Cottage vacation rentals in Kasshabog Lake

We really enjoyed our stay at Dock Cottage. It was modern elegance mixed with warm vintage touches. It had everything we needed to make our stay really comfortable and we loved the dock, hot tub and kayaking on the lake. It was quiet and peaceful and felt far away from everything yet we were an easy walk from Miss Nelle’s coffee shop and ice cream stand where we went each morning for a coffee (opens at 7am), Muskoka Brewing Company for a beer and a few other Baysville shops. The communication and instructions were really helpful and we received prompt replies if we had a question so it felt like we were really taken care of. We will definitely be back and recommend it to friends.

We had an amazing stay at Greg’s cottage. It was the perfect getaway and the perfect mix between cozy cottage and fancy amenities! We loved the sauna and the hot tub, they were amazing additions to Greg’s. The beds were super comfortable as well which is always a plus at a cottage. Greg was always responsive and was super helpful. We cannot wait to come back to this cozy cottage! Thanks Greg!

Wait.. there is no option for 6 stars!?! Wow, where to begin!?! From check-in to check-out, our group had a fantastic time. Our host was super friendly and easy to connect with at all times. Our group had 8; 6 adults, a teen & a child. Everyone was entertained at all times from the karaoke machine, the games, the hot tub, the firepit, the kayaks & canoes, the swimming, and the stairway to haven, which was truly breathtaking taking!!! The town of Halliburton was a short 10 minutes away where we enjoyed some shopping, lunch & coffee. We were celebrating my parents 50th wedding anniversary; 78 & 73 years young and they rocked that staircase several times! We frequent Air B N Bs often and this is by far my new favourite. There is already talk of a return visit in the future. Highland Bliss is gourgeous, loaded with all the amenities, is spotless, super comfortable and my family is so thankful to Marcia for allowing us to visit her beautiful space and create lasting memories!

We had a wonderful stay! The place was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The host was communicative and made check-in super easy. The neighbourhood was quiet, and we felt right at home during our visit. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others!

We stayed here and it was just a beautiful place. Very private and peaceful such a beautiful view. Marcin had a hot tub, kayak boats and paddle boat we used. Just FYI though, bring insect repellent. There are some flies especially outside. Driving to the place seems like it’s so far away but that’s the point, to be secluded and appreciate the beauty of nature. Cabin had all the essentials. Marcin responds within minutes if you ask something, very much appreciated. Thank you Marcin.

We stayed here for 3 days as part of a mother/daughter getaway. It was perfect! We sat in the sun on the lower deck, we sat in the sun on the dock, we sat in the sun porch in the mornings and evenings, we sat and watched the hockey game in the cozy livingroom, we ate good food and laughed a lot! Thankful for a wonderful stay!

We had such a great time staying here for our little family vacation. It had everything we could want for a quiet, private and at-home beach trip. The kayaks and paddle boards were great, and the kids loved to play in the sand and explore the shallow, sandy waters. It was very comfortable and convenient to have the house and its amenities at our disposal while enjoying the sun, sand and water. We spent our evenings by the fire pit. The kitchen has everything you could need and a bbq to make cooking a breeze. Plenty of towels and bedding. The mattresses are quite soft (which isn’t our preference) but that didn’t bothers us. Rebecca was very helpful and responses when there were a couple things missing. We would so so happy to come back again!

We stayed for my wife’s 30th birthday celebration. Alex was extremely flexible with an early check in to facilitate setting up decorations prior to her arrival. He was fast to respond and very helpful with any issues we had. The cottage was beautiful and had everything we needed. I don’t think the pictures did this place justice, the view from the backyard was incredible.

We loved our stay here! It is a beautiful cottage. We would love to visit again some time!

It was great to be back again. The place was wonderful again and we truly appreciate all that Tim & Cindy do to keep the place up and looking nice. We also noticed that there was a new wood stove which was a lot nicer for keeping the place warm at night as we had a couple of chilly nights, so thank you for that upgrade. we really enjoy the place and the location in proximity to the lake. My family and I really enjoyed our stay at Mackenzies place. Great host that communicated very well with us. Property is great for kids with a beach front and 10 minute drive to the town of buckhorn.

This was my second stay at Stephen’s place and it did not disappoint yet again! This was the perfect cabin getaway, complete with a very clean, beautiful and cozy cottage paired with so much to enjoy outside and on the water. We cannot say enough positive things about our stay and how great of a host Stephen always is!! Would definitely recommend, and I look forward to another visit in the future!

Fantastic stay! Clean, beautiful views, hot tub was amazing and fishing off the dock was pretty good. NOTE: Proximity to road was a bit of a thing for the sound. That being said it didn't diminish our enjoyment of our stay. Thank you again!

What a fantastic family get together we had! There were six of us, all adults, and the cottage was perfect…very comfortable with lots of space for everyone. It was great having coffee on the deck in the morning and then spending time down by the water soaking it all in. We so appreciated having the firepit to use at night and the sunroom quickly became our favourite spot for meals and generally hanging out together and playing games. Michelle and Ryan are amazing hosts — friendly, helpful, and always quick to respond to any questions. We highly recommend this wonderful getaway!

Our stay at Mike and Elaine’s place was simply amazing. Beautiful spot on the lake. It was so nice to relax on the dock, jump in for a swim, go for a paddleboard or kayak, enjoy the fire at night, or play some games in the screened-in muskoka room. They really have thought of everything here. As hosts, they went above and beyond to make sure our time there was perfect. Couldn’t ask for a better spot, or better hosts.

I have stayed at over 130 AirBnBs, likely 40 of them cottages, and this may be my favourite. The effort and care put into making this property the ultimate lake experience is overwhelming. We didn't even have the chance to sit at every beautiful spot - there just weren't enough days! The beach - the dock - the lake fire pit - the hill fire pit - the deck fireplace - the gazebo with the full table and chairs - the perfect dining table overlooking the whole lake... And that's just outside. The beds are incredibly comfortable, the soaker tub sublime, and the main living room as cozy a spot as we've ever been. Our original AirBnB was not as advertised, and Tomek made his place available at 6 pm on a Friday night for the weekend. He didn't just save our weekend -- he made it better. I can't say enough good things. Book this spot. If you're looking for a cottage weekend relaxing outside, it might be the best I've ever seen. Thank you Tomek.

Everything as expected, except the difficulty getting from vehicle to cottage. I have severe assessibility issues and one other person beside myself although not as severe as myself had some as well. With railing and mainly steps to water getting there doable. However the heavy stones and steep incline from driveway to stone steps and no railing with stone steps necessitated the 2 other guests supporting us other 2 quite a bit to get in and out. It looks as though you may be in the process of trying to address this problem. Certainly looked as though some leveling and tiering with retaining walls and railings might really help. That said, so grateful to have had the time at your beautiful spot.

The cottage was nice, clean and quiet, easy to find and close enough to town (Lakefield) to secure any items we forgot, and a Tim's for those who can't go without. The waterway was quiet out to the larger lake area, easy enough to paddleboard or row out to. Plenty of fish off the dock if that is your go to. Not sure if it was just the season, but no mosquito bites at all, and with no bug spray on.. maybe we got lucky. Sean was easy and pleasant to communicate with, no issues at all during our stay.

Nicole has a great cottage with an awesome location. It has everything you need to have a comfortable stay. She was very kind and left us a smores kit and some wine. At one point the power went out because of a storm but conveniently Nicole was staying in the bunkie so she was able to take care of beeping smoke detectors. She was also kind enough to take our trash one of the days she was running errands. Overall anyone staying here is bound to have an amazing time. From the beautiful lake to the peaceful home, you're guaranteed to enjoy yourself.

We absolutely fell in love with Ken’s cottage on Stoney Lake. The cottage was cozy and clean and well cared for. We love that the cottage opens right onto a dock. It feels like you’re on a houseboat! Despite there being cottages nearby it was so quiet and we also loved using the canoe he provided to explore the lake. Our favourite part by far was the private Nordic spa. It was so relaxing and peaceful to have this private space to relax in a stunning natural setting. The neighbours we met were very warm and we also love the nearby communities. It’s close to Lakefield for ammenities and small town charm. We love the care that Ken has put into this unique experience and we plan on coming back twice a year to recharge and reconnect with nature and ourselves. We will also be referring family and friends. Thanks Ken for letting us use your little slice of paradise.

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at Priolo on the Bay – Moody Escape, and it was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that Andy is a truly exceptional host. Every detail was thoughtfully curated to create a luxurious yet cozy escape. The cottage itself is immaculate – modern, stylish, and unbelievably comfortable. It strikes the perfect balance between high-end living and rustic charm. Tucked away in the heart of nature, it still offers every convenience imaginable: from fully stocked cutlery and snacks to campfire treats, firewood for both the sauna and outdoor firepit, a gas oven, extra lighters—you name it, it was there.The interiors are spotless and beautifully designed, making the entire space feel like a warm, peaceful retreat. Sitting by the fire, unwinding in the sauna, or just enjoying the serene forest surroundings—it all felt like a dream.This is the kind of place that makes you not want to leave!

South Bay Cottage is truly a perfect and lovely lake getaway. Drive off the main road and into your own private cove outfitted with everything you need for a wonderful stay. Once inside, the view of Lake Stoney can be seen through the large windows from anywhere in the main room. The sunsets and starry skies were so peaceful - and even though locals told us it was unusual - we actual had an amazing view of the Northern Lights! We loved that this cottage included all the linens we needed and lots of areas to get cozy and read a book - including the extra-special gazebo. While the kitchen area is small - it is well equipped with everything we needed. Close to great hikes (Petroglyph Provincial Park, High Falls at Eels Creek, Warsaw Caves, and many others.) Also great to explore the area's great golf courses, Wanderlight Alpaca walks (a must do), Peterborough Pete's hockey, Peterborough theatre, and amazing restaurants in Lakefield (Loon, Cassia, and more). Melissa was a wonderful host!
