House vacation rentals in Lake County

Jonathan is a great host, respond to my questions on a timely manner. The place is the cleanest and very homey. Will definitely recommend.

Cheryl’s home was great for our family with young grandchildren. The sand provided hours of building and pretending fun. The sandy beach and shallow water depth was perfect for all the children from 2-8. They really loved jumping off the dock. The kayaks and paddle boats gave us time on the water. The large level grassy backyard was excellent for softball and tag. The bunk room was great for the grandkids to sleep together, leaving 4 bedrooms for adults. There was a pack n Play and a high chair for the youngest. There were many toys and games to play. The house hade cute decore with special touches to welcome us everywhere. We also appreciated the washer and dryer. The leather sectional was cozy for all of us. We also loved the fire pit for s’mores in the evening. We would like to have had more beach seating. The last two plastic Adirondack chairs were fatally cracked. I’m sure those are on Cheryl’s list to replace soon. Thank you for sharing your home with us Cheryl.

Great place to stay. Close to the beach and downtown. We went in the off season so the crowd was light. The place is clean, inviting, and has all the amenities you would need. We didn’t use the pool or hot tub so I can’t speak on that but they seemed nice. Troy was responsive to all of my questions, great host.

We stayed for the Thanksgiving holiday as our family lives right across the street. The property could not have been more accommodating with location and was supplied with everything we needed. The host Kristi was great to work with!! We would definitely recommend and we will certainly be staying again in the future.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this incredible cabin, and it exceeded all of my expectations! The moment I walked in, I was struck by the beautiful decoration and the charming antiques that give the place such a warm and unique character. Every corner seemed to have a story to tell. The beds were extremely comfortable, making it easy to get a good night’s sleep. The views from the cabin were absolutely breathtaking. Me and my friends were literally debating to decide who was going to sleep in the bed by the window with the lake view. The scenery of that place is something special. We made great use of the grill and spent time lounging by the pool, which was the perfect way to relax. Dave was incredibly hospitable, making sure we had everything we needed. If you’re looking for a getaway that combines comfort, style, and a touch of nostalgia, this cabin is the perfect choice. I can’t wait to return!

Very serene and peaceful. The wrap-around porch pairs beautifully with the heavily wooded and hill-ridden geography. Just down the road is a gorgeous lake and though we did not have the chance to utilize the public lake access, the view at the guardrail on the bend of the road is within walking distance and is a great spot to pull off and enjoy the scenery. Less than 10 minutes away is a great pizza place and a small town bar and grill. There are also a few parks nearby. Highly suggest for a small group looking to escape the bustle, or a group looking for a golf retreat.

Host was very responsive to questions/needs as they came up. Was very accurate with description on property. Definitely would consider staying here again.

This was a great place in a great location for our family who had events to attend in nearby Big Rapids. As this was a winter trip can only imagine the house and the whole area would make for a fantastic holiday.

This was our 2nd stay at Carlton’s “The Dove Shack.” It was just what we needed for our stay. Everything was perfect during our 1st stay, we were happy the airbnb was available for us again. The airbnb was nice, clean, well-stocked, and roomy enough for spending time with friends and family. The best part was meeting and conversing with our host Carlton. During our conversation we realized there was a connection. Carlton made us feel welcomed and kept the lines of communication open. Carlton also made sure to leave a meal for us to prepare upon arrival. Thank you again for allowing us to stay at your airbnb. We’re looking forward to staying again soon. Angela & Friends! 🙂

Emily’s home was a wonderful spot to house my family on our annual Salmon fishing trip. She had all the amenities we needed, beautiful view of the river in her backyard, great outdoor spot for bonfires and a was in a peaceful and quiet area. Great place to get away if you want a relaxing time up north or to find some good fishing spots in the summer and fall.

Pros: Little Star Lake is beautiful, serene, and so quiet! The cottage is clean and feels newly updated, kitchen is very well equipped. Huge propane grill, propane campfire, traditional wood fire pit on beach with cooking surface, Keurig (BYO k cups, none provided) all are cool amenities I didn’t know from the listing. Also, a very nice water cooler is provided bc the well water has a metallic taste. The pontoon (runs with solar powered battery) is so fun for kids to jump off in the middle of the lake. Such a great set up for young kids. Several beach towels are provided, which helps with no dryer available. Cons: The host takes a long time to respond to communication. We had asked for pool heat more than 2 weeks in advance. 5 days prior to our stay she finally responded with the assurance that there would be pool heat. When we arrived, there was no pool heat, and we had to deal with some devastated kids. The host did allow us free use of kayaks to make up for no heat.

Michael was amazing! I took my best friend here for his bachelor party and we absolutely loved it. Michael gave us all the best recommendations, and even gave us access to their cottage and their other dock. Stars are beautiful at night and the lake is big and super peaceful. Would 100% bring my fam back here!

This cottage exceeded our expectations. It was sparkling clean, nicely decorated and didn't have unnecessary knickknacks for our kids to break. The beds were very comfortable. Cottage was generously stocked with lots of extras like shampoo, cleaning supplies, extra linens and towels. And the view!! It felt like we were totally surrounded by water. I woke up in the morning and each curtain that I opened surprised me with the beauty. This is not an isolated cabin. We did go on a holiday weekend so might not be typical, but there were plenty of neighbors around and the lake was pretty busy on Sunday. The next day had less boat traffic. We enjoyed playing in our small private beach, swimming, and kayaking. Host was very responsive and helpful. Would definitely consider visiting again.

We had a blast! Just a couple min walk to town, but property was tucked back and private by the river. All details were thought out and made a comfortable stay. After a day of fishing and exploring the bed was dreamy! Great family memories were made!

Wonderful home. Beautiful atmosphere. Loved sitting on the deck drinking coffee, watching the lake. Will definitely stay again. Looking forward to a summer stay.

This house was perfectly situated to the ORV trail systems. We were able to ride our machines everywhere we wanted to go. If you have large trailers there is plenty of room to turn around and also a second drive to get out. The house was very clean and well stocked with bedding towels and dishes. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

Beautiful home inside, very warm and cozy. We had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay.
