Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Leh

I came for two days but stayed for a month. The father picked me up from the airport with a sign, and I felt at home from the moment I arrived. They gave good tips for exploring Leh, and drove me to Thiksey monastery where I stayed a week. I was also able to leave some of my things to their home when I went there. Also I ate dinner with the family every night, delicious home cooked dishes as the house is a 10 minute walk from the market. I can recommend staying here, especially if you travel alone as the family took very good care of me, it was fun to have people to talk to, and it is a very safe environment to stay. Perfect little home stay in a quiet neighborhood in Leh. 😊✌️

Words cannot describe this amazing little place. Richen and her mom are the best of the best, were amazing. Ahhh the food she cooked was really amazing, they know all the best places to visit and see, D..... was also very helpful with booking and planning activities. There were lots of laughs! We thoroughly enjoyed all of the breakfast and dinner meals she prepared for us. The pricing was extremely reasonable for the wonderful service and amenities. I truly miss waking up to the view of snow capped mountains! We spent 2 nights there and wished we could have stayed longer! We will definitely be back to this little piece of paradise. We miss you D... and of course your dog.

We loved staying in Tangste with Dorje's family! His parents, Konchok Ishey and Kunzang Diskit were the perfect hosts, displaying warm Ladakhi hospitality and making us feel very welcome. They allowed us to check in early so that we could continue onto Pangong Lake for the afternoon, but not before sharing a warning cup of tea. The home is very comfortable in the traditional Ladakhi style with the delicious dinner and breakfast shared together in the central living space. Our bedroom was spacious and warm with a comfortable bed and an amazing view to the green meadow outside and epic mountains in the distance. The bathroom (and the whole house), was the cleanest we have had on our India trip! Unfortunately, I suffered from a severe AMS headache in the middle of the night and Konchok was very helpful rousing our driver Tenzing, to get me onto an oxygen cylinder. He also offered to take us to the hospital, which luckily wasn't needed. Super lovely people, super lovely home. Recommended!

Extremely kind family and very pleasant homestay. Clean, spacious, relaxing and very beautiful. It is perfectly located: quiet yet very close the heart of the market and many good restaurants. Would definitely recommend and we hope to come back in the future !

What a beautiful place it was, tucked in Domkhar village. Travelled while it was blossoming with Apricot blossoms, the homestay was surrounded by them, what a beautiful site to behold. Nikki, Dorjee and the hosting family were so warm and lovely, it just felt like home! Stay with them to experience the Ladakhi culture. Such humbleness. Place was nice, food was great , and most of all People were warm! Thank you Mountain Homestays ! Will visit soon!

Come here if you want to experience authentic Ladakhi rural lifestyle with a really kind and sincere family! As written in my last reviews, this is a gem in Phyang village. Below is a few extra highlights from my last stay: 1. Perfect location in beautiful Phyang village. Just a 15-minute walk to Phyang monastery. 2. You can enjoy the quiet and peaceful rural lifestyle without being too far from Leh where you can go to nice cafes, restaurants and do all your shopping. 3. You can observe a sustainable agricultural practices that contain tons of traditional Ladakhi wisdom, which the modern world needs to learn from. 4. The food is top-notch! Everyone in the family is superb cook! Ms. Sonam and Mrs. Rigzin will feed you with the best food on earth! 5. The room is modern and clean, with amenities comparable to a hotel room 6. For your information, the farmstay is 30 min from Leh market by taxi, which will cost you 600 rupees. There are also buses that will cost only 20 rupees one way.

Disait and her family are located on the slowly rising hills at the edge of Leh. Views, quiet neighbourhood and relaxing tranquility. Diskit's family were a pleasure to meet and ever helpful. She provided numerous suggestion for daily activities and was available to facilitate local services when needed. Breakfasts always prepared us for active days and when we requested dinners they were always hearty and tasty. Thank you and hope to see you again soon!

I had the most incredible stay at this cozy and beautifully peaceful hidden gem in Leh—simple, clean, and felt like a tranquil retreat from the world. It was the perfect place to rest and recharge, probably after a day of adventure. Also, there’s a cozy touch that book lovers will adore: shelves filled with rare and intriguing titles you wouldn’t discover anywhere else. Jigmat is an absolute treasure. With his deep knowledge as a guide and a photographer, I experienced the very best of Ladakh. He is always ready with thoughtful advice or travel tips—from hikes and treks to hidden spots that you wouldn't consider planning on your own. His passion for the region and his work shine through in every interaction. There's a small porch—where I would sit with a cup of tea, basking in the sun while soaking in the breathtaking surroundings and learning about Ladakh from him. P.S. - The added convenience of being able to hire a cycle, bike, or car directly through Jigmat made exploring easier.

clean, upgraded space. Beds are so so, but better than some. It's better than dealing with deposits on furnished finder, but also not as nice as say an ocean view condo for same price. Like everything, you have to choose what's best for you. All in all, it's a great place. We will be here for a total of 6 weeks.

Asif's place is in the center, but at the same time on a quiet and super quiet street. The accommodation had a private bathroom and kitchen, on the top floor of the property there is also a beautiful terrace with mountain views. Water is provided at the entrance every day. Asif and her family are very kind and always helpful. We are two remote workers and also the WiFi is very good for working! Sometimes the signal is slightly lower, but it depends on what location you are in the structure. In total, we stayed a month. Highly recommended!

Great location and view from the room. The hostess was very friendly and served us home cooked meal on the first day to help us get acclimatized to the high altitude. Felt like at home, will definitely recommend for a stay.
