Bed and breakfast vacation rentals in Kerala

Varun’ place was a well-run small hotel right on the shore of the backwaters in Kerala. There was a pool, many different areas to relax with a book. Canoes were available to paddle down stream. Varun was very helpful in arranging transportation for us, recommending activities and pointing us in the direction of a special art biennale which happened to be taking place in Kochi while we were there. The restaurant had a nice blend of Indian, continental with vegetarian options. We are planning on staying here on our next trip and highly recommend it. Gregory and Michèle

It’s a simple stay with basic amenities which is worth the price, Sheeba is very responsive, friendly and upto the point. She also provided us Breakfast without any extra price which is very nice of her and also agreed to a small personal favour. I’d recommend this property to anyone who’s up for a budget friendly and looking for something which is near to prominent places as well!

This was a truly wonderful stay for me. Lakshman and his wife are incredibly helpful, welcoming and friendly - they went above and beyond on numerous occasions to ensure I had a nice day. A special mention to the local Coorgi food that was prepared for me - so tasty and a great chance to sample local cuisine. Finally, the property itself is lovely - it’s housed on Lakshman’s coffee estate, in peaceful surroundings and near to Nagarhole. There’s also three sweet dogs to play with during your stay - would highly recommend! :)

What Sarah and Morden have built is very impressive and Sarah a brilliant cook. Clean lodge with wildlife surrounding - great bird (and monkey) watching. Just be aware location is very remote (as mentioned) and can get a bit cold at night. But hosts went above and beyond - giving us lifts and organising transport. Glad to be supporting all the work they do for stray dogs!

Anthony is an amazing host. We all felt like it was our Home. The rooms were clean and the surrounding ambience was awesome. He gave us precise information about how to go around and extended all the help whenever required. Totally recommended.

There are 3 rooms situated on the 1st floor, I had the chance to get the one with a big balcony facing the main street. It was extremely clean, nice and bright and its windows-doors had very useful mosquito screens. There was a comfortable double bed, a ceiling fan and aircon (really needed during my stay), a small desk and a little suspended ‘cupboard’ for the clothes and a modern beautiful private bathroom. There’s a fridge on the 1st floor that guests can use and of course, an available equipped kitchen. Very well located, the whole apartment is well thought (a recent construction), you notice that Colbridge and his wife Shalini care about their home stay business; they are a good team, pretty well organized working together. Colbridge, the brain of the hospitality services, sent me through whatsapp dozens of information related to history, places to visit and food. He is very knowledgeable (not only about Kochi) and it was good to exchange with him. Besides, he can help you to organize trips, call a tuk tuk and find solutions for your queries. Shalini is the heart of the place… she is welcoming, warm, intelligent and sweet, with a great sense of humour. A gifted cook, she prepares wonder ful breakfasts (Indian, European, American…), tailored to requests. I admired how she cared about guest’s well-being even when she was very busy. Shalini likes to exchange with her hosts and she gave me an unique opportunity to learn more about the culture. She is a very good company too, I will not forget all our laughters and hope to stay with them again. I fully recommend this place for your stay.

Joseph and his wife Nimy were so warm, friendly, helpful and attentive. They have a wonderful building that is quiet ( by urban India standards), yet 2 blocks from the center of Fort Cochin. There are about 10 rooms catering to a diverse international group of guests, Indians included. During our stay the people were fascinating - women in business, India’s top stand up comedian, a retired United Nations lawyer, a trainer teaching local women how to start their own small businesses, and a retired international development professional on a world jaunt. The morning breakfast was the best I’ve eaten at an Airbnb- wonderful fruit, fresh blended fruit juice, yogurt, cereal, a savory hot Indian dish, native blue pea tea, and more, all served on a covered rooftop. It is also close to the Biennale main venues. They were very helpful in arranging an interesting canoe trip in the backwaters, alerted us to a Puja, and helped with arranging transportation as needed. Fair price, good people.

My father and I had such a lovely stay here! Beautifully clean rooms, a wonderful welcome and a delicious breakfast. Also the best night’s sleep we’ve had in India yet. Thoroughly ecommended!

the beach is within 10 minutes swimming in swimwear (women) possible the family is very welcoming and available at any time to inform and accompany. Jimmy gave me my itinerary and made himself available to answer my questions before I arrived in less than 10 minutes Emily moved to Alleppey Station to show the way to the rickshow. Upon arrival, the whole family welcomed me warmly with a smile Rita makes good food from Kerala and adapts to my needs... to be enjoyed absolutely.!! The places are clean and very spacious what a pleasure to have spent these few days at this guesthouse. i would come back without hesitation

The property aptly matched the description and is located in a very calm and peaceful environment with very good accessibility. All the required amenities are available to suit short and long term stays. The host, was jovial, responsive and accommodative. I would highly recommend this property for any one visiting mysore and looking for a cordial stay.

Highly recommended! This place is a gem in Coonoor. And the owner is great guy! Right from getting to the property, the actual room, cleaninnes and the magical views from the property - all this were a delight for us. Additionally, the caretaker Mr. Guna is a helpful and responsive person for all your needs during your stay. The owner, Mr. Gerald, helped with some nice local suggestions and transport contacts. P.S. - Do try the fresh Dosas served in the morning breakfast, they're amazing!

I had a wonderful stay at Ashin's cottage in Munnar! From the start, Ashin's warm hospitality made us feel right at home. The cottage is peaceful, serene, and perfectly located, with easy access to Munnar's attractions like Gap Road and the town itself. The road is in great condition, making travel hassle-free. The home-cooked meals by Ashin’s mother were a true highlight—delicious, fresh, and made with locally grown ingredients. We also enjoyed a plantation walk, where Ashin shared fascinating insights into local spices and farming, which was definitely worth the extra cost. The entire experience was memorable—peaceful surroundings, warm family hospitality, and authentic local cuisine. Whether you're traveling solo, as a couple, or with family, this place is safe, comfortable, and perfect for relaxation. I highly recommend staying here for a unique, peaceful retreat in Munnar!

It's a nice new house. Very neat and clean. Host stays in the ground floor and all the three rooms are on the first floor. There is spacious living room and balcony in the front and back, both with scenic views. Vijeesh is a good host who is always available on call and very helpful. He also offers tasty home made food at an additional but nominal charge. This place is highly recommendable and we will love to come back again in the future.

My 9 year old son and I stayed here. My son was excited to stay in Muraleedharan sir's place after seeing the photos. The host's family members and his caretaker were friendly to us and we had a comfortable stay. The quality and taste of food was really nice and worth the price.

We really enjoyed our stay at Jayan‘s home. We were warmly welcomed and taken care of. We received great recommendations on how to explore the neighborhood/temple, where to eat, how to get a SIM card and how to organize our further travels. There are lot of antique objects to explore in the house (also from our hometown Vienna!) Jayan and his wife provided us a really comfortable and nice stay (and a delicious breakfast as well :)).

Aparna was an extremely helpful and responsive host. She suggested and helped us to connect with the right people to do the activities making our stay in Varkala memorable. She is a very knowledgeable and friendly host. The place was very clean and nicely done. It is one of the best BnBs I have stayed in. it is located in the middle of Varkala to say. It is a cosy and quiet place with Kerala style architecture.
