Great Location: Volcano to Hilo

WilliamRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had a wonderful stay at this Airbnb and were very satisfied with everything. The host keeps a variety of small animals in the yard, which my daughter absolutely loved—it was such a special experience for her! The hosts were incredibly warm, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. The location is also perfect—very close to Volcano National Park, making it an excellent choice for visiting the volcano. Thank you so much for your hospitality and care. The only small downside was the loud sounds of frogs and insects at night. Of course, this is not the host’s fault—it’s just part of the natural environment in Hawaii. I just want to remind future visitors that if you're sensitive to outdoor noise, it’s a good idea to bring earplugs. This is something common not just here, but in many places surrounded by nature in Hawaii. Thank you, Kerinne!
A quaint eco-friendly cabin is nestled within a lush tropical landscape, featuring a welcoming wooden deck. Surrounding greenery enhances privacy, while the cabin's design integrates seamlessly with nature. Nearby, a stunning view of volcanic activity and coastal scenery is depicted.

This place is a gem when visiting Volcanoes national park. Totally quite at night and gorgouse by day. About 23 min to the park. Super cute and totally what we love about tiny houses in Hawaii.

David and Kevin's guest house was amazing! Perfect size for 2 people to comfortably enjoy. Spending time on the lanai drinking a morning coffee or eating a meal while enjoying the landscape is something you don't want to miss. David and Kevin are awesome hosts, anything we needed was either in the guesthouse or they had it to share. Thank you David and Kevin for your hospitality!

Our family—my wife, our 4-year-old daughter, and I—spent six amazing days on the east side of Big Island. The vacation rental was ideal, offering a clean, spacious, and well-equipped home in a peaceful, lush setting. We loved the proximity to Volcanoes National Park and black sand beaches, where our daughter enjoyed playing and spotting sea turtles. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and provided great local tips. This stay was everything we hoped for, combining comfort, stunning surroundings, and warm hospitality. We can't wait to return!

Larry’s off-grid cottage is the perfect blend of comfort, privacy, and nature. The cottage is well-equipped with everything needed for a relaxing stay, while still providing an authentic off-grid experience. The property is beautifully landscaped, creating a peaceful and secluded atmosphere, yet it felt very secure. Every detail was thoughtfully considered, making it both cozy and functional. Best of all, it was incredibly affordable for the quality of the stay. If you’re looking for a serene escape with all the essentials in place, this is the perfect spot. Highly recommend!

Rohini Retreat Cottage in Jungle Sanctuary

JuliaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We really enjoyed our stay what felt like the middle of the jungle. Bles was always fast to respond. We especially enjoyed the natural feel with the shower outside, dinners on the patio while looking at the sky full of stars. The bed is very comfortable and you hear the birds chirping when falling asleep. Two things to consider: the apartment gets very hot during the day which is why we avoided to come back for lunchtime. In the morning and evening it is very pleasant. There are lots of mosquitoes on the patio so be sure to use the candle oder other measures. We would definitely come back to this wonderful place in the future!

Cozy Cottage with Fresh Rainwater Hot Tub *No fees

T. MichaelRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We have stayed at many ABnBs from Shenandoah to Big Bend and from Alaska to Everglades and this was the most thoughtfully prepared place we have visited. From the multi type charging port to the heated towel bar, to labeled switches, to supplies likecoffee, tea, borrowable raincoats and beach chairs it is obvious that the host wanted to meet your needs. The place is beautifully surrounded by copious flowers. The stained glass accents are pretty. We did not use the hot tub or grill but they were very nice. Garret was responsive and helpful the bed was comfortable as were the pillows.

Aloha Bungalow

JaneRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Extremely responsive hosts and kept us posted on what was going on. Very clean and private space!. If you are looking to stay somewhere near beach access I would stay on other side of island. It was difficult to find places to swim and lay on the beach. Relatively accessible to town and stores. Perfect space for a couple.

House of Bonsai Vacation Rental

AlexRating, 5 stars3 months ago
Carolyn and Mike's Air BnB is absolutely stunning! I think it's even nicer than the photos. I loved opening the window by the bed at the end of the day to let the cool breeze in. The bed is so comfortable, the living area is lovely, and the kitchen has everything you could possibly need. The bathroom felt luxurious and the shower was wonderful. There's plenty of closet space too. Overall, it's very private and serene. There are so many decorative touches throughout the space that make it so charming and cozy. Carolyn and Mike were very friendly, generous, and kind, they felt like Ohana. The complimentary breakfast was lovely! She helped me pick out some of her beautiful handmade jewelry to bring home as gifts. They're very caring and responsive. The location of the rental is right near Volcano National Park and there are several really good restaurants nearby as well. The Farmers Market in the Village was a lot of fun to go to too! I would definitely stay at Carolyn's Air BnB again!

NEW 2 bedroom hosted Tranquil Island Getaway

EricRating, 5 stars5 days ago
We stayed at the Ranch for a solid week. This place is so nice and peaceful, the sounds of the frogs and the crickets lull you to sleep. The beds are comfortable and it had all amenities you could want. The way it is situated it has a nice ocean breeze that constantly keeps the place at the perfect temperature all time. When we arrived, we were greeted by the pups who would check up on us regularly during the trip. Dino would even come in for a short visit. The cows were great to visit throughout the day. They love the Ti leaves and there’s so many plants to pick and feed them. Deborah and Steve live on the property, and it’s like having the best neighbors ever. Never felt like they were to close but they were always there to help and guide. They are such amazing hosts, for sure the best hosts I’ve come across in all my travels. There is no doubt when we return to Hilo we will be staying at the Broken Dog Ranch and if there is no availability we will be just going up to say hi!!

This place was perfect! if youre looking for something that cozy and very peaceful, this is it. walking distance to the ocean, not necessarily a sandy beach, however you can drive and then hike out to Shipman Beach which is sandy with lots of turtles! I loved having a kitchen and even yoga classes a few days a week walking distance as well. the deck and outside seating was wonderful too! a wonderful place to come back to at the end of the day after exploring the island, or even just chill at all day as well. : )

We loved staying here. It was in the middle of where we wanted to be and it was beautiful. Once I got there I really didn't want to leave again. The grounds are beautiful, the house is stunning. Love all the wildlife. You can see the ocean and sit and relax in the porch all day. The house has everything we needed. Only one thing missing was two beach chairs. But it was ok. Shopping, restaurants and the beach are within a 10 min drive. We had a great time exploring that side of the island. We hope to come again.
