We really enjoyed our weekend in the lodge. It's in a lovely location, very close to the lake which is beautiful. We enjoyed a great walk all the way around it, and there is a good cafe selling tasty breakfast baps and great cakes very close by. It was great to have a garden which the dogs enjoyed and we enjoyed the hot tub every evening. It wasn't quite warm enough for us to sit outside, but it would have been very nice to sit on the balcony listening to the birdsong and enjoying the peace and quiet. There was everything we needed in terms of kitchen equipment, towels, blankets and books. Thanks for the dog treats and very welcome bottle of wine which went down well after traffic holdups on the M6. But the drive was worth it!

This cottage was perfect for us - 2 couples with small children. Louise gave us loads of information before we arrived, and her husband greeted us shortly after we arrived. It was such an easy stay with small children, we had everything we needed, and the stair gate made life so easy! There were lots of lovely touches like providing snacks, coffee and jams. And Louise even provided some glasses for the solar eclipse!! The surroundings are really peaceful and the kids loved the 2 Shetland ponies in the field opposite. There are lots of options for walks from the cottage, or a short drive away. The Black Lion pub did a great roast dinner. I found there was so much thought put into the stay and Louise was very accommodating. Would definitely recommend!

What a treasure this place is. It's not just beautiful, peaceful and extremely homely - it's loved, full of stories and life. Shane is a perfect host - kind, responsive and dedicated to providing a lovely space. Even better is that he built it himself - so every little part has a purpose and a story. He knows each tree in the garden. There are peacocks, hares, deer and birdsong. Some places are meant to make people smile :-)

Great location for Alton Towers. Apartment was clean and spacious and in a great location. Lots of shops and food places nearby. Would recommend to friends and stay again.

This was such a peaceful place to stay for a long weekend! The lodge is spacious with a well equipped kitchen, comfy seating area and large veranda. As it's the end of the run it felt private and the view of trees and sound of birdsong was very relaxing. Just what we needed!

This was a lovely stay in a very peaceful and quaint town. The property was really nice. Clean, quiet and with everything we needed to feel at home. The host, felicity, was very helpful and communicative during our stay to make sure that we were happy. We used it as a base to visit Alton towers and it was perfect. We will definitely return!

My husband and I had a fantastic stay at Mary's place! The cottage is just as described and in a beautiful and peaceful location. All of the instructions Mary provided were easy to follow, and while we didn't meet in person, Mary was communicative and available if needs be. We hope to return again soon!

What a lovely little cottage, very clean and tidy and well stocked with everything you need in a home away from home. Little touches like the forget me not box and honesty box with holiday essentials should you forget anything (which we did!) was welcomed. Check in and out couldn’t have been easier and the shortbread biacuits and bottle of fizz was a nice touch Beautiful walks literally on the doorstep and easy access to the Tissington trail make this cottage a great place to stay in the Peaks.

We were attending a Utility Warehouse conference weekend at the Telford International Centre so location and sleeping arrangements were high on our priorities. Sarah and the property were a perfect match. Sarah was so supportive from booking through to departure, everything you could possibly need was in the property including a guest pack for local information. Parking right outside the front door, so not far to carry luggage. The property is so bright and airy, the view from the kitchen area onto the very large back garden is beautiful straight from first light in the morning. Any questions I had were answered promptly. I would highly recommend this property, I would also have no hesitation on rebooking when we return next year.
