The unique location offers great opportunities to experience the northern lights, fishing and beautiful hikes nearby. Boat and fishing equipment can be rented. Guided hikes can be arranged. Built in 1992 and fully renovated in 2025. Located approximately 1 hour from Bardufoss airport and 1.5 hours from Tromsø airport.

Here you can really enjoy life in the countryside in a stylish caravan. The barbecue hut is also ready for use if desired. Here you can take one step out of the caravan and see the beautiful northern lights when the weather permits, and sit outside by the fire under the northern lights dancing in the sky. Midnight sun is visible from mid May to late July, but the nights are bright a month before and after. If you visit Sommarøy on a summer day, you'd be forgiven for thinking you were in the Caribbean. From early September to early April, the Northern Lights are right on your doorstep. There is little light pollution, so when the Northern Lights appear, you can just step outside for the magic. Just remember, it all comes down to the weather and clear skies! The weather is impossible to predict!

Authentic and Romantic Lodge close to nature

Authentic and romantic lodge originally built of timber and used for the first time back in 1850 as housing for as many as 10 persons. Situated between the sea and the forest and with the northern light as only light in the dark season this might be the perfect place to enjoy North of Norway. The perfect match for a couple, but will also function very well for up to four persons. It is renovated to a modern standard in 2018, with focus on maintaining the heart and soul of the old building.

The cabin is an excellent starting point for hiking, fishing and exploring Senja. The cabin is 1,5 km from the ferry rental that connects Senja via Brensholmen to Tromsø. The cabin is a short drive from majestic mountains such as Segla, Keipen, Breitinden and the Big Horse.
