Charming & Restful Barn Retreat: Stroll to Village

SarahRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We have really loved our time at The Barn and we’re so happy that we were able to extend our stay by x3 nights due to a car breakdown. Sally and Sam have been very helpful and responsive throughout our stay. The Barn is amazing and it is the best Airbnb we have stayed in to date. The beds and sofas are super comfy, dreamy shower and roll top bath, very well-appointed kitchen, great dining space and a handy utility room with washer and dryer. Woods at the rear of the house are perfect for a local dog walk with access to the Ashdown Forest a short drive away. Forest Row with its shops and cafes is within walking distance. The Barn is a real home from home and provides a quirky, calm, cosy and relaxing space.

Beautiful Countryside Cottage

NadegeRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Daniela’s cottage had the perfect size and layout for our little family reunion. It was very clean, tidy and beautiful, which made our holiday special. We particularly enjoyed the garden with its bbq, the well equipped kitchen and the proximity with the Ashdown forest, farm shops and Hever castle. Beds are comfortable which makes it easy to rest. Daniela was very helpful and kindly offered some lovely biscuits for our arrival :) I very much recommend this place and I would love to come back!

Lovely original 70s bungalow in a beautiful garden

ZoeRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Spacious kitchen which was sparkling clean and dining area ample big enough for the five of us. Particularly loved the beautiful big peaceful gardens. Also enjoyed the local pub. the landlord was very friendly and the house real ale was superb and very nice whitebait as a bar snack. It was a shame the pub was so quiet in the evenings so if you stay here make sure you visit to help it stay in business. also our hosts were very quick to respond to our questions and there is a very nice kind neighbour on hand who checked in to see we were all ok. fyi....don't put the kettle on at the same time as the toaster as it trips the fuse.

‘The Water Snug’ Floating Lake Cabin

JoeRating, 5 stars1 week ago
What a visit! We’ve absolutely loved every minute of our stay with Patrick and Juliette, they have created the most beautiful living space and could not have been more friendly and accommodating. It’s a fantastic spot for either a calm getaway or for if you want to do some exploring, and your hosts have excellent local knowledge that they are happy to share if you need recommendations for the area. We had planned to just relax on the boat for the whole time, but we actually wound up visiting nearby areas (Brighton, the beautiful Sheffield Park, local pubs) before retreating to the boat for the evenings, and we loved this mix. Could not recommend this place enough, it’s been our favourite holiday yet and I’m certain that we’ll be back in future!

Hay Barn

MarionRating, 5 stars5 days ago
Excellent stay and helpful host. Very clean and comfortable property with attractive decor and furnishings. The kitchen was well-equipped although we didn’t make a lot of use of it as we were away visiting family every day. There’s car parking at the door, a lovely outdoor dining space accessed from the living area and a super king bed. We loved the Eden Valley bridle way walk to Penshurst straight out of the front door. Good cafes can be found at Penshurst Place (the Porcupine - free parking) and Chiddingston, as well as lovely old pubs nearby, like The Wheatsheaf, Bough Beech and the Greyhound. There are lots of places to visit including Penshurst Place, Hever Castle and Knole Park in Sevenoaks. Highly recommended.
