A Room with a View

Wakefield waterfront on the Gatineau river. Great views of and only a few steps from the iconic covered bridge and a short walk to restaurants, pubs and cafes. Two fireplaces, two decks, and plenty of parking. This is a brand new home that we are sure you will enjoy. Respectful, courteous guests only. The magnificent views from the home and the two large decks come with some effort and this vacation paradise is not recommended for those with mobility issues.

What a peaceful place to stay, very accomodating and friendly hosts, trailer was exactly as posted, would absolutely recommend this trailer to anyone wanting an upgrade from tenting, like myself. Only downside was that the fish weren't biting much that week, so we will have to return at a different time of the year! Thanks Darrnel!

Our stay at Breathe Vacation Rentals was absolutely amazing! They even have an amazing gym—which, to be honest, we didn’t touch at all because we were too busy relaxing! Jim’s place was great and had absolutely everything we needed (well stocked on coffee, tea, spices etc). My two sisters and I went up for a quiet getaway for a few days and it was just lovely. The cottage itself is beautiful and so is the property. We came during winter and it was still gorgeous but we can only imagine how extremely beautiful it is in summer when you can enjoy more time outside. Everything was so clean inside and they had thought of tons of small things to keep us comfortable. Well worth the drive and visit to this beautiful place and we would love to come again!

The waterfront is beautiful, with a well-kept fire pit and a peaceful lake that felt private during the week. The cottage was thoughtfully stocked with everything from soap and coffee to all the necessary appliances. The internet was fast, and the heat pump kept us warm on cooler nights. We kayaked and canoed around the lake several times, enjoying the wildlife—turtles, herons, ducks, loons, and frogs. The fire pit was perfectly placed for sunset views, with plenty of kindling and wood. The BBQ worked great, and Verona offered everything we needed, including good food at Muddy Waters Restaurant and treats at a local bakery and Kawartha ice cream shop. The fall colors were stunning throughout our stay. Highly recommend this cottage for a peaceful, well-equipped getaway!"

Thank you Ryan!! This listing is the perfect escape from the city and has EVERYTHING you need. The host was very responsive, walked us through setting up a fire. Even in the craziest of snowstorms it was cozy and warm. Gorgeous decor. Comfortable couch. Couldn't say enough nice words!! Some airbnbs you can tell the host has never actually stayed there because they are missing dishes etc or it's not set up nicely. This place was PERFECT and you can tell the host puts a lot of care into the space and has stayed there themselves. Will have to be back!!!!!!!

The wood stove by the big TV and cushy couch was great. The hot tub was amazing. Lake side view off the deck was very nice. Strongly recommend. We’d love to come back.

Majid is a great host and provided us with everything we could possibly need. The cottage is maintained and equipped as if it were for his own use. He’s also very welcoming. I highly recommend this place—we’ll definitely come back!
