Susan‘s cottage was absolutely perfect for our extended weekend. Stay. Everything was exactly as expected in this cozy perfectly decorated cottage. There was so much attention to each and every detail making us feel right at home for our stay. During our stay, we frequented Allegheny state park and had a great time exploring the park, fishing and hiking for several days. The park took us about 30 minutes to get to. We would definitely stay at Susan‘s cottage again.

Jim was a very good host. Met us at check-in to make sure we didn’t need anything. He had recommendations for local activities. He even took the time to gather some kindling when I mentioned we wanted to hang out by the fire pit one night.

This cabin is paradise for anyone looking to escape the noise of the city or suburbs. Even though I read all the amenities, something about “cabin in the woods” still vibed roughing it to me— but not so. It had all the best parts of camping without the work. The bathhouse and the cabin are both heated and cooled, and I needed both in May! Starlink worked great— no issues working remotely. The cabin is about as spacious as it looks. Most listings use wide-angle shots to exaggerate space, so I was surprised by how much there actually was. There’s also a good amount of space between you and the other rentals. I stayed here for a month. I’ve done a lot of long Airbnb stays while working remotely, and usually when you book a longer stay, the hosts disappear. Not here. Amanda and her family checked in regularly— took the trash, restocked household goods, dropped off firewood. They were respectful of my privacy and space, but an absolute pleasure to talk to when they were around.
