Cottage vacation rentals in Hawaii

Wow... just the best. Beautiful spot, clean, very quiet, super accommodations inside and Kristina is awesome. This was on our bucket list and it didn't disappoint. Doug & Kim, Bloomington Illinois.

We have stayed at Ocean Rhythm several times and enjoyed ourselves each visit. The Oceanside location is marvelous, offering warm salty breezes and the sound of waves meeting landfall. Baby Beach, with its protected reef, is a two minute walk away. We love to spend the afternoon just floating around in its calm waters. As well, the cottage is right on the coastal bike/walking path, a seven mile paved trail that runs up the coast with magnificent views. This home comes with everything a person could want for beach recreation; masks, snorkels, fins, boogie boards, chairs, umbrellas, mats, etc. Ellen , the host, is the best. She is friendly and kind, responsive and caring. We will definitely return

The rental was perfect for us! We are a couple that did not get a rental car during our stay in Kauai and were able to walk to many places and great food nearby. The shops nearby had everything we needed and we ended up making it to the farmer's market there as well. it was so nice to cook breakfast/make coffee at the rental and enjoy it on the peaceful patio. We loved the open air options and were able to go without air conditioning most of the time and just enjoy the open breeze in our rental. The air conditioning unit was plenty sufficient when we felt we did need it though. To top an already great stay off, the host allowed us a late checkout which gave us time to enjoy the beautiful island a little more before departing.

This is an enchanting space inside a small colony of homes, which feels equally peaceful and communal. My husband and I enjoyed the high end details (Sub Zero fridge, gorgeous custom shelves) yet still felt grounded in nature. The sounds of the waves layered with bird song were relaxing and magical. Location is close to great hiking trails and snorkel spots - plenty to keep you engaged with the beauty of the island while still being 10 minutes to the conveniences of town. Such a great place to hang back and slow down. The home was updated, but still had character, and the landscaping around the house was tropical and lush. We walked the few steps to the beach and used the provided chairs to see an Hawaiian sunset and a rainbow at the same time. The owner made some adjustments for our schedule and was very pleasant to work with. We loved it here!

One of the most thoughtful Airbnb setups I’ve experienced. Many elegant touches. Perfect location for a lovely one night touchdown before hiking the Na Pali Coast trail. Wish we had longer here!

We really enjoyed our stay! Susan’s place was stocked with everything we needed and we loved being so close to quiet and beautiful Kepuhi beach.

I loved this place. How can you not. Empty beaches, reasonable price and small pleasant complex. Jeff was great, fast to respond and got everything clear before we arrived. Note that this is not directly on the beach but a block walk (on the property) a great view. You will have everything you need -lovely kitchen, bath towels, beach equipment, direct tv washer dryer etc. But this is not a hotel. You have to be up for grocery shopping, cooking and a relaxed but not at all fancy environment. I love this as it is as quiet as can be. But if you want room service, bed linens changed, onsite restaurant. This is not for you.

Me and my daughter had a wonderful time at Connie’s cottage!! There was beautiful nature and a very big tropical garden. Many different kind of plants, trees and flowers. The cottage inside is very spacious for two people with many needed supplies . Thank you, Connie, you are a great host! We hope we will come back next year🙂

What an oasis! Lush, private, & peaceful. A favorite was picking fresh guava for breakfast! Eve was attentive but not over bearing, kind and hospitable. We really felt like we could explore and enjoy the entire grounds. And the sanctuary next door was simply beautiful and a quick walk away. You can even buy an “over the top” fresh exotic flower bouquet for $18!! We grilled out on the back patio and soaked it all in . We’d definitely recommend this get-away!

Had a wonderful day! Would absolutely stay again. The beach chairs and cooler provided were incredibly helpful! About 15 minutes to the beach in 45 minutes Mauna Kea.

This cottage in Volcano Village was soo cozy and beautiful! Staying here gave us quick access to the Hawaiian Volcano National Park (only about 15 min drive). The hosts gave us plenty of supplies for anything we needed. We had a bit of an issue with plumbing, but Aubrey was quick and got it taken care of efficiently. We would love to come back in the future 😊

Great place for exploring Maui, especially if you want to get away from the resorts and enjoy a cute Hawaiian town and upcountry. Margit’s place has everything you need (full kitchen, lanai, beach towels, w/d, filtered water….). Her cottage is well taken care of and in a beautiful, peaceful setting. Top notch.

From the peaceful and private jungle location, to the friendly and helpful staff, this place was everything I could have hoped for a getaway. Myra is a wonderful host and I cannot wait to stay here again.

We had a great stay at Alexandra’s. The apartment is very cute and clean, and it’s in a great location to enjoy Kihei. Just a few minutes driving from all the restaurants and beaches. At the same time, the neighborhood is very quiet and we woke up every morning with the sounds of birds singing.

This place is amazing. It is in the jungle which adds excitement, you are surrounded by a beautiful setting. The place is well cared for and had everything you needed to make your stay comfortable. Everything was properly labeled and it was so quaint. my two daughters and I just loved it.

This is a pretty and very well equipped house. Great for staying near the Volcanos National Park. It is private, restful and very comfortable. Great for short or longer stays.

Everything was perfectly fine, we stayed a couple of nights during our honeymoon and enjoyed the Pineapple Express! Pretty house and surrounding. Albert gave us some recommendations for activities and food, which was very helpful!

Jenni’s little Maui bungalow is a true gem! It was clean, charming and stocked with all of the amenities you could ask for. I didn’t realize how streamlined (and less wasteful!) an air bnb stay could be until staying at Jenni’s. She has truly thought of everything a traveler could want or need— from salt and pepper to beach towels to incredible local recommendations. She made our stay pleasant, convenient and relaxing. My husband and I hope to return one day soon!

Always enjoy staying at Kimberly’s properties. So beautiful, private, and peaceful. Really enjoyed relaxing in the cedar tub. Everything was very clean and it is even prettier in person.

Todd’s place was awesome. We spent almost two weeks here on our honey moon and it far exceeded our expectations. Not only did the pictures not do the house justice we got to see two eruptions from the volcano during our stay, which we probably wouldn’t have been able if we weren’t so close. Todd was also super responsive and kind during our stay. We enjoyed the few chats we got to have while we were there.

We are so happy that we chose Volcano Hidden Cottage for our home while we explored Volcanoes National Park! The cottage is gorgeous, and the setting is idyllic- completely private and quiet. The only sounds we heard were from the wildlife, who lulled us to sleep each night. We enjoyed spending time out on the large deck, surrounded by lush greenery. The cottage is very comfortable, and we slept so well! We feel lucky to have been able to stay at such a wonderful place that is just minutes from the park entrance. Thank you, Brenda!

We wish we could have stayed longer. David a Dawn put a lot of hard work into the space. The pool/hottub and sauna were very clean and enjoyable. The Jungalow itself felt very private and great sunset. Everything you could need is there for you kitchen, bathroom, fireplace, plenty of seating everywhere . The open air and big windows make you feel like you’re living outside. The porch and balcony were great for relaxing on. Plenty of parking and easy to get in and out. The property itself is gorgeous. Great flowers plants and trees, smelled great everywhere you went. Plenty of places to go from the property and they were very helpful in telling us the best spots to check out. Thanks for sharing your house with us Dave and Dawn!

We LOVED everything about this location. Iao Valley is so special and the location of the AirBNB itself was perfect for getting all around the island. We visited at the end of March and never ran the AC once. It was hot during the afternoon but the morning/late afternoon/evening cool off, with the winds blowing into the valley were so perfect. AND the birdsong in the morning was so beautiful that I recorded it and sent it to my family (minus the rooster song- but that's just Maui living for ya). If you want a good cocktail check out Ester's Fair Prospect, they have a nice selection of liquor and a fun vibe, located in the city of Wailuku right next door to this place. Also we loved the goodies that were left in the fridge. The pineapple on the island is SOOO good. Sooooooo good. Forget the banana bread hype... just eat the pineapples and bananas fresh! Mahalo!
