Channa & Ursa's place was incredible! Channa met us at the Hiriwadunna Bathing Spot and took us via tuk tuk to the boat. He came across at about 7pm to prepare our meal that Ursa had prepared. The Sri Lankan meal was so delicious & plentiful! Channa then met us at 6am the following day and took us via tuk tuk to Lion's Rock, he charged the same low price as PickMe for return! The breakfast after the Rock was super yum - an array of curries and fruits. Channa then took us back across the lake so we could head to Dambulla on the public bus. That evening, he took us out on the boat for a fish - while we didn't catch anything, it was an incredible experience & a gorgeous place to enjoy a beer & watch the sunset. The BBQ was a nice treat too! We had elephant visitors (!!) and so much wildlife like mongoose, squirrels, buffalo & birdlife - sad we didn't see the wild cats, next time ;) Channa then made sure we got on the right bus to Kandy. Thank you for a wonderful & mesmerising stay!!!

We will forever remember our special stay at Maulie's place! We arrived late at night from our train ride from Colombo and Maulie picked us up from the train station and welcomed us with the most amazing dinner prepared under trees. We felt right at home! The food there is some of the best we had in Sri Lanka - especially the jack fruit curry! The birders cabin was the best as we felt like we were one with nature - the birds and insect sounds, the fire flies at night while you sleep under the mosquito nets. We also took the canoe onto the lake and it was the most magical serene experience! Maulie and her brother always made us feel so welcome and we would highly recommend this place for all nature lovers!

We had a fabulous stay! The view over Sigiriya Rock is spectacular and we loved being able to cool off in the pool. The rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Our host was very friendly and responsive. We would definitely recommend this place!

This is a private independent house, the host lives on the first floor, the guest lives on the second floor, spacious and bright, quiet at night. The location provided by the host is inaccurate, we could only get to the outside street, we called a second tuk tuk, after checking in we checked the map, there is a “Leisure Stay” location which is very accurate, looking at the picture, this is the B&B, it is recommended to use this navigation, simple and clear. The Host is a nice couple. They helped me find out about the bus to Trincomalee the day I left, called a tuk tuk, and gave me a sandwich. But the charter driver he recommended was no good. The driver himself was fine, but he lacked the ability to accompany foreign guests. He couldn't understand basic English place names or requests, and couldn't find famous attractions. He asked while walking. The ticket office in Dambulla was not at the Golden Temple gate. He didn't know, so I had to walk a long way to find the ticket office. The car is also in poor condition, and the air conditioning is insufficient. We went to four attractions that day: Pidurang Cave, Lion Rock, Dambulla Cave Temple, and the Okana Buddha statue, and the charge was 25,000 yuan. I hope the host can recommend a better driver. All in all, the B&B itself is pretty good, I recommend staying here.

Samantha and Kauchi were the perfect hosts. On arrival were were given welcome drinks and Kauchi informed us of the local attractions, including the Hurulu eco park (where we visited and saw loads of wild elephants extremely close up and virtually deserted apart from 2 jeeps), Polonnaruwa, Sigiriya and pidurangala. The room was lush, the pool cooling in the heat, and the bird life amazing! We ate traditional breakfast in the train hut whilst the train drop off people (it's a delight to watch). We also had some of the best home cooked food we tried in Sri Lanka, fresh as it can be. We felt so well looked after, cared for, and relaxed in this chilled out environment. It's virtually a deluxe homestay, but more! Their ethos of living of their land with minimal waste was inspirational. I will remember the great chats had with Kauchi who's English is excellent. Out of the 8 places we stayed in Sri Lanka over 18 days this place is equal first 🥇 place. Thank you so much everything team 🙏 x

Paul's place was perfect. Very quiet and serene. We were two families with four kids in tow and this space was perfect for them to explore. The pool looked inviting but we never managed to get in! Wouldn't hesitate booking this place again.

Had a lovely 2 nights at Yohann’s place. The house and grounds are beautiful in a very secluded area but easily accessible by car on well maintained tarmac. Chamara and Sampath were on site to help us check in and show us around the accommodation. They also provided a lovely bbq dinner on our arrival with excellent subsequent meals made completely according to our preferences. Would love to stay again and I’d highly recommend Yohann’s place.

We loved our stay here. We are backpacking around Sri Lanka and wanted to try something different than hostels and this was perfect. Such an experience! Animal sounds to listen to at night. So many beautiful fireflies at night. Hashan was a good host. Good at communicating and helping where help was needed. Thank you for this experience!

Devika was an exceptional host—warm, welcoming, and incredibly responsive. Finding the place was easy, and from the moment we arrived, she made us feel right at home. The space was spotless and had a cozy, homely vibe that we truly appreciated. Devika went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable, even providing refreshments on arrival, which was such a thoughtful touch. She was always available whenever we needed her, yet gave us plenty of space to relax. Staying at her place truly enriched our visit to the ancient city of Anuradhapura, and we’re so glad we chose to stay with her. We would absolutely recommend her place and hope to return in the future!
