Thirty years ago, after finishing my degree in the UK, i came to Florence for a few days, fell in love with the city and decided to adopt it as my new home. I'm a designer in the fashion field so being in Florence is a continual source of inspiration even after so many years. My children are now grown up and away from home so I have great pleasure in sharing my lovely home situated away from the hustle and bustle of the city, with guests from around the world. The apartment is part of a renovated 17th century villa, situated in a prominent position on the hilltop of a charming mediaeval town in the Castle area of Signa which in the past was world renowned for the craftsmanship of straw and the manufacture of its end product, especially the manufacture of straw hats which were exported worldwide as they were extremely fashionable in the '50s. My guests are welcomed to share the living area of the apartment which has lovely views all around the surrounding hills and which also has a cosy log fire to sit around in the evenings. The rooftop terrace offers fantastic 360° views of the surrounding villas and forests. One of the double bedrooms is situated in the tower of the villa which is very charming, romantic and full of character. I am proud to serve a rich breakfast including fresh pastry from the finest bakery in the area, greatly appreciated by my guests.
