Cozy Cabin, swimming pool & garden, close to ocean

CathyRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Had such a great stay at this little cabin! It was super clean, comfy, and had everything I needed. The hosts were really friendly and helpful, which made it even better. I especially loved the birdlife, especially the sunbirds that came to the little feeding station the host set up in the tree. Such a treat to watch them! A perfect, peaceful spot—I’d definitely love to come back! 🌿🐦✨

Mountain & seaside retreat with private hot tub!

AyeshaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We had an absolutely wonderful weekend at Simone and Arno’s place. From the moment we arrived, they were incredibly friendly and responsive. Simone gave us a warm welcome and took the time to walk us through everything, which was super helpful. The place itself is beautiful—neat, tidy, and thoughtfully set up. The hot tub was a highlight for us, and we really appreciated Arno going the extra mile to set it up. It was the perfect way to relax and unwind. The location is fantastic— close to the beach and close to food stores, yet still so peaceful and quiet. It truly felt like a getaway. We’d happily return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and comfortable stay.

Beautiful location and great hospitality. This place comes as advertised if you are looking for a relaxing stay in an area where there is plenty to do. While we didn't need much during our stay, Carin was available to help with anything needed and her place is gorgeous! Would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a place just outside Franschoek!

Carmen is a friendly and responsive host and the place is really nice. You can walk to the beach or to the shops or restaurants in Pringle Bay which is very convenient. There is a Weber braai which we used more than once and the hot tub was a nice extra.

We loved the views of the mountains and the ocean (for sunsets). Thanks for generously offering to let us leave our luggage in the apartment for the day even after checkout! We're very grateful for the little amenities: milk, coffee, tea, sugar, salt, pepper, wine ... the list goes on :-)

Beach cabin getaway in Pringle Bay

GailRating, 5 stars1 week ago
TinTin cabin is a must for those looking for a tranquil getaway in pristine surroundings. Pringle Bay, a quaint seaside town with lovely local deli, Lemon & Lime and super restaurant, Cork, gorgeous for walking and a beach stroll or a quick drive into Betty's Bay if you fancy an outing. But it is the cabin that is a standout. With warm, welcoming hosts who have thought of everything that you could possibly need for your stay, the cabin is a design dream. From the colours replicating the seafoam and coral to the South African design scattered throughout the cabin. The intentioned inclusion of gorgeous pieces that are proudly South African is a wonderful touch, from Pedersen + Lennard furniture to Mungo towels, Lucie de Moyencourt Shellegance sits beautifully in the bathroom and Vorster & Braye adorning the shelves. We highly recommend a visit.

Your guide to Kleinmond

All About Kleinmond

Nestled between the headlands of Cape Nature Walker Bay to the east and the southern suburbs of Cape Town to the west, Kleinmond is a coastal town in South Africa’s Western Cape province where rocky shores and majestic mountains frame low-slung beach houses. The city exudes a laid-back coastal lifestyle, yet it’s located inside a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, and by traveling just a mile or two inland you’ll find yourself in dense forests and nature preserves where 1,500 species of flowering fynbos bushes grow.

There are plenty of activities on offer within easy reach of town, from the relaxing — golfing and wine tasting at some of South Africa’s famous estates, for instance — to the adrenaline-boosting, such as surfing, dune surfing, and whitewater rafting. Like most of the country’s coastline, the Kleinmond shore is a prime place for whale watching, while local lagoons and trails make scenic hiking spots.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Kleinmond

Kleinmond’s dry, temperate climate and mild temperature swings throughout the year make it a pleasant place to visit anytime of year, but spring (October-December) and autumn (April-May) are the best months to stay in Kleinmond, when the days are breezy and the nights, cozy. These months also experience low rainfall, allowing you to make the most of the scenic beauty of the surrounding mountains and forests with open-air activities such as hiking or rafting on the Palmiet River.

A chill descends during the winter months — we’re talking long pants instead of shorts, not puffy jackets and scarves — and the rain picks up, but neither will keep you indoors for long. June through December is widely considered the best time to spot whales in the Atlantic Ocean, and if you’re swimming, you may spy argonauts (distinctively colored female octopuses) during the colder months. Visitors keen on adventure sports like rafting should head to Kleinmond in July, just after the winter peak, strengthening the water current.

Top things to do in Kleinmond

White Water Rafting

The upside to visiting Kleinmond during the rainy months? Head to the Palmiet River for the thrilling experience of paddling the raft downstream atop rushing waters. The best-traveled whitewater rafting route covers a four-kilometer stretch of the river, providing between two and three hours of adventure with exquisite views of the surrounding mountains.

Harbour Road

Stretching southward toward the coast from the town’s main road, lively Harbour Road is home to gift shops, restaurants, galleries, and pubs. Stop by for a true taste of South African barbecue — braai — paired with a local shiraz. If you continue wandering south along Harbour Road, you’ll reach its end, where you’ll be rewarded with a view of waves crashing against the rocks.

Coastal Hiking

A walk into the Kogelberg Nature Reserve, just west of town, gives you access to a network of 20 hiking paths that lead to indescribably beautiful places. The immense biodiversity of the area means that you may catch occasional sightings of rare animals and plants like the round, bumpy-skinned strawberry rain frog, the marsh rose, and, in winter, fynbos bushes in bloom.
