This is a magical home in a quiet location with beautiful surroundings. The host is very kind and helpful. We would absolutely stay here again.

Very beautiful place and property! The views are stunning everywhere you look. If you are looking for a peaceful, remote stay, this is it! Given its remoteness and surrounding road conditions, highly recommend a 4x4 and comfortable vehicle, along with groceries for a couple days. Diego + Christina were very responsive and provided great suggestions of things to do and see around the area and property. Don’t snooze on horseback riding with Hilario right on the property - it’s amazing and the views are very beautiful!

Tonyia and Rod's place was a peaceful retreat. In the mornings we drank coffee on the patio while watching toucans in the trees. In the evenings we soaked in the hot tub after a long day of hiking. The home was spotless and well designed. I loved the special touches like fresh flowers and coffee/ spices already provided. We tried several of our hosts' restaurant recommendations and all were outstanding. Be aware that the road from the town to the house is rough gravel. We got used to it but a sturdy car is recommended!

Beautiful house well decorated with taste and fully equipped kitchen. Quite fancy. The little washing machine, the rice cooker and the cable tv was an amazing addition. I rested well and the mattress was comfy, more on the medium-soft side (I like better harder beds). When the fridge made a strong noise, they quickly sent someone and fixed it in no time. They are a very sweet and kind young Tico couple. The AC worked super well and the parking for the car was in the shade and well locked next to the entrance door. Great place to rest if you go to bed around 10:30 since a little dog bark every night around 10ishhh, and then it’s quiet all night. It’s next to a busy street but the traffic passes by without stopping so we don’t really notice them.

Stayed here for two nights and so I only used the bed and shower, but Ivette and Javier were very welcoming and kind during this time. Ivette greeted me with a fresh coconut and showed me around the property - the pool and jacuzzi would have been used if I was here for a week, but unfortunately this was a short stay. The view from the house was beautiful (could see Arenal and overlooked the pool). I was happy the bedroom had an AC unit, because the area does get toasty. The first night there were alternating bird, monkey, and dog noises that made it difficult to sleep, but the neighborhood was quieter on the second night. In the morning, Javier brought a coconut pastry and cut fruit before heading off to work and that was the perfect start to the day before I headed out myself. It was about 30 mins to Mistico Park and Sky Adventures. Dinner was at El Chante Verde both nights and it was great. There’s a market nearby with coffee and empanadas. I walked to both.

Casita Meg has an incredibly beautiful view by day and glorious sunsets at dusk. The casita is well equipped for pleasant stays and the hosts are responsive to any needs you might have. This was my second longer stay and I hope to be able to return.

We enjoyed our stay! It's a nice, clean home with scenic views in an authentic, safe community. We bought a few basics for breakfast (eggs, queso blanco, milk, coffee, juice) at the nearby community mini-market (a few blocks away) so we could make breakfast at the place. If you want fresh fruits & veggies, you should stop at a bigger market on your way (La Fortuna? Or El Castillo?). We ate dinner twice at the nearby La Terraza restaurant, which was good. We loved the batidos de fruta (fruit smoothies/shakes - 'de leche' ('of milk') . My favorite is the batido de papaya (de leche). My kids also tried the strawberry, pineapple, maracuya (and I think others, too!). We enjoyed the dishes we had there, too. Internet at the house can be spotty, but there's some cell reception, too. If you're on vacation and just checking your email from time to time and researching things to do in the area, it's fine; if you're looking to be a digital nomad, this is probably not the place for you.
