Gadestatt is a traditional Maiensäss. A Maiensäss is a cultural peculiarity of Swiss history. These simple but beautiful wooden buildings used to be inhabited on the Alps during the summer. From here the cows were guarded and cheese was made from fresh milk. Gadestatt offers you an authentic overnight accommodation with lots of charm and attention to detail. The accommodation is very centrally located, just 8 minutes' walk from Interlaken Ost train station. The Höhenmatte and the view there of the Jungfrau (mountain) is about 5 minutes away by foot. The house was built in 1911 and is a typical, old listed Swiss house. The kitchen is large and well-equipped. Each window offers a beautiful view of the garden. The mountains are also visible. We try to do everything to make you feel comfortable with us.
