Updates include new custom kitchen with concrete counters and stainless steel appliances, new bathroom with walk in shower. Cozy 2 bedroom home is located directly on the Kokosing river thought to translate from the Algonquin Indians and mean “River of the Little Owls.” The cabin is a short distance to Kenyon College, Apple Valley lake, Ohio Amish country and tons and tons of great parks, hiking trails, bike trails and hunting. We are pet friendly (additional $50 per stay, maximum 2 pets).

Tranquility Cottage

When you stay here the whole house is yours. You do not share any of the space here at Tranquility Cottage.. We are very close to the village of Gambier which is where Kenyon College is located. Apple Valley golf course is 5 minutes away open to public. Mohican State park and canoeing is 20 minutes away in the beautiful village of Loudonville. Lots of fun shops there too. Amish country is approximately an hour away. Historic Roscoe village is also approximately an hour away.

Located right on Apple Valley Lake just outside of Mt Vernon, OH this 2250sqft house is recently remodeled has 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths 2 levels and is beautiful. You can enjoy our dock and go swimming or paddle boarding or just relax and fish. On the main floor is a card room perfect for family games, kitchen with walk out to 2nd story deck and 3 season room, living room with TV, and master bedroom with a private deck and fireplace. Downstairs has 3 bedrooms and fireplace.

This place was perfect. We stayed for our son's graduation from Kenyon. They enjoyed the barn, played pool, and watched a sad Celtics game. The house was awesome, nicely decorated clean. Beds were very comfortable, and bathrooms were big. I would stay here again. I think the price was fair, given it was graduation weekend, and it was very close to Kenyon. Thank you!

Peaceful, quiet and private. Waking up next river was amazing. Kids had a blast, quality family time. Host’s were amazing. Super cute cabin and set up. Very clean, had everything we needed with some extra/cute added details. I loved it. Booked last minute and host’s were very accommodating and so nice.

We loved the cabin ambience and how clean and quiet it was. Everything was set up to be cozy and comfortable. We appreciated the welcome basket with snacks and water bottles and the wood provided for the fire pit. My kids loved that! Our host was responsive to any questions we had. Next visit to Gambier, we will book the cabin without hesitation!
