Vacation rentals in High Bickington

This was a much needed break for my wife and I. This part of Devon is stunning Knowstone is gorgeous. Debbie and her husband were welcoming and helpful. I look forward to the first vintage from their fledgling vineyard. The Michelin starred Mason's Arms was a joy for our evening meal. Get to that pub while you can as they are looking for a buyer. All highly recommended.

We had the most incredible stay at this property. The views alone were some of the best we’ve ever experienced, with the deck overlooking the sea. The beach is a short walk down the cliff side from the property (the walk back up is a workout to say the least, especially on a boiling hot day!) and a stroll across the sand couldn’t have been more peaceful. Christian was a great host and was quick to respond to any questions. This is the perfect place to switch off, with bedrooms with great views and a spacious living room and kitchen. The only thing we’d suggest is possibly bringing your own essentials, such as milk, butter and cooking bits as local shops are about a 15 minute drive. Overall we can’t recommend this place enough, we really needed to reset after a hectic few months and we finally managed to here for which we are so grateful.

One of the luxuries of booking with Airbnb is the ability to read reviews on what people have said about a particular place. On reading the reviews, you get the impression that this place is a diamond, a place of peace and tranquility. It is with great joy that I can confirm that all those reviews were true, that this place is a diamond, a place of peace and tranquility. The host Nigel and Glenda are wonderful people who care about you, and will go further than most people we know. It’s because of this that it’s worthy of full marks for everything. Thank you Nigel and Glenda for making a four day holiday feel like a two week holiday. Will we be back!?Yes yes yes!

We really enjoyed staying here during February half term (family of 4 - kids 11 and 7). The weather was fairly terrible but it didn’t matter as we had use of the pool and my husband was happy fishing in the rain! Accommodation well equipped and clean and really warm. The pool is beautiful and the rota system is good meaning you know you have the pool to yourself for half the day, then the other cottage gets it for the other half (other than the cheeky people next door on Thursday morning who ignored the rota and went in anyway when it was our turn…) The cottage is so peaceful with beautiful countryside around and our dog loved the field and woods. We went to RHS Rosemoor and highly recommend The Globe at Beaford for good food and really friendly service. It was exactly what we needed for a relaxing few days away.

This was one of the best stays I’ve had. The view was incredible and the hot tub was amazing! If you’re lucky enough to have the chance to book this place, I’d 100% recommend. The host is also amazing and very responsive. Location is also extremely private and peaceful. I’ll definitely be coming back! Thanks for having me!

We had a truly wonderful time at Andrew’s place - it felt both completely private and incredibly safe. As a single mother, that sense of security is one of the things I value most, and this spot absolutely delivered. The views were breathtaking, and just being there helped me properly unwind and detox from the pace of city life. Andrew was so welcoming.. he kindly carried all our things down and gave us a helpful tour of how everything worked. After that, we were left to enjoy the space in peace, which was exactly what we want. We had some amazing BBQs, played games, shared lovely dinners and drinks, and my dog loved it. Staying in the tent was such a fun and unique experience, and the bed was comfy, beautifully soft linen that made it feel extra special. Thank you so much, Andrew, for having us. Absolutely fantastic little gem! Had our first holiday with the dog and we loved it! Enough space for the 3 of us for 2 days, the garden was stunning to explore & it was secluded and quiet! Was lovely to meet Mike’s dog & the cows next door came to say hello also. Wonderful little touches such as the chocolate on pillows, the ham, cheese, jam, milk & orange juice alongside the pasties just shows you don’t need to bring your own! Well thought out and such a relaxing weekend away! Defo would visit again!

Great little place. Has all the amenities you need and it’s right in the center of the village making it easy have a wonderful round and have access to the local shop. Neat and tidy place full of lots of character. We will be booking again soon.
