Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Jefferson County

Our stay here was wonderful! The house was beautiful and well appointed. They literally thought of everything. It felt like walking into home. The location was so serene and peaceful! We highly recommend!

Jacqualine’s place feels more like you’re staying at a friend’s HOME. Great quality furniture, linens, towels, kitchen essentials, etc. — not just a rental filled with inexpensive furniture and supplies. Beautiful wide windows in the living space that look out at the river. Sturdy dock that was perfect for our kids to swim off of. Private parking with space to turn around so you’re not backing out onto a busy street. Plenty of spots to view amazing sunsets. The list of positives could go on…. Located in a quiet village with a pub, small market, coffee shop and a few boutiques, it’s a great location to set up home base if you want to be within easy driving distance (+/- 25min) of more touristy towns like Clayton and Alexandria Bay but still have some peace and quiet on the river.

I have stayed at quite a few Airbnb's over the past years, but Mary's place would be at the top of my list. Swan's Nest is the most well-equipped, cleanest, and organized Airbnb I have ever encountered. My three sisters and I spent a week in the Thousand Islands, enjoying the beautiful area and spending time together. All of the bedrooms were very comfortable and having three bathrooms worked out wonderfully for us. The kitchen had everything we could possibly need and more! Every night we enjoyed playing cards in the bar room downstairs. We also enjoyed late afternoon chats and reading in the downstairs sun room, which included a wonderful fireplace. Swan's Nest is located perfectly for visits to Clayton, Alexandria Bay, Gananoque, boat tours, and the many parks with hiking trails. We loved everything! I highly recommend Swan's Nest. It was an amazing Airbnb and located in a perfect area to explore!

We had a wonderful stay at the Easton Cottage! It was very clean and well put together. There are so many nice things to say about her place! It's a great house with plenty of space, we enjoyed the decor and although it is located close to the downtown area- it does not feel that way-there is plenty of privacy with a very cute backyard. She included so many little thoughtful details in the place from the well stocked kitchen to the outlets/chargers in the bedrooms. She is an excellent hostess!

The house is spacious, clean, and comfortable, with every common amenity. The owner was apparently considering customers' needs in detail, and prepared everything in advance. We especially like the private dock where we parked our boat, with a electric charging cable readily usable. A private marina is just across the small bay 50 yards away from the dock, with a waterfront gas station and a boat launching ramp conveniently available. It's also a very safe and quiet area. We definitely will consider renting the house again when we go back to the Thousand Island Park in the future.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this adorable lake house on Ontario Lake. The location is truly exceptional—situated right on the water, it offered breathtaking views and picture-perfect sunsets each evening. The setting was peaceful, private, and ideal for a relaxing escape. The home itself had a unique charm, with a few characterful quirks typical of a lakeside cottage, none of which detracted from the comfort or tranquility of our stay. The host provided a well-organized and helpful guidebook, which included clear instructions for the house and thoughtful recommendations for local attractions and dining. Overall, this was a delightful and restorative retreat, and we would gladly return. Highly recommended for those seeking serenity and natural beauty in a cozy lakeside setting.

It’s a great place right on the trails great location

Tyler was extremely flexible as we had to check in super early after a long drive. The place was very clean, everything was easily accessible, and it was a cozy. Just enough space for my partner and I, Definitely would book again.

This is a wonderful little rental on an absolutely stunning property. Top of the line amenities- everything you could ever need to live comfortably:washer/dryer, dishwasher, modern kitchen, really strong wifi, and two smart TVs with all the streaming options- but it still manages to feel like you are staying in a secluded cabin in the mountains. Gorgeous acreage with beautiful views and deer who visit every day. Quick drive into Watertown on well maintained roads. My dog was in heaven here! By far the best thing about this Airbnb is the host- Andrea. She is amazing. You would be hard pressed to find a lovelier, more helpful, more proactive host anywhere on this site. I am so glad to have found this place and met her! I travel for work and have stayed in many airbnbs all across the country and this is one of my top 3 bookings of all time.

Les and Marlene are generous and thoughtful hosts. The location is stunning with a beautiful view up the St Lawrence River and the town of Clayton, which is less than 2 miles away. The cottage is comfortable and well furnished. Les and Marlene were in residence in their cottage during our stay (it is a duplex) and very responsive and considerate. We were there for the April 8 eclipse and hope to go back when the weather is warmer. I highly recommend this cottage!

It was perfect for us. It is small, but truly cozy and comfortable, perfect for 2 adults. As it was mid to late March in the north country we loved the fireplace and used it almost every night! The apartment was neat, clean, orderly and had everything we needed! If we go back to that area we will definitely look to rent there again!!
