Historically Gilleleje is an old fishing village and it was here that many Jews were transported to Sweden during World War II. Gilleleje Church was a waiting place for Jews until they could be transported. In 1943, 75 Jews were caught by the Gestapo on the church ceiling after a snitch had informed the Germans. Everywhere there are monuments of historical events. Every year there are various festivals in Gilleleje - "Hill" Festival, Harbour Festival, Jazz at the port and The Herring Day. Very centrally-located place. Grocery shopping is also with in walking distance plus there are 3 small pizza restaurants and a local pub. Trains & Buses to Copenhagen and the North coast are only a 5 min walk away. District towns, such as Gilleleje with a beach and a harbour with a cozy atmosphere. Larger towns such as Hillerød and Helsingør both with historical castles and shopping . If you would like a nice day trip it is possible to take the ferry from Helsingør to Helsingborg in Sweden.

Unikt og familievenligt sommerhus. Huset består af to soveværelser og et dejligt stort køkken/alrum. Terrassen er kæmpestor og omkranset af en indhegnet have. Haven er mere eller mindre gået i skov med stier, der jævnligt bliver slået. Huset kan opvarmes med pejs, brændeovn og varmepumpe og der er både vaskemaskine og opvaskemaskine. Arresø ligger 5 minutters gang fra sommerhuset og 10 minutter væk ligger Tinggården. Området er præget af natur og sommerhuse. Skønne strande i cykelafstand.
