First Cottage is beautifully situated, incredibly quiet with stunning views. Cottage was comfortably furnished and immaculately clean. We had everything we needed for our stay in generous amounts, nothing felt skimped or compromised. Janice and David were perfect, generous hosts, responding promptly to queries without ever being intrusive.

Watergreens Farm, Alston, Cumbria, CA9 3LD

Michelle ElaineRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Amanda personally welcomed us upon arrival and took the time to show us round the cottage, explaining where everything was and how things worked. The cottage itself is beautiful, extremely well kept and full of all the bits and pieces you need to have a most enjoyable stay, including those nice little extras such as tea, coffee, milk and wine to welcome you. The view from the cottage is stunning and the local village itself has lovely little shops and cafes. The area itself has lots of walks through lovely countryside and numerous places of outstanding natural beauty. A little further out, there are a number of museums, towns, historical places that are worth exploring, including Hadrian's Wall and the Pennines. This is an ideal place for a relaxing break, out in the countryside soaking up the atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Swinburne Castle

An absolutely beautiful accommodation, comfortable & large in a glorious setting. Zoe is so friendly, unassuming & helpful. Encouraged us to wander around her lovely garden, the very old courtyard & surroundings. Her dogs & cats add to the pleasant home stay atmosphere. The breakfast supplies, tea & coffee were very generous. Zoe booked us into a nearby pub for dinner which was a good idea as they can be very busy. There are a number of things to see in nearby towns. We would have loved to have stayed for much longer & will definitely return to Zoe’s if we ever get back to the UK.

Birch Bothy, peaceful rural retreat

LizzieRating, 5 stars1 month ago
A really lovely stay. Even though it’s early in the season we loved the herb garden just outside. The cowslips on the table and breakfast ingredients were a lovely touch. Shower had good heat and power. Woodburner was super easy to use with kindling, newspapers and logs provided. For those bringing food it has everything you need, but note there’s no oven. Microwave and hob cover an awful lot of cooking options though. There’s a small icebox in the fridge too. Overall a lovely stay, only one comment being that I think the bed is foldable and when I sat down hard once I though I was about to be folded into the bed which gave me a little shock 😂 Ross was great.

Hexham, Northumberland fells, Walking, Relaxing

Great little annex, spacious and clean with great amenities. Was greeted with fresh bread and brownies, butter and eggs. The bread and brownies were delicious. Amazing views and so quiet. Enjoyed seeing the birds feeding off the feeder, especially the woodpecker. Lovely wood burner. A good base for either walks around the area or to see the Roman ruins or for attractions further afield in Northumberland.

Longriggs

We had such a lovely stay at Longriggs! We were visiting for a wedding near by at ShortFlatt Flower (very close by!) and it was the perfect peaceful retreat after a busy few weeks and wedding. Everything was as describe, extremely comfy bed, outdoor cooking appliances and the outdoor bath was lush! Ideal place to switch off and relax, a USB charger for phone but otherwise just you the outdoors and lovely hot water! Id recommend taking some slippers and a wee fleece as it can get a little chilly, but once the fire is on you soon warm up. John was very responsive and dropped off ice packs each morning, there isn't much storage or space in the cool box so I'd suggest just taking food for a day or two, the shops nearby in Morpeth are very handy. Would highly recommend and can't wait to come back to drink coffee out on the porch again in the mornings.

our first Airbnb experience! Everything you could want was at the property- everything you could forget too, from butter to a range of toiletries - jams, fruit - you name it was there. It was a great stay. Janet and Rob were very friendly and Jasper (the cat) just so welcoming - perfect stay, a real home from home. Wouldn't hesitate to return.
