The Blue Cow Barn Accommodation is situated on a working farm, 1km from Barrydale town centre. Our farm has gone through many seasons - from a fruit farm to a dairy farm and now a guest farm. Our cottages are named after the cows that were part of the dairy and Betsie is our most flamboyant and eccentric cottage and cow. You'll love this cottage as it is situated in the original farm barn that dates back to the 1960's and the gorgeous mountain view. This cottage also has access to the hot tub.

The place is comfortable and spacious and we had a great time. Particularly appreciated the modern and spacious fridge as we needed to store a lot of food for the weekend :) The garden is amazing and the pool was great if a bit cold.

Absolutely lovely place! The house is spacious and comfortable, perfect for family groups and such a lovely setting right on the Breede. The pool table, table tennis, lovey big lawn, hot tub etc. meant there was plenty to do at the house. Philip was very helpful too- loved all the tips and useful information about the area. I highly recommend Breede River Ultimate Retreat.

We stayed in a cozy, spacious house that turned out to be perfect for our getaway: clean, comfortable, and fully equipped with everything we needed. Each morning started with fresh air, birds singing, and the peaceful sounds of nature. The fishing was great — the fish were biting, and the kids were especially thrilled when they caught their first fish! In the evenings, we gathered around the fire, enjoying toasted snacks, heartfelt conversations, and lots of laughter. These were truly warm, meaningful days that I’d love to relive. Thank you for the wonderful atmosphere and the chance to disconnect from the hustle and bustle — moments like these stay in your memory forever.

A really comfortable 4 en-suite bedrooms with an outside 5th dorm room also en-suite home. Great water front and jetty. Really nice braai area with huge fireplace and pizza oven. Kitchen in the house was very well equipped. Plenty of fridge space , ice machine & superb coffee machine. Perfect long weekend destination.

Wow, what a place - extremely peaceful, extremely beautiful, perfect for seven of us. They even provided clean drinking water for all of us since the water from the taps wasn’t drinkable. The canoes were also a great bonus. Like others said before, the prepared hot tub was pretty hot when we got in but it was still fun, we just topped it up with some cold water from the hose if it got too hot. All in all, a really wonderful stay!

A living area features comfortable seating arranged around a centrally placed coffee table. A fireplace stands against one wall, while large windows provide natural light and views of the outside. Soft furnishings include patterned cushions and a variety of wooden chairs.

One of the most amazing places. My boyfriend and I stayed there for two nights and it definitely wasn't long enough! The home itself was very substantial and had everything needed. It was situated in one of the most beautiful places with a dam and lovely wildlife. A lovely place for a break away. Would definitely go back again!
