We loved staying there. Loved the history of the house and made us feel welcome and right at home we plan on going back and explore more of that area in the future.

Gleydys was the best host ever! She made us feel so welcome in her home and provided the most delicious breakfast which was a bonus! She shared wonderful history with us and offered great suggestions for surrounding activities and sights. We fel so much love from her and I will definitely return to stay with her again. She's the Best!!!

Tripp and Todd's home is gorgeous, and they are both so friendly and accommodating it feels like coming home. The unit has a private entrance if you want to utilize it though I more often came through the front door instead just to chat with them. They're both very knowledgeable about the area and made great recommendations, suggesting some food options that were new to me even though I am regularly in the are. The bed was very comfortable and the downstairs suite is very well set up for a stay. I highly recommend their place!

This country house is well located, quiet, off the beaten path, but easy to reach. The rooms are super clean and well appointed. The Hosts are very social and take great care and interest in their guests. They are great communicators, and appreciate all feedback. Best advice to potential guests....must like dogs and good conversation,( and movies). And coordinate plans closely with hosts to take advantage of their local tips and advice. and Respect for house rules will make for a smooth stay for everyone. Travelers can not go wrong choosing to stay with Laura and Mike, they were/are the best.

My partner and I had a wonderful stay here! Bill welcomed us warmly and provided helpful recommendations for the area. Great location a short walk from Main Street. The room was clean and we enjoyed sitting by the fire after our adventure, imagining who had been sitting there nearly 200 years before us.

My boyfriend and I were looking for a quick getaway and reserved a two night stay at Blessings. When we booked we knew nothing about Jacksonville and only after I started looking into Blessings MORE did I realize it's an award-winning Bed and Breakfast! Needless to say, the award they received is justified. The home is beautiful inside and out. Their large front porch is my favorite spot. The Innkeeper Gwenn made us feel at home from the moment we stepped inside. Lovely conversation and hospitality. Gwenn told us she's always wanted to be an Innkeeper and you can tell by the way she keeps her home that it's a passion of hers. My favorite meal of our stay was our first breakfast: poached pears with raspberry glaze, coffee, orange juice, fresh waffles with a scoop of ice cream, whipped cream and syrup all next to a big window at a table for two with china and fancy glasses. Decadent? Yes. But isn't a getaway supposed to be? The Tranquility room itself is beautiful. It has a comforting air that let's you know you can put your feet up and relax. The clawed bathtub was glorious. There were multiple robes, extra towels, bath salts and other little details (sewing kit?! fake fireplace that flickers throughout the night?!) that we kept finding around the room. And if that isn't enough, Gwenn offered us milk and cookies at bedtime within 30 minutes of meeting us. Um, yes please. My own mother didn't give me milk and cookies at bedtime! So if you're looking to be treated like you've come home, Gwenn delivers. We'll be back!

Rachelle was amazing! She's friendly, helpful and makes an amazing breakfast! The home is clean and I loved the history of the home she shared with us. Rachelle made us feel comfortable and like we'd been friends forever!

A charming place with fantastic hosts! Hosts are very friendly and immediately made us feel welcome. The accommodations were extremely clean and we had everything needed for a comfortable stay. The breakfast was a bonus and the food was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend staying here and we will definitely book again when visiting the area.

We enjoyed our last minute booking at The Villa Toscana! The house was a cool, eclectic space and located in Boystown, a bustling neighborhood with lots to do and see within walking distance from the house. Having a sink in the room was really nice, since the upstairs rooms all share one bathroom (as is detailed in the listing), and they provided a nice variety of breakfast items, which was above and beyond. Thanks Ashley!

We had a great time staying here. Christiane and her husband are both very gracious hosts - they had breakfast available for us every morning & made us feel right at home.

It was a wonderful stay with a very hospitable host. We loved the access to the beautiful kitchen with instant hot water for tea. The homemade baked goods were a delicious treat in the morning. The room was immaculate. The back rooms face the tracks for the busy Chicago Transit Blue Line, so if noise bothers you, ask for a room facing the street.

Mary's place was a great location for our short trip to Chicago! It was a short Uber drive from the airport, and a short drive to the All-State Arena. We did arrive late at night due to flight delays and opted for an Uber versus the train. I am glad we did cause it seems like the train station is under construction for the side we needed and would have been a bit more of a walk departing from the other side, but definitely not a dealbreaker or anything. The house is a short walk from this breakfast place that we actually went to twice during our short stay, with other options nearby. Overall, the house felt cozy and clean, but we did struggle with getting in the bathroom first thing in the morning with the other guests in the house during our stay. Mary was very responsive and a great host to us during our stay. The bed was comfortable as well and the room had amble space for a large suitcase, a carry-on, and two large bags with space to spare for two people.

Nazneen and Mehtab went above and beyond to make my stay exceptional! I was a long-term guest while finishing my travel nursing contract, and this home was the perfect location for my commute to the hospital. The house itself is like an art museum. It’s full of color, charm, and rich with history. During my stay, I had the pleasure of creating several unique items with Nazneen’s Pursenality Specialty Handbags, which added a special, creative touch to my experience. Another thing I loved was the sound of the train in the distance. It was very cozy and helped me sleep better at night. This stay made my final weeks in Elgin truly enjoyable, and I would gladly return in the future! Thank you for treating me so kindly and opening your beautiful home. Even when I was sick towards the end, I felt so taken cared of with the hot teas you both made for me. Also, your cooking and food is so delicious. I left inspired to cook more after the meals we shared. Thank you so very much:)

This was my second time staying here, and it was once again absolutely lovely. Charming and comfortable. Wonderful hosts, and Mary prepares a beautiful and delicious breakfast. I highly recommend a stay here. You’ll want to come back, just like me.

I enjoyed my stay with Ann and Joe. They were very friendly and accommodating hosts. My bedroom was very comfortable and relaxing. The private bathroom was very clean and roomy to allow me a nice space to get ready for the day in addition to my bedroom. They provided good recommendations for local parks for walking and restaurants for eating. I enjoyed visiting with them and viewing their beautiful yard!

Leah was such a special host that made us feel at ease and served us graciously. I enjoyed getting to know her and she also gave us space and the downtime we needed. Her homemade tea and cake and breakfast spread were amazing!!!

Great location and super easy

Nolan's place was great. I stayed there for 1 night since I had a wedding to attend in downtown St. Charles. I was given a place to park my car, a clean room, a full bath to myself, and tea/bread from the kitchen. Nolan and Veronica are friendly people. They have 2 precious cats that I got to pet. Their place is like a 7-10 min drive to downtown St. Charles and in a quiet and nature filled area. I chose this spot actually because I wanted to take the next day to walk the Fox River bike trail (which was a 3 min walk from the house).
