Local beaches on the Jurassic Coast are a short drive including the well known beauty spots at Kimmeridge and Lulworth cove. Poole Swanage and Studland are within a 30 minute drive.

Westport Cottage

A distinctive period cottage in a unique location with tastefully presented interior. This is one of only three cottages built on top of the old Saxon walls in Wareham. Originally there were six cottages, built between the mid and the late 1800s which have now been opened up into three. The cottage is the first one along a gravel footpath and is fronted by the Saxon dyke. The Old Reading Room West Stafford, Dorset.

The Victorian Reading Room of West Stafford is of historical importance. Used before the war as a Reading Room for the villagers and estate workers, the newspapers were provided, the village shop in the late 1930s, then a workshop and a store room for the church. We have now lovingly restored, decorated and furnished this amazing building into a cosy self catering holiday retreat, "far from the madding crowd" Open plan, comfy double sofabed, wood burner, country walks and fabulous village pub.

Located on the edge of a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) our home and adjoining annexe sit in tranquil, leafy surroundings. You will have direct access onto the SSSI heathland where you will find a variety of wildlife including deer, foxes, sand lizzards and nightjars. We are a 5 minute drive from the convenience of Wareham town and have many beautiful landmarks, beaches and attractions nearby.
