Tabitabi 「Taishi」

DianaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Our Kyoto home was clearly the most beautiful, cozy, and aesthetic place we’ve ever stayed in. There were 4 of us, and we used the two rooms upstairs. I mention this because before arriving, I was a bit nervous about sleeping on the floor in the tatami room. I want to reassure anyone with the same concern: it’s extremely comfortable. Both rooms had mattresses thick enough to provide exactly the level of comfort you need. So no worries there! Everything else was spotless. The house is extraordinarily beautiful, with just the right attention to detail. It’s so photogenic and perfectly arranged, we didn’t want to move a single thing. At one point, we needed an iron for our clothes, so we contacted the host. They were super responsive and got it to us really quickly. The location is great, quiet and nestled in a homey neighborhood. One thing to note: it’s a bit far from the city center or major tourist attractions if you’re walking, so it’s better to use the train to get around.

In the pottery of Shigaraki/Free parking/4 people

EricRating, 5 stars1 month ago
It's so quiet and peaceful up on the hillside overlooking town. The hosts are very friendly and run an absolutely gorgeous ceramics shop there on the property. The guest house is very clean too with fresh linens on the beds and even fresh clean towels are provided. The bed is comfortable as is the sofa. Above the sofa there's a projection TV built into the light that you can use to watch many streaming services or log in to your own accounts. It's comfortable, quiet, and clean and I'll not hesitate to stay here every time I come to Shigaraki.

KYOTO Traditional and modern terrace house

ScarletRating, 5 stars3 days ago
Staying in this beautiful home was such a wonderful mix of traditional Japanese living with the comforts of modern living with very easy to use clean kitchen and bathrooms and shower. My family enjoyed the open air bath however I found myself enjoying it every evening we stayed for some time to soak the muscles and hear the sound of someone playing nearby piano and the summer rain. Akane is such a lovely host, offering us help and showing us around the home and local recommendations when we arrived early. She also popped by to swap our towels for fresh ones and was easily reached whenever we needed extra help. I highly recommend staying in this home, you will be submerged into the history of Kyoto mixed with comfortable living ♥️

The neighborhood is great for biking, there is a nearby shopping street and plenty of conveniences. Emily and team were responsive, helpful and friendly. Were I to come back to Kyoto, I would absolutely stay again!

Our stay at Icy's apartment for two nights was absolutely fantastic! The apartment itself is stunning – it's clear everything is brand new, with beautiful furnishings and a really fancy, modern design that made us feel like we were in a high-end boutique hotel. Beyond the aesthetics, the location couldn't be better. We loved being within easy 15 minutes walking distance of all the major tourist spots, and the surrounding area was so nice and comfortable to explore. What truly made our trip exceptional was Icy, who was an incredibly helpful and responsive host. We felt so at home from the moment we arrived. Highly, highly recommend!
