Lake Shelbyville fishing places to stay

We enjoyed our weekend at Charming Victorian Getaway! The house was very clean and well maintained. The host was amazing - welcoming and made sure everything was an easy process for us! We will definitely be booking with Lauren again for our future trips!

The only problem my family had was we could not lock the sliding door to the lower level. Also, there were no curtains for the bathroom in the Master suite.

This place is amazing! Lots of room to spread out, games to play for kids and an amazing water front and back yard. Will definitely recommend to family and friends in the area.

The place continues to be a peaceful retreat while visiting a chaotic family. We always check for this location first when planning a trip to the area.

Great stay for our girls trip. Furniture and beds were comfortable and the view of the lake was fantastic! Communication with Sean was great and he addressed any concerns promptly.

Great location near Decatur Lake! Very nice and extremely comfortable mattresses.) The home felt well cared for and was a great place to rest and relax with my husband and 8 yro disabled son. It was spotless and smelled GREAT! We loved the area and the host was very nice. We will definitely stay again ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Christy’s house was beautiful, it’s right on Lake Sara with a beautiful boat dock. There is even kayaks and a canoe you can use of hers with floaties and life vests. This house is way bigger than the pictures and very spacious! Christy also leaves extra condiments,coffee and spices for the guests! That was really a plus for me because usually airbnbs have empty shelves and you have to buy the condiments and spices you’ll only use once! Overall I loved Christy’s house and we will be back!!

Lake Marion suite with several rooms. Nice touches and all amenities during an off season visit. Nice getaway to see my family and have my own space. Thank You

My family rented the house for a couple of days for a quick family reunion. The house was great, had plenty of space for all of us. It had everything you could need and was well equipped. We are hoping to make this an annual event and this is our house of choice.

We had a great time on our girl's trip. I was on a knee scooter due to surgery and was pleasantly surprised to see a true walk-in shower in the master bedroom. That was tremendously helpful for me. The house was great - we especially loved the sunroom.

You would think Tara and David have been Super Hosts for years - they have thought of every detail in the home - it’s exactly like the photos and description; they are great at communicating, hospitality and professionalism. We spent several nights here for our 26th wedding anniversary trip and I don’t think it could have been any better! We haven’t listened to records or played games, just the two of us in years - but we had a blast playing some of our favorite old albums on the record player and played some old games like 2-man Euchre, Scrabble and Yahtzee. We made a fire in the fire pit every night, ate pizza at The Villa in Mattoon - was very good; Yoders Kitchen in Arthur - yum!; and Hangar18 that has a robot server and peanut butter Cheeseburgers 😉. Most of the time we spent just chilling at the house and the lake. We’ve stayed at quite a few places in the US and this is definitely one of our favorites! Thanks Tara and David for sharing your amazing lakehouse with us 😌

This house was amazing, and the location was person being a local coming home for my wedding this place was absolutely perfect for all our needs. This will be my new local spot anytime I need a place in Decatur.

We were a last minute booking because the previous place we booked was not fit to stay at. We were stressed and the owners immediately put us at ease. They were responsive with our questions. The house was beautiful and clean and looked just like the pictures. This place saved our weekend. Highly recommend this place!!

This cozy cottage has beautiful fees of the lake! We loved the sunroom and all beds were comfy. Loved the well stocked kitchen where I was able to make some favorites for my Grandsons. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing time at this place!! It’s better than the pictures! Very private and so peaceful. The place was super clean! We enjoyed so much to relax surrounding by the nature. The row boat was cool and there is also a creek down the heal and lots of trails all around. We also enjoyed the fire pit and the grill. And our dog enjoyed so much running around freely (with our supervision at all times). The water does have a bit of a fishy taste (common in cabins,etc.) so you might want to bring water bottles with you. There are a few small towns 10-20 minutes away for shopping, attractions etc. There is also a nice big lake for swimming/fishing, and a great affordable place to rent boats- 20 minutes away. We usually don’t go to an air bnb twice, but we might be back for this one!

Lovely home, semi-rural setting but only 10 minutes from downtown. Perfect for our family of five. There is a paved bike path to town just about two blocks away.

We booked this place because it was just a few dollars more than hotels in tue area. What a great call because we had an entire house. This place was perfect for us to come relax with our college son and make him a nice dinner! The house far exceeded our expectations. Everything was perfect! We loved the old feel, with updated touches. Cooked on the grill outside and even had a small fire in the fire pit. Such a peaceful stay! Thank you Jill! You were so quick to respond to any of our messages! We will definitely search for this place in the future!

Poppy’s Place was the perfect place. Just as described. Beautiful, cozy, had everything we needed for our stay. Felt right at home. We loved our stay!! Will be back and hope to stay again!

I'm not an advide camper. I took my sister with me to get a weekend away from family. Julie was on top of all my concerns and questions. I may have been too annoying. so I'm sorry if I was. However, if she'll have me I'd love to bring my family back for next spring. perfect for light camping.
