Family-friendly vacation rentals in Knysna

This is a great spot in Plett with great value! The contained unit has everything needed for an easy stay. The tub was awesome, and the layout of the interior and porch is nice. The hosts are friendly as well. With a car, its easy to access different parts of Plett from here, as well as the surrounds. Quiet and safe neighborhood too. The quality of the space for the price, can't be beat in this area!

The host is very nice and responsive. She was also patient with us as we had to change our check-in time due to unforeseen circumstances.

If you're looking for a place in Plett for a family holiday with young kids (ours are 9 & 6) then this is a superb house. Nice safe and peaceful complex, communal areas are clean, the pools are great, and the house has everything you need. BUT please note the 3rd outside bedroom is actually tiny. It's a double bed, right up against the wall. My parents (Granny and Granddad) also joined us and no way they could use that as a bedroom. They can't climb over each other to get out of bed! So they moved into the 2nd bedroom and our kids slept on mattresses on the floor for 10 nights. The outside room is perfect for 1 teenager/adult. The house is well equipped, and lots to do on rainy days. It definitely needs some TLC and in need of a modernization but overall a good family holiday house in Plett.

I can't wait to return. The serene farm stay was perfect for a family break from the city's hustle and bustle. There was a sprawling lawn for the kids to enjoy themselves, and the crate of bats/balls, etc., was put to good use. It is eye-opening to see what the city kids are missing. The hike to the river was amazing, and not once did the kids have a chance to even think of saying they were tired, as nature kept them guessing around every corner. Linda was amazing from the initial communication post-booking until after checkout. Genuine farm hospitality!

Very luxurious residence, charming view, stunning beach and restaurant and very close café. Highly recommended!

Cheryl was a lovely, responsive host. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at her beautiful cottage. The space was immaculate, the beds really comfortable and the peaceful surroundings and amenities at the property were fantastic. We would definitely return should we have the opportunity to do so. This is a highly recommended spot! And Cheryl a wonderful host.

We stayed at Sue's in our way up the garden route and it was just what we needed! The hot tub was warm and ready when we arrived, the property fit our family of 4 perfectly and it really was a lovely quant little flat. The surroundings were amazing - so beautiful. Would happily come back!

Cindy's place is great, with a wonderful outdoor entertainment and pool area. The kitchen was well equipped and bedrooms comfortable. Cindy was quick to reply to any queries or requests for assistance. Thanks Cindy!

This house was worth every penny, from the surroundings to the house itself, it met every expectation and more. The host is also extremely friendly so we were all happy about the experience. Highly recommended.

5 Stars – A Slice of Paradise in Knysna! We had the most incredible stay at this beautiful home in Knysna. From the moment we arrived, we felt so welcomed — the hosts greeted us warmly and had thoughtfully left snacks, a bottle of wine, and even a delicious cake for us to enjoy. Such a special touch that set the tone for the rest of our stay. The house itself is stunning — spotless, beautifully decorated, and perfectly equipped with everything we needed. The peaceful location made it the perfect place to unwind. We loved spending time on the patio, soaking in the scenery, and enjoying relaxed evenings by the fire. The location is ideal too — just a short drive from town, yet far enough to feel like a private retreat. This place truly felt like a home away from home, and we can’t wait to return. Thank you for an unforgettable stay!

For golfers this is a fantastic location as there is easy access to a least five excellent courses. If you like a tranquil home with great views and security this is the place for you. Ideally situated on the Garden route it is a great place to base your explorations. Delarey is a very amenable and enthusiastic host who ensured that we had a great stay with all the home comforts and pizza oven! We are looking forward to returning next year.

What a gem of a place! Waking up to that stunning view and being just a stone’s throw from the lagoon was such a treat. It’s the perfect spot for families with young kids. The house was spacious, spotless, and well-equipped—with a cozy fireplace that made chilly nights extra special. The swimming pool and bikes were a great bonus. Tori was an absolute pleasure to deal with. We’d come back in a heartbeat.

Stayed for a night and it was lovely. The kitchen had everything we needed and the place was spacious but also cost. The host was lovely and made recommendations for places we could visit around the area.

Beautiful property and loved our stay.

We loved our stay at Helga's cottage. Wonderful outdoor balcony to relax and watch and hear the birds in the garden. Right next to a big open park area which is perfect for the dogs and just a couple of minutes walk from The Bell restaurant. Close to Brenton on Sea and a 5 minute drive to Knysna Central. We love staying in Belvedere for the quietness and nature. Thank you Helga for welcoming us and our 3 dogs, we all had a wonderful holiday and hope to return soon.

A perfect getaway! The space was even better than the pictures—cozy, quiet, and centrally located. Loved the thoughtful extras like Nespresso coffee, milk, and fast Wi-Fi. Would absolutely return!

lovely little cottage that is so beautifully decorated. The outside areas are so beautiful and there is a lovely water feature just outside the door which makes the whole area just feel so soothing and definitely not like in the middle of a big city! I was traveling through Knysna with a vehicle full of things as I am relocating and Lesley even made space in her garage so that I could safely park my car in it as the vehicle couldn't lock. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone! lovely accommodation and a super lovely host!

The house was absolutely fabulous. We were 8 people and the house has plenty is space to comfortably accommodate all of us. It is also tastefully decorated. The neighborhood was completely safe and near many attractions including restaurants. We highly recommend the place and would not hesitate for one minute to book the place again. We loved staying at this house! It has stunning views overlooking the Knysna lagoon, great security being on Thesen Island, good privacy from the neighbours, it's spacious, has a lovely pool deck for sunset drinks, it has comfortable furnishings and a friendly and responsive host. (Thank you Candy for sorting out the DSTV sound immediately when we reported it). We would be keen to stay here again. Thank you!

Lovely unit, very well and considerately stocked with milk, tea, coffee, etc. Comfiest couch ever! Highly recommended.

The villa is amazing and the people who are taking care of it is so nice especially Mrs.Amelia and her husband was so kindness. I totally recommend renting this place.
