private walks. Enjoy birdsong and wildlife while relaxing on the deck. I stayed here for three months as I was looking for a place to relocate and I absolutely loved my stay here! It is a beautiful location, where you can see the lake and so much access to many hiking trails. The Airbnb is adorable and both my dog and I felt right at home. David was an incredible host and was super proactive to seeing what I needed or ways to make my stay better. The day I came was a huge snow storm and I mentioned how my car doesn’t drive well in the snow and he came and completely cleared my parking spot. There was an also a time I had car troubles and he was able to give his trusty mechanic’s number. David went above and beyond in my stay there even offered to grab things while they were closer in town. Some things to be mindful of is the location is a on a busy road and cell service is not great in the area so if you are looking to unplug this is perfect! I would absolutely stay here again and will recommend it to all my family visiting!

Her Airbnb home is quintessential Asheville, quiet mountainside location, great artwork and crafts throughout the house, located close enough to the action in the city and outdoor activities. I would hope to stay with her again if I return to the area.

Despite being impacted by Hurricane Helene, we thought the farm was charming and beautiful. The creeks, the view and overlooking the pastures where you can see the sheep and horses. The cottage was cozy and very clean. Wi-fi worked great. Very little cell phone service in the area but that was okay with us. We had our 11 and 13 yr old granddaughters with us and we thoroughly enjoyed spending time with the horses and sheep. Jane was very friendly, responsive and courteous. I felt I made friends with her by the time we left. Her dogs were friendly too and I could easily tell they were farm dogs bc one tried to herd us down to the pasture, lol. When we wanted to go out to eat, we had to drive at least 10-15 min to the nearest restaurants, not counting fast food. Many of the stores and restaurants in Swannanoa were closed due to damage caused by the hurricane. We ate in Black Mountain the most. The Biltmore Estate was only about 20 min away. WNC nature ctr is close by as well

This place is a real mountain gem! My husband and I stayed for our elopement trip, and couldn’t have asked for a better place! Great views, mountain breeze, native wildlife (from a distance of course), and the sweetest little house. This place has the best stocked kitchen of any place I have ever rented! We will be back.

This is a great little cottage that is located just off the main road so we had easy access to the local towns, the grocery store and the local attractions, including grandfather Mountain. Also close to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The space is thoughtfully decorated with modern furnishings. It was a great set up for myself and my three kids (ages 9 to 14). It was very comfortable and we enjoyed the space after long days of hiking. Would definitely recommend.

We loved the Sweethaus! Excellent value overall. Great location close to town, but also semi-rural and quiet. Whenever the Blue Ridge Pkwy reopens, it will be ideal for access to hiking. Nice and new kitchen and bathroom. Comfortable for our family of four. Well stocked kitchen with some snacks provided (a nice touch). Minor issues - the main bed/mattress is not firm enough and was causing us some back pain. An upgrade would be warranted. One other comment…I could have done without investing 15-20 minutes figuring out a convoluted door lock app system (glad I did most of it the day before). I’m not technologically challenged, either. Guests shouldn’t be expected to download unfamiliar apps, create accounts, remember to screen shot the WiFi info, etc. Quite inconvenient to go digging in my phone every time we entered or exited the house, especially the first time when tired from a 400 mi drive. I would junk this system until the tech becomes more seamless and intuitive.
