Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Lake Cowichan

Awesome place! The house was very well appointed. Host always responded to our messages. Walkable to all stores and food options. Would definitely recommend this place if staying in and around lake Cowichan.

Priceless views and amazing architecture are showpieces of this magnificent home that combines coziness, elegance, comfort and rustic charm. We’ve stayed at many airbnbs, but this one is a new favorite. It’s an ideal getaway for the whole family; plus it’s close to interesting hikes and restaurants. The kitchen is well stocked for eating at home. We didn’t enjoy the taste of the well water, but bought drinking water at Tru Value. Carley was very responsive and helpful throughout. We would love to come back in the summer.

We enjoyed our stay very much! The place was exactly as described and the views were spectacular. Evelyn was a great host. She informed us of everything we needed and more. We had forgotten a sweater at the place and Evelyn was so kind to mail it to us.

This is a true gem and an amazing space to stay in while visiting the West Coast and would stay here again over and over. The outdoor space was well designed for privacy and feels like you’re on your own in the great outdoors to enjoy a campfire and the beautiful outdoor tub was spectacular and such a treat. We loved all the extra amenities and the space was very well designed indoors and felt like home.

If you want all the modern living inside a craftman style heritage home in a neiborhood filled with rich history within a hip, vibrant Kitsilano area? I am not sure if you can find a better place to stay than Theo's place. All the good reviews about this place are true. We will not hesitate to stay at Theo's place again.

Terry's place was great! We had more than enough room to move around and make meals together as a family. We enjoyed the whole space. Terry was very quick to respond to any questions or concerns we had. We would definitely stay there again! Thank you for the great stay!

We had a great stay - the huge windows and expansive deck take full advantage of the views! We found the location to be fantastic - quiet, near Lost Lake trail (2 minute drive or stroll down the road), convenient to grocery shopping, restaurants, amazing Nanaimo city parks, and the waterfront, where we had a fantastic whale watching afternoon with Vancouver Island Whale Watch. The home was extremely clean, which we really appreciated. There was ample parking, too. We enjoyed the sectional sofas on both levels for family game night and movie night. And, it was SO convenient to have a washer and dryer for washing our hiking clothes. We appreciated that there were basics, like toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, salt and pepper, detergent and dryer sheets, that we have sometimes had to go out and buy when staying in other places. Nice touch!

What a wonderful spot! Gorgeous views, quiet and serene, a perfect home base to explore the whole island. The kitchen was great for cooking, and we enjoyed several meals on the deck, listening to the birds and taking in the views. Lisa was a great host, and even though her house was nearby, it felt very separate. I highly recommend staying here, and hope to return on future visits to the island!

Mark’s place was in a fantastic location - close to coffee shops and a variety of restaurants that are in walking distance. The house was spotless and as described. Parking spot available if requested and not being used. Instructions for entry and the stay were clear and reasonable. Home and the surrounding neighborhood had charm. Could not have asked for a better location. Wish most hosts were like Mark. Thanks so much for a great stay!

Great place to stay! Clean, accessible, and Lucy was super helpful when our arrival plans got delayed.

Lydia's place was great for us! So clean, had everything we needed, perfect location. She's very easy to reach anytime and a lovely person. As noted by others there is construction nearby and ambulances bc of nearby hospital but it's only in the day and we got pretty used to it. It's one of the nicest places we've stayed so unless you need quiet all day and won't be going out I wouldn't hesitate to book this lovely place.

We had a wonderful stay at Jane’s ! The suite is close to the the Cowichan Valley Trail ( part of the Trans Canada Trail ) which we cycled for 2 days. Also close to town and restaurants and the famous totems of Duncan. Lots of lovely touches and a very comfortable bed . Would highly recommend Jane’s air bnb .

My parents really enjoyed their stay here. The space was neat and nicely presented, with a convenient bus stop located out front that takes you to downtown in a few stops. Sarah was kind enough to adjust the temperature whenever to suit our needs!

Two words gorgeous views!!! Looked forward to having my cup of coffee on Kelley & Kent’s patio every morning. A very peaceful location tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Ganges, but still less than five minute trip into town. Both Kelley & Kent were very welcoming and accommodating to our early check in. Their air bnb had all the amenities you could need to make you feel right at home. Beds were super comfy! I would HIGHLY recommend booking this accommodation, you won’t be disappointed! :) Enjoy!

Harley’s place was pure magic. Perfectly situated and very well equipped, we felt right at home for our three-night stay in Port Renfrew. The views are even more breathtaking than the photos suggest, with tons of natural light spilling through the entire apartment. We were blown away by the wildlife sightings from the balcony and spent hours with the binoculars taking it all in. We would happily return to Harley’s property in the future.

Amazing place. I was there with my parents and it was a great experience. The place was in the heart of downtown, and everything was close by. Highly recommend this place

Wonderful home in a beautiful neighborhood! Super close walk to the park, and good distance to both downtown and the ferry terminal. Host was flexible with our check-in time so we didn’t have to worry about arriving a few minutes early. Would stay again!

Alice’s house was beautiful inside! Very thoughtfully decorated, the tatami mats were really cool, and there was tons of space! Would definitely book again!

This house is very grand and a great stay for multiple families. Our family had a lovely stay and would recommend Mejbien’s place.

The place is amazing, and Billy was a great host. Every part of the property and accommodation is great. We especially enjoyed the private river access, sauna, and comfortable, well set up cabin. The space is also super flexible with lots to do, lots of places to hang out, and works for big groups. Finally, we loved how well prepared and clear things were in terms of pre-made fire places, instructions, etc. Great experience and hope to return for sure.

This is an absolutely stunning house with a gorgeous view and perfect location for visiting Salt Spring Island. We were 7 adults and 4 children, here for a weekend and it is well equipped for families. (High chair, cribs, etc.) We were able to walk into town from the house enjoying the Saturday market but the house location is private and pristine. There is a very cottage feeling to the place yet it is also large and elegant as well. A nice mix of experiences. The kitchen is well equipped with anything you could possibly want and the house in general is well supplied with books, games, and activities. It is large enough that you can wander off for some peaceful time on your own while at the same time, the living room and dining room could easily accommodate our numbers as well. We did find some of the furniture, while charming, a bit uncomfortable to sit in and the very firm mattress on the king bed was a bit too much for our aging backs, but that's a plus for some.
