We built a studio-house on the foundation of an old summer cottage. We did not expand the footprint, but furnished it with select pieces and appliances and gave it contemporary finishes. We also added a screened porch, open deck and stone patio. The woodland and mountain views are lovely, while the location is convenient to Lake Minnewaska State Park and the Mohonk Preserve. Ulster County levies a 2% tax on overnight stays. Payment is made anytime between confirmation and arrival.

The Metsämökki is a small Finnish cabin in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains. Originally a sauna that was shipped here from Finland. We renovated it to a tiny house that offers complete privacy. Enjoy the babbling brook while sitting on the deck and taking in the surrounding nature. The Diamond Notch is a site-specific, passive-house level insulated, off-grid mini A-frame - locally designed & built by the architects in co-operation with Lexington Arts + Science (LA+S). Requires a 5 minute hike in. Bring hiking boots. Micro spikes or snow shoes provided if needed. Yes, there is a cozy propane fireplace inside which provides plenty of heat for cold winter nights. We provide bedding, limited cooking utensils and a fire pit. (no T mobile cell coverage)
