Fjord Cottage in Hardanger, near Trolltunger&Flåm

AnnabelleRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Maria and Jarle were fantastic hosts! The Cottage by the Fjord is a charming and cozy spot that felt like home. We loved the cider walk and local hikes and maybe most of all, just hanging out on the water and in the backyard. On top of it, Jarle and Maria were quick to respond and assist. Thank you, Jarle, for telling us the history of your family home. So special! Fantastic and idyllic stay!
The timber house features a two-level structure with wooden siding and a sloped roof, partly covered in greenery. A spacious covered porch is visible, alongside large windows allowing natural light in. The surrounding nature includes trees and shrubbery.

Modern Home with Amazing Views - Perfect Getaway

FedericaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
I had a wonderful stay at Jarle's home. The location is absolutely fantastic, nestled in a peaceful spot with breathtaking views of the fjords and surrounding mountains. It truly felt like an escape into nature. Getting there was a breeze thanks to the detailed instructions provided by the host, which made the whole experience stress-free from the start. The house itself was cozy and very well equipped – everything we needed was right there, making it feel like a true home away from home. Jarle was exceptionally kind and attentive, always just a message away if I had a question. It is clear he and his wife genuinely care about their guests' comfort and experience. That said, the place does have a lived-in feel, so if you're looking for a more impersonal or hotel-like stay, this might not be the perfect fit. But if you appreciate character, comfort, and a sense of being welcomed into someone’s home, you’ll love it here. Overall, a truly memorable and relaxing stay. Highly recommended!
A charming white house is situated near a serene fjord, with lush green mountains rising dramatically in the background. The windows reflect natural light, while a small boat is anchored in the calm waters nearby, offering a sense of peace and connection to nature.

A comfortable house with a jacuzzi, a light, spacious kitchen, a large bed, and wonderful views of the surrounding countryside, especially from the decking. Ivar who looks after the place was friendly and helpful, and arrival and communication were easy. Please note that there may be surcharges eg for extras and electricity - check house rules. Highly recommended.
The image captures a panoramic view of a lush valley surrounded by mountains, with a winding river flowing through. A ski lift stands in the foreground, while scattered cabins are visible throughout the greenery, showcasing the natural landscape under a clear blue sky.

Cozy house with walking distance to Bergen Centre

FlemmingRating, 5 stars3 days ago
We had a great stay at Håkon’s house for our 1-day trip to Bergen. The house is located on a relatively quiet street, which mostly has pedestrian and bike/e-scooter traffic. This also means that there is no parking options right next to the house, however, we found several parking options close by, so this turned out to not be much of an issue for us. The house was clean and comfortable and featured all the amenities we would usually expect. When considering this house, please be aware that all bedrooms are on the second floor and the stairs going up to these are steep - hence, if anyone in the group has walking difficulties, this could be a problem. Otherwise, we would fully recommend this house to other people traveling to Bergen.

Jesastova

We loved the opportunity to stay in an authentic Norwegian cabin that was at least 250 years old. From outside it looks like a modest cabin but opens to a spacious and warm living room and dining area. The kitchen is modern and well equipped and there is a good shower. The two upstairs bedrooms, one opens to the kitchen, had great views of the mountains and very comfortable beds. Great venue to visit Flam, Borgund and Urnes Stave churches or to hike. The farmers market at Laerdal was excellent.

House near fjord, mountains and glacier

JobRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We have stayed in Bergrid's house for two days and enjoyed it very much. It is in a quite area, looking out over one of the inlets of the Hardangerfjord. There is a nice waterfall close by. With good weather you have good places to enjoy outside. Stores and restaurants are a bit further away, so get some supplies when you're on the way. The house itself has everything you need and there is sufficient privacy. You do hear some walking going on the higher floor, but not on an annoying level. We do recommend to stay here!

Jorunns apartment

SouganthikaRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Christen is unlike any other host. He met me at the bus stop and helped me with the luggage. He has a handwritten book of recommendations on where to eat and what to do, along with helpful instructions for the stay. He had left a bottle of wine, and cookies and coffee for me, which was very thoughtful. The place is super walkable to the city centre and the tour/airport bus stops. While central, it’s also tucked away from all the city centre madness and thereby offers a quiet and relaxing place to stay after a busy day of exploring the beauty of Norway. Christen was very friendly, flexible and welcoming. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a central place to stay in Bergen (as long as they don’t mind climbing up a few flight of stairs). Thanks for the lovely time in Bergen, Christen! Hope to stay here again when my travels bring me back to the incredibly beautiful city of Bergen. :) Cheers!
