Lake house vacation rentals in Lake Lure

Libby was an incredible host who made this the very best Airbnb experience we’ve ever had. And we’ve been to several over the years in the US and Europe. The house is centrally located and easy to find yet peaceful beautifully landscaped. It was quite thoughtfully furnished and makes you feel comfortable from the minute you walk through the front door, especially with the lovely welcoming note tucked into a crate of family-sized yummy snacks greeting you the minute you walk in. It’s truly a cook’s kitchen with excellent pots & pans, utensils, a plethora of small appliances and hard working major appliances. Lots of nice dishes, glasses and serveware were put to good use. We even made the icing and decorated my daughter’s wedding cake there with everything we needed (besides an offset spatula and turntable we brought!) The extra large dining room easily accommodated our extended family meals and we enjoyed the dock, canoe and floats. Truly a wonderful place!! Book it and enjoy!

The pictures did not do this place justice, as it was more beutiful than the pictures represented. It was clean, vary large with many amenities and lots of water toys "several kayaks , a canoe, beach toys, life vest, and even a couple blow up tubes. There was a nice grill and firepit and Amanda even left the kiddoes smores fixing, which they enjoyed very much. We were there for Easrer weekend, and there did not seem to be anyone in any of the other cabins along the lake, so it was very private, which we appreciated. Give this place a try, and you won't be disappointed.

Stayed at Christy's place from 4/14/25 to 4/18/25. Very modern, serene, and peaceful. Great place for outdoor enthusiasts, especially for those that love the water and kayaking. There is also easy hiking on the Flora Trail within walking distance in this gated community. The Fonta Flora Loop Trail is about 3 miles away and is a moderate hike with great water and mountain view. Down the road a bit further is Shortoff Mountain which is somewhat strenuous but the views are worth it. Would definitely stay again! Dave

The property was super clean, cozy and in a great location. Beautiful views of the lake and a private backyard. Interior had all the essentials one might need. Linens were abundant and clean. Bathrooms and kitchen were all upgraded and very nice. Quick drive to the market and a walk across the street for coffee, drinks and food. Also a quick drive to Chinmey Rock. Patrick, the host, was very responsive and always friendly. Definitely recommend. We will be staying here again!

This is a lakeside cottage/cabin built in 1950 and subsequently updated. It met our expectations of rustic coziness and modern bathroom/ kitchen. The screened porch overlooking the lake was a highlight. It is evident that this rental is enjoyed by the owners and there are many touches that show they have actually stayed there and thought about what is needed. The kitchen is well equipped and there are plenty of towels. A highlight for us was using the kayaks. Early morning on the lake is peaceful and there isn’t much traffic on this little bay. We had four adults, so having one shower was not a problem. We had read the description and reviews and were prepared for the stairs. Many houses on this bay are built on the side on a steep embankment and have long staircases. Also, the property manager was responsive to our questions. We enjoyed our time here and would definitely stay again.

Little gem. Only weakness was the TV is a bit older and the internet bandwidth isn’t consistent. Cell service is weak up there too, so be aware of that. But if you want to truly unplug and enjoy nature, especially during the warmer months, this place is a treat. The owners have put a lot of intentionality into the place and accommodating the stay of their guests. Overall, wonderful.

Holly’s place is just great and what we were looking for. We were taking a birding trip and our first morning there a hummingbird flew right up to us. In the morning and at the evening around 6 PM, lots and lots of birds flying around in the backyard. We bought a hummingbird feeder and hung it from the porch. There were two hummingbirds that immediately visited the feeder many times each day. We couldn’t have asked for anything better. Plus, Holly has the place so organized and functional to make it easy for her guest.

Our family felt right at home at Michael's A-frame. My husband commented that it felt as though we had stayed there before, and it really had. It has every amenity and creature comfort you could want or need, including a nicely stocked spice cabinet, plenty of linens, board games and puzzles, and a place to do laundry. Michael was friendly and helpful. Our family had an awesome time, and we hope to be back to enjoy the property in the summer months!

Fantastic house and hosts!! This is one of our favorite AirBnBs and we live in AirBnBs full time!! The house is so lovely and cozy! We loved sitting by the fire in the living room. The kitchen was perfect for making dinner every night. The yard was large enough for our dog to run around and they even offered a doggie door if we wanted it! The house is very dog friendly and we could take our pup for walks around the neighborhood. The neighborhood is very walkable around a beautiful lake. You can walk to downtown but it is very hilly so bring your walking shoes! We preferred to drive. The drive to downtown was very short and there was plenty of parking. We loved this place and will definitely stay again!!!

We went to Lake Lure to get away and relax for the weekend. We knew that Lake Lure wasn’t 100% back and we were okay with that as that meant it would be less busy and more relaxing. We enjoyed our stay and the Cardinal Cabin was as described. The host was very helpful and had great communication despite being on vacation in a foreign country. We would definitely stay here again.

This place was perfect for us and our dogs—one of our favorite trips for sure. It had everything we needed in a clean and comfortable package. Basic, convenient, cozy, comfortable, and the best location for us. We want to cancel all of our other trips this year and just come back to Black Mountain and stay at Sean’s. While we have very well behaved dogs and have never had any issues with them staying anywhere, we always get a little nervous that they might mess something up, but Sean’s place is absolutely dog proof and we felt right at home. Our dogs loved it too. Don’t hesitate to book, but also we hope it’s available next time we come to Black Mountain. 😀

My family (2 adults & 2 children) took out a few days in Tryon for Spring break (March 2025). Firstly, the location and home were exactly as shown online. The location is extremely private and there was no wear and tear which made all of us feel like we were home from home. The bedrooms (3 in total) were large and spacious, the kitchen well stocked with basic sundries which allowed us to cook every night. Spending time together with breathtaking views was icing on the cake. The winner was the games room in the basement which we spent numerous hours at - pool table, giant Jenga, card game etc. Off the games room was a lovely hot tub which overlooked the mountains which was thoroughly used by all of us. Peter was extremely responsive to questions and super helpful which made us feel extremely looked after. I would highly recommend this location and I am sure we will be back again!

The home was very comfortable and convenient to the areas I was visiting. I was very pleased with the home and with Linda's communications and help.

Great location on Lake Lure. Quick access to the central part of the lake. Inside the house is on the small side but outdoor decks provide plenty of space to spread out. Everything you might need to enjoy your lake stay is provided, including the option for an on-site boat to rent. Parking is tight for larger vehicles - would suggest more compact size cars for easier maneuvering on street/parking area.

We spent Thanksgiving week at Evergreen with our family of 4. The surrounding land is stunning - naturally beauty that is worth the stay alone! The cabin feels like going to a great camp in the mountains...the rooms are large - every room is spacious and comfortable. It is an older property with a sense of history - feels like a family home. The kitchen was well stocked and there were plenty of linens for the beds - and extra quilts. The property is rural but not a far drive to Tuxedo or Hendersonville for groceries. We also went apple picking at a near by orchard! It is probably equally beautiful in the spring when the trees and bushes are in bloom.

We just returned from a fantstic week long getaway at Lake Toxaway at Jennifer's place. The house is located in a quiet, peaceful cove with beautiful views of the lake and mountains. The porch was so nice, we ended up eating every meal outside. The house was exactly as pictured, very clean and well equipped. The neigborhood was lovely with beautiful roads and houses. We took walks and took our nine year old on bike rides around the neigborhood. Jennifer was very responsive to all of our needs. The only thing better than our week at the lake would have been two weeks!!!!

Loved staying in this well appointed condo with lovely finishes and amenities. We would absolutely stay here again.

What a great place. Brought the family for Thanksgiving. Plenty of room for everyone. Saw 4 bucks the day we arrived. We had fires, fished, played games and relaxed. Kitchen is very well stocked. Love the “second” kitchen. It sure helped with Thanksgiving. The whole house is. Thomas is a great host. Don’t hesitate to book. I bet it’s great in the summer.

I would recommend this to anyone looking for a serene escape. The home was exactly as pictured and we really enjoyed our stay. Would love to come back sometime.

Carolyn's place was spotless and we felt very comfortable staying there. The view of the lake and mountains were amazing. It was wonderful to be able to take a walk every morning and feel the peace of God's presence. We will definitely be back!

Stacy’s home was absolutely gorgeous. The setting was so peaceful with views of the lake from most every room. We were in town for a family wedding and unfortunately did not get the opportunity to enjoy the amenities as much as we would have liked. The younger adults and kids in our group loved the beautiful basement. I enjoyed how comfortable the whole house was, especially the bedding in the master bedroom. Stacy communicated quickly anytime I asked a question. She even helped suggest possible rehearsal dinner options when our original place was affected by the hurricane. If you are looking for a peaceful setting with gorgeous views, yet less than 10 minutes from Lake Lure about 15 minutes from local vineyards, this is the perfect home.

Sunset Paradise was a beautiful location! The driveway was hard at first for us flat land peeps but became easier. The Kitchen was outstanding, clean, lots of room along with ajoining living room. Bedrooms were perfect for our needs (10 people including small kids) along with clean bathrooms. Kimberly responded fast when I asked simple or complicated questions and came to property to bring new propane for fire pit! This area had been part of the Hurricane Helene destruction, but roads are open and we went to Tryon, Hendersonville, and Asheville. Only draw back was the lake was cloudy and mucky, plus plenty of debris....but also noted small barges getting debris out. Nice rental!
