Highly recommend staying at The Martinsburg! Clemens & Audrey are fantastic hosts who are so accommodating and friendly. The homes at The Martinsburg are the coolest tiny homes that felt secure, private, and cozy. Clemens & Audrey fill the home with thoughtful details, with everything you could need, down to dog bowls and dog treats if you indicate that you'll be bringing your pets with you. The retreat really immerses you into the charm of Fredericksburg, with local recommendations and even locally-sourced soap used in the home.

The place was perfect for a 2-day getaway with my friend for my birthday! The hot tub was a nice addition and easy to use! Very close drive to Augusta Vin Winery (our favorite) and a 8-10 minute drive to downtown Fredericksburg. The host was very kind, checking in daily to make sure we were doing well. I would stay here again.

Joe was a great host and very quick on responses. The cabin was beautiful and was as described in the pictures. My wife and I enjoyed our 1 night away from the city. The jacuzzi was amazing to the tranquil setting of the outside patio which we found peaceful. We hope to be back again.

Enjoyed seeing the deer, Cardinals and squirrels during our stay. Relaxed in the hot tub, underneath the beautiful oak trees. House has all the amenities and kitchen items necessary for a home cooked meal. Went shopping at the local grocery store, also nearby. Location is approximately 2 miles from town. Close to several wineries and restaurants. Michael was very responsive to any inquiries. Highly recommended.

Everything was very clean and organized. We had an issue with the a/c, contacted Vanessa she took care of the issue immediately. The house was nicely decorated, plenty of dishes, towels, etc. we really enjoyed the hot tub. Overall a great experience.

We loved our stay here! The house was gorgeous & was everything we needed for anniversary getaway. The hot tub was great, and we loved playing shuffleboard & just relaxing on the couches. Joseph checked in with us to see if we need anything & was extremely helpful. We can’t wait to come back!!!

My wife and I booked a last minute trip Fredericksburg, and our usual spot was already taken — but we’re so glad it was, because this place was an awesome find. The cabin has a rustic feel with tons of character. It was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. It’s located in a quiet, rural area — the perfect escape from city life. We loved watching the sunset over the hills from the porch. The hot tub and fire pit were great for relaxing in the evening, and the stars at night were incredible — way more than we’re used to seeing. The home is tucked away, with an easy 10 min drive to downtown Fredericksburg, all the local wineries, and grocery store. Sha was a great host — super easy to communicate with and made sure everything was taken care of from start to finish. We had a great time and would definitely stay here again.

Nice place, the river area was nice and private

Came here with my partner for my birthday. We had so many plans to go do things for example going to San Antonio. We decided just to stay and relax after getting to the bunkhouse. We enjoyed the privacy, the peaceful surroundings and all of the nature. Loved the set up of the house. It was a very cozy vibe, and it was lovely to be able to take a bath and that huge tub water was definitely hot and enjoyable. Seeing all of the animals was such a plus the sunsets are breathtaking. We even got to experience a little storm and that was awesome being Stuck in the house watching a movie and just enjoying our time. Would definitely recommend staying here especially if you’re wanting to get away from the city life. We would definitely come back. Also the town Boerne was very cool. Had a lot to do for it being a small town we recommend trying the huge cinnamon roll the size of your face at Richter Bakhaus. Relaxing in the pool with that view is something we miss and hope to experience again soon

The location was convenient and also nice and peaceful. The house itself was clean and charming with great views and plenty of space for a small group. The patio area was nice, but we didn’t use the pool because it needed a bit of cleaning. We enjoyed our stay here.

Such a fun cabin! Very cozy and clean. The hosts were very helpful and flexible. Loved the local recommendations and complementary drinks. This stay was an extra plus being so close to the wineries and a cute chocolate shop. The instructions were accurate in finding the place. Bring cold food or food for toaster oven is best. Beds are super comfy and I appreciated the air purifier! Loved the decor and porch area. Thank y’all for the perfect getaway!

We had a great stay! Everything was just as stated in the description..maybe better! The pool area is so nice, and the hot tub was perfect. We did encounter a few critters but I would say that's expected given the surroundings. Definitely make sure you wear sandals around the pool area .I almost stepped on a scorpion! We loved EVERYTHING about this place and would definitely come back and stay again.

Great get away ! If you are looking for a private and peaceful place to stay, this is it ! Not just that but Cathy and Tim were very helpful and very fast to solve anything we were wondering about. Kids had a blast at the pool and not to mention looking at goats & deers running around the property. This place felt so welcoming we didn’t want to leave. Definitely going back soon ! My husband and I enjoyed our anniversary and Easter at this beautiful property! We loved that it was secluded and we were able to enjoy sitting on the back porch and watch deer. One of the special treats…They provide farm fresh eggs, Coke, Coke Zero, hot tea, and coffee. Additionally biscuits & o.j. (When you let them know)! There was a storm that came in and we felt safe, never lost power, and they checked on us to make sure we were ok! We were not focused on tv time or our phones, but internet is limited. The location is secluded, which is exactly what we were looking for. There are games and a dvd player with movies, and books too! The drive is absolutely gorgeous, but it does take about 25-30 minutes to get to Fredericksburg. Which was perfectly fine with us to enjoy time together! The time we spent at the cabin was perfect! You’ll definitely want to grab your bags and reserve your stay now!

We had a nice time! Very peaceful, clean and quiet place. I like that has minimal decors and spacious. Dana and Kelsey were excellent in communicating and messaging us about their instructions.

Came to Fredericksburg as kiddos were playing in golf tournament at Lady Bird. Perfect place for a family of four.

The Gumbo Getaway was a beautiful secluded space just a few minutes outside of the town. Well equipped home. Kelsey was proactive in her communications throughout our stay and I even ran into her while walking my dog, extremely friendly and made me feel right at home.

This place was great for my husband and I! Small, cozy, and peaceful. We had a great stay and would stay again in the future!

Loved the house. Great place to stay with puppies! Super cute and comfortable. Fresh baked cookies and tasty breakfast were an extra bonus. Would stay there again!
