Bed and breakfast vacation rentals in Grand Union Canal

Our host’s mother met us at the door of the lovely manor house with a warm welcome. Inviting us in we felt taken back in time with the beautiful and interesting antiques, and rustic ceiling beams, inset stones around spacious curtained windows, cozy nooks and surprises to enjoy as she shared stories about all the history and love that has gone into making this place special! Our bedroom was lovely and spacious with a quaint window seat and an antique wardrobe. The bath had a claw foot tub (still with modern shower attachments). Another pleasant surprise was the fragrant rose and flower garden that she tends herself and the row of topiaries. There is a path to enjoy a shaded pond beside the green, peaceful pasture. We ended our stay with a lovely breakfast with the best toast ever, made on the stove griddle and served with fresh butter, marmalade, plus cereal and fruit, coffee and yogurt. She also sat and shared wonderful stories. Please visit -you’ll love it and her!

Joanne was so lovely and accommodating. We arrived earlier than check-in as we were going to Silverstone that day and she had everything ready for us. Everything was spotless, well-decorated and the bed was extremely comfortable. We were very much appreciative of the great breakfast spread each morning (pastries, toast, fruit, granola - Joanne offered extras if we wanted). Thanks so much for the amazing stay!

Chris and Andrea are wonderful and very welcoming hosts. The room is spotless and beautifully decorated, with a lovely view. Breakfast items are always fresh, and the kitchen, bathroom, and all other essentials were available, making it feel just like home. The neighbourhood is beautiful and surrounded by nature—perfect for peaceful daily walks. The house is directly across from the bus stop to Oxford, making the commute very easy and quick. This place is perfect in every way, and I highly recommend it. Thank you, Chris and Andrea !😊

we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Old Tom's, our hosts were very friendly, made us feel welcome, we loved the room , the bed was amazingly comfortable, we slept solidly al night. The breakfast was delicious, one of the best we've had, we will definately visit again.

I had the most wonderful stay at Tony's house. From the moment we booked, Tony was incredibly communicative, friendly, and helpful, making the whole process seamless. The house itself is fantastic – it was spotlessly clean, comfortable, and exactly as described in the listing and photos. It truly felt like a home away from home. Tony is a perfect host; he's so welcoming and clearly cares a great deal about his guests' experience. I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. I would highly recommend it to anyone and will definitely be back.

Felt really looked after, so many thoughtful touches to make you feel at home. Barbara and Bill are lovely hosts who take care of your every need. Ich kam nach Oxford um meinen Sohn zu besuchen, der derzeit an der Universität in Reading arbeitet. Julia und ihre Familie waren sehr freundlich, offen und interessiert. Ich fühlte mich schnell zuhause und wir verbrachten schöne Abende mit Florent's leckerem Essen und internationalen Freunden. Auch mein Sohn war willkommen. By the way konnte ich schnell meine Sprachkenntnisse verbessern ;-). Julia zeigte mir die grünen Wege nach Oxford und gab mir tolle Tipps. Ein Fahrrad zur Verfügung zu haben war super, ebenso die Möglichkeit, mein Mietwägelchen in Absprache mit Julia parken zu können. Very friendly and helpful throughout my stay. breakfast was absolutely superb and no expense spared to ensure you had everything you needed. very relaxed stay and i'd certainly consider it again. The house and surroundings are absolutely stunning.

Had a fantastic stay when attending Reggaeland Concert at National Bowl MK. Prior to arriving, Amanda was great with tips on local taxis getting to and from the venue. Accomadation itself was spotless exactly as the photos with with good supply of tea coffee & biscuits in the room. Shower was fantastic in ensuite bathroom. Breakfast what can we say, we had 4 excellent pached eggs each morning. Had great conversation each morning with both Amanda & Glenn even learning the history of the Old School and the village. Would definatley look to booking again when attending future events in MK

I have to say I am so lucky to stay in Althea's place. Very nice house and room. Althea is very lovely and friendly, and she shows me around the city, stores. We have a lot of talks. It just feel at home. 100% recommendation😃

Roksi and Nat were so lovely! and hands down, one of the best airbnb’s i have ever stayed in! The room was amazing and the guest space was SOOO lovely!!!! My friend and I sincerely had the best time there. If you’re planning an oxford trip, I can’t recommend this place enough!

Lovely, homely and well kept B and B. Everything was spotless and very accommodating.

I was attending a workshop at Kings Cliffe. The Cross Keys Inn was perfect for my visit. It was walking distance to the workshop, I was able to have a drink and dinner at the Inn in the evenings. The room was quiet, the bed comfy and the bathroom recently renovated. All the staff were very welcoming. I’d definitely stay again.

Fabulous two night stay over the Grand Prix weekend. Amanda was incredibly welcoming and nothing was too much trouble . Amanda and her family made us feel at home immediately. Beautiful location and home . A thoroughly enjoyable stay with everything you could possibly need .
