Family-friendly vacation rentals in Giske Municipality

We recently stayed at Terje’s charming farmhouse in Norway’s Hjørundfjord, and it was a special experience. The farmhouse blends old-world charm with modern amenities and offers breathtaking views of the fjord. The house is equipped with all modern comforts, including a well-stocked kitchen, fast Wi-Fi, a big-screen smart TV, an outdoor hot tub, and comfortable beds to accommodate a large group. Two ferry ports a short drive from the farmhouse offer free rides to Ålesund, the roadless village of Trandal, and other destinations. Terje was exceptionally hospitable, providing great recommendations for local hiking activities and promptly responding to all our inquiries. He went above and beyond to make our stay at the farmhouse exceptional. Highly recommend this place for a peaceful and picturesque getaway!

This was our second stay with Jon Robert & Anna. It is a beautiful place across a small road from the lake with mountain views - including views of waterfalls & the glacier. The apartment is decorated with personal touches, making you feel like you are at home. There are MANY things to do just a drive away. Ålesund is only an hour away. We also drove to Runde (the famous bird island) from here. Jon Robert has a printed guide book with exact routes on driving tours of the area. He is so helpful and friendly. The apartment is very clean, and in very good condition.

Wonderful and unique property in a stunningly beautiful natural landscape. We wish we could have stayed longer to spend more time here. Easily the best lodging of our trip and likely the best airbnb we’ve ever stayed at. All of the various indoor/ outdoor areas at the property are awesome. And we were very lucky with weather and only one rainy day. It is quite steep/ many steps up and down between the main house, cabin, and boat house with additional lounge areas down by the water so may not be for everyone. Toril and her husband were also so gracious to show us all around the property at check in, even a bit later than expected. This place was very special and would love to stay there again some day!

We had a longer stay of 7 nights with Bottolf and Siw during our Norway trip – and it was just great! The place was mainly used for relaxation, for which the Jacuzzi was absolutely perfect. The house was very well equipped, clean and cozy – you immediately felt comfortable. We would particularly like to emphasize the warm hospitality: Bottolf regularly gave us great excursion tips and always inquired whether we were doing well and whether we needed anything else. We felt completely comfortable and would come back anytime. Thank you for the wonderful time!

A great place to relax with nice views. Two apartments fully met our expectations. We were in a group of 10 people. A good base for exploring Norway

We had booked almost three weeks for 6 adults over Easter and felt comfortable from the first moment. The living room was very nicely decorated for Easter, warm, very clean and big enough for all of us. We didn't miss anything. Skiing was no longer possible due to the lack of snow, but we were able to take wonderful hikes. Lise's house is really recommended and we would like to come back.

Great apartment centrally located, nice hosts

This was one of the most beautiful places we've ever stayed. The views in every direction, especially from the deck are unbelievable. The house was really well equipped, we cooked most of our meals and appreciated being able to do laundry. Bedroom and living room were very comfortable. We found a bunch of great hikes nearby. Our hosts were very friendly and easy to communicate with. Would absolutely recommend.

We have had an amazing week! It is the second time we stayed here and there will be a next time for sure. You need a car, that goes without saying but the view, the charming house, the facilities (we loved the use of the small boat) and the quitness offer a great alternative on a rainy or relaxing day.

This peaceful place mixed with a comfortable place to call home was the ideal ending to a trip to Norway. The house is set up with great areas to sit and write, kick back and relax, cook delicious food, and get a good night's sleep. I enjoy the house and thought it was cozy. The island was quiet, the walks were inspiring and the sea and mountain views were breathtaking. Ruben's parents were a delight and so helpful and kind. I can't say enough about their generosity. If you're looking for a place to relax, reset, and unwind this is the ideal location. It's rare in this busy world to find a place where you can breath fresh air, move your body, be inspired by nature and feel safe in a cozy home. The island has sheep and llamas to entertain you! If I come back to Norway, I'll definitely make this part of my trip! Thank you to Ruben and his parents for creating a safe haven for us all to enjoy!

We had an amazing stay at an amazing Norwegian farmhouse with hiking nearby and floating saunas on the fjord in Sæbo. Very central to take ferries wherever you want to go. We highly recommend staying here!

Nice and spacious apartment in the heart of Ålesund. Super close to the public pool, which was fantastic for the kids:)

We loved staying in this spacious and modern apartment with beautiful mountain views. We got to do two hikes very close by that were spectacular, up to Brunstadsætra and to Vellesætra, highly recommended!

Monica and Ivar are great hosts. they are very welcoming and helpful. The stay is very nice and cozy and with all the amenities. There is a bus stand just right outside the house and it takes only 15 minutes to go to Alesund central. The view from the house is also a bonus.

Very nice place. Flexible and easy check-in, everything ready when we arrived and as described. Nice view and a short distance to the center of Ulsteinvik. Will gladly come back

Fantastic Airbnb and host, location is central to everything in the area in both winter (skiing) and summer (hiking). The space has a very comfortable bed, cosy fire and well equipped kitchen. Highly recommend!

Asbjorn is super likeable and very helpful. The house is located in a beautiful environment with many excursion possibilities. House is huge with everything you need, but rather old-fashioned. But it is still recommended.

We had a super winter holiday at the cabin , would love to come back! Nice location close to the cover and the cabin is well equipped and large. Perfect starting point for some nice relaxing days!
