We had a great extended long weekend at Gabriella’s and we truly loved our stay! Couldn’t get over the gorgeous sunsets every evening. We loved the fire pit and enjoyed the beautiful views every night. We also liked the close proximity to Bon Echo where we hiked and explored! It was nice quiet lake. Thank you for hosting us!

Bongopix is an incredibly unique and wonderful place to stay. The cabin was peaceful, comfortable, and was so full of character. When the weather was good we went for incredible hikes, when the weather was bad we watched videos and played snes, it was absolutely perfect. The bar served delicious food, drink, and we got to hear some great live music. As hosts, Bongo and Andrea were friendly, helpful, and we felt incredibly welcome. Such a great find in the area and we would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a unique place to stay in the area.

My family had the pleasure of staying here for the first week in June 2025. We had a fabulous week enjoying this fabulous cottage and its surroundings. The inside offered us all the comfort and things we needed, including an awesome hot tub "tub" complete with rolled towels, clothes pegs and plastic glasses! Everything was exceptionally clean and there were lots of great books and games to keep us entertained as we lazed around the beautiful property. The kayaks and paddle boards were so much fun as we explored both directions on the river. Honestly the property was SO nice we hardly wanted to leave it but we did manage to get out a few days to visit Ottawa and the cute towns of Perth & Almonte. Two fabulous restaurants we visited and recommend is Joe's Italian Kitchen (In Almonte) and Michael's Table in Perth. It was so nice to be able to bring our dog Russ who had the BEST time all week enjoying the water, boats and watching the wild life from his little fur rug in sunny bay window.

Really enjoyed our stay. No complaints, would stay again in the future. Thanks again!

Fun place! Inside: big kitchen with plenty of utensils, great views, upper loft mega-space, big bathroom, games, Internet/TV (Netflix worked great). Very impressed with the bed comfort. Outside: great deck and dock, nice chairs and picnic table, good parking fit 2 vehicles, road noise & activity was VERY minimal despite our initial concern, 3 kayaks + canoe, easy boat access (shore or dock), still waters most of the time. There are only 3 life jackets. Kayaks are open top style, paddles are stiff (good thing). The islands are just a short distance away. They looked far at first, but I ended up exploring around at least 10 Island before heading back. A seasoned paddler could easily get into town. Winds can pick up later. Must be great fishing here- didn't try. Highly recommend this place for a great time on the river and easy access to nearby attractions. The heating/ cooling system looked awesome but we did not need it.

Thanks for a great stay. We had everything we needed in the house with wonderful access to a lovely sandy beach. We enjoyed the use of the paddle boards to explore the expansive shoreline. The location is near some walking trails in the woods which our dog really enjoyed. The cottage was adjacent a public beach which was busy on the weekends, however nice and siren on the weekdays to sit and watch the sunrise. We would certainly recommend and stay again.

The cottage was great! Perfect for a weekend out of the city, our group and I loved the entire experience. Janice was very helpful and even left a very sweet personal touch for our stay. Would definitely stay again.

We had such a good time! The pictures didn’t do the place justice, we were pleasantly surprised when we got to the cottage.

Check in was very simple and straightforward, the cabin was super clean and comfortable. Kitchen has almost all the utensils you need, there was even cooking spray and salt/pepper available. No bath towels or kitchen towels, but you would probably want to bring your own anyway. 5/5 would stay here again and again!

We arrived by bike after a long grueling day peddling into a head wind, Dave was thoughtful and greeted us with a cold bottle of Gatorade and sliced apples. Dave and his Dad, Brian, were very welcoming hosts, they have a beautiful property, we enjoyed meeting them and would definitely stay again if we are in the Picton neighbourhood.

This was a fun, peaceful trailer park resort with amazing amenities and gorgeous surroundings. While the trailer homes were close to each other, the fact that it was a quiet family environment, and that our spot was positioned towards the woods and had just the right window dressings, meant that we still had all the privacy we wanted. We would definitely consider coming back again. Jacqueline's place was a great place to rest up after a fun day.

The perfect place for a weekend get away. The photos dont do it justice. Quiet and peaceful to get away from the city life. The pool was amazing, and everything you could imagine needing was there. Very clean and comfortable. Wish I was there right now.

It was a great stay and very accommodating. Kids enjoyed the pool table and foosball indoors as well as the pool and lake outside. The kitchen and view of the lake was amazing. Lots of fishing was done from the docks and petal boat and some paddling from the kayak and paddle board (we brought this).

We had a great time staying in Kevin’s home. He is extremely kind and helpful! We felt right at home and very comfortable. We caught a couple of fish right off his dock! Beautiful home and really beautiful scenery. We will definitely come back!!

We just got back from a lovely stay at the cottage on Spectacle Lake, and even though the weather wasn’t on our side, we truly had a great time. The rain kept us mostly indoors, but the cozy fireplace turned out to be a blessing we spent our time just relaxing, listening to the rain, and soaking in the peaceful vibe. The cottage itself is tucked away in such a private, serene spot. Waking up to the sound of birds and looking out over the calm water from every window was incredibly calming. Everything was so clean and well cared for. Waking up to birdsong and calm water views from every window was such a treat. I was thrilled to finally spot a few beaver lodges in the Madawaska Valley — a small dream come true! The cottage was clean, the docks looked great, and having fresh drinking water available was such a thoughtful and sustainable touch. We didn’t get the clear skies we hoped for to stargaze, but that just gives us a reason to come back and we definitely will.

Myself and my family spent a great memorable weekend at Slav's place on the lake. The house and settings were perfect. The place was clean and new, without clutter, and still very comfortable. The host was proactive and very responsive. Thank you, Slav and I hope to return shortly.

We agree with all the other great reviews of this place. This is an “end of the road” kind of place. No amenities such as pizzas, bars and so on. Instead you get a profound sense of place once you're here. . People who come here aren’t just passing through they’re here to connect with nature and others. We were there during the off season and really enjoyed the peacefulness, canoeing to the waterfall, doing some fishing and sitting on the sunlit porch overlooking the bay. The hosts of this airbnb , Darrnel and Mike, give it character. They were very genuine and thoughtful in their desire to make sure everything was going well and to ensure that we were having a good time. We can't thank them enough for making our time there so memorable. A big thank you to both of you.

Our stay was wonderful, the property is beautifully located on the lake with amazing views. The property itself was very clean, with all the necessary amenities and more. It is a very cozy cottage where we felt at home during our visit. We would definitely recommend this location for anyone looking for a serene getaway.

My sister and I spent the weekend here and could not have had a better time! The lake was so beautiful and relaxing and the cabin was the perfect size. Angela is a top notch host and anyone would be lucky to stay here!

Maria’s home was beautiful with a spectacular view right on the water. We enjoyed time on the dock, kayaking, paddle boarding and canoeing in the bay. Maria was kind enough to provide us wood for the fire pit and the kids loved cooking s’mores at night. The hot tub was relaxing after a long day exploring the area. Maria’s home was clean and comfortable and we felt right at home. Thank you Maria for being a wonderful host and sharing your beautiful home!

The cottage was absolutely beautiful! Lots of private space and gorgeous views. The water was nice and Sandy, not weedy or rocky - perfect. Kim always responded super quickly and made all the instructions super clear. We were celebrating a birthday and they left some bday cupcakes and a sweet note along with it - lovely touch. Would recommend 10/10
