Nikos was a really great host, and the two housekeepers were very accommodating and helpful! The house and outdoor area are very cozy and well maintained. There were six of us and it was very spacious. The kitchen equipment was rather simple and there is only one stove in the kitchens, with elaborate cooking of six we came to our limits, but on request we were immediately helped out with other kitchen utensils. The neighborhood was nice and in the village cute restaurants are within walking distance, but care for the neighboring dogs. There were a lot of cute cats and goats in the area. In September, I like to pack long clothes for the evening, as it gets rather cool in the mountains. For larger purchases, you have to plan longer trips. The very beautiful beaches in the south can be reached in about 20–30 minutes by car. Overall, the area and scenery are really very beautiful!

Janna is really a good Super-Host. Communication fast, friendly and helpful. The house, garden and the surrounding is full of charm and history and the nature and landscapes around are fantastic. Highly appreciated and recommended. Thanks a lot Janna.

We were a company of 8 people and we had an amazing time in Villa Askyfou. The house is a truly traditional diamond of Crete and I definitely recommend it. Jiannis and Maria were so friendly and made us feel so comfortable with their hospitality. They also help us find the best places for both traditional food and to explore this beautiful island. Hope in the future that we make it visit it again in summer period, when I’m sure will also worth it.

The villa is a gem in the white mountains, a homely abode with plenty of outside space to enjoy the peace, views and sounds of the sheeps bells in the valley below. There are a couple easy hikes from the doorstep and the village is not far from Hora Sfakion to catch a ferry to the bottom of the Samaria Gorge - a must visit. Despina was so kind and welcoming, showing us around the villa on arrival and providing some local info. We felt at home straight away and didn't want to leave come the end of our 3 night stay.
