Family-friendly vacation rentals in Floyd County

We enjoyed our stay close to Churchill Downs for Derby Week activities.

This house was perfect for our family (8 adults). Julie was very responsive, even when we locked ourselves out of the house late on night. Nice neighborhood too!

This house is in a very nice neighborhood with plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby. There's plenty of room for a big family/group. I had another Airbnb host cancel my reservation only 2hr before check in. I was already on the highway with my family and Barksdale management moved this property up on their cleaning list as it had just been vacated around noon in order to accommodate us. I can't say enough for how much we appreciated that. Thank you so much for saving our weekend!!!

This house we great for large groups. We originally had 11 people coming but ended up with only 8. The house was older with a ton of character. It looks like it is a very up and coming neighborhood that has had a lot of work done to it. We came in for a work trip at the expo center and this house was only a 5 minute drive to it each day. Hot tub was awesome and back yard was nice. Will look at renting this house again for next years convention.

Fantastic stay close to everything and super clean. Definitely a great place for families with Kids. No lack of towels and hot tub was very clean and nice. James was super helpful and communicative

Great Airbnb in a cute, quiet neighborhood. The house was spotless! The bedrooms were a nice size with plenty of room. We enjoyed the two living spaces and the large dining room table. We would definitely book again if ever in the Louisville area! Thank you for an enjoyable stay!

I had a fantastic stay at this Airbnb! The place was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The host was friendly, responsive, and made check-in a breeze. The location was perfect—close to everything but still quiet and peaceful at night. I especially appreciated the little touches and clear instructions. The place was lovely and wonderfully centrally located. They were incredibly responsive and gave amazing check in instructions. The home while beautiful did have an interesting layout with the bedrooms. We would absolutely stay here again.

We stayed here for an Easter getaway with some friends and our dog. Everything was really clean, the kitchen was really well stocked, it was really quiet, and the space was perfect for all of us. The screened in porch was amazing…I wanted it to come home with me! Overall, great stay. Definitely recommend and would stay again!!

This was our second stay at Guest House on Story, and was definitely as good, if not better than the first. Kim is an excellent and responsive host who strives to make sure your stay is exactly what you need. We had a large group of adults visiting Louisville to celebrate a birthday weekend, and we had plenty of space to spread out and relax. The area has fun walkable bars, breweries, and cocktail lounges, along with restaurants! Highly recommend Tartan House and Biscuit Belly. Guests should be aware as others have mentioned that given the location in Butchertown, there is occasionally a notable smell outside. It very much depends on the direction of the wind and day/time of the week. Do know though that you cannot smell this inside the house! We caught a whiff outside here and there, but definitely not the entire time. Highly recommend Guest House on Story, and I'm sure we will stay again when in Louisville with a large group.

Sandee is one of the best hosts I've ever had staying somewhere! She was so thoughtful with all of her actions and communication. Such a great spot for karaoke and bar hopping, we ate at Ramsi's Cafe and Gralehaus for breakfast. At the heart of the highlands this really is the perfect place, lots of history in the home and a very relaxing vibe.

This was a fantastic choice for our family. Plenty of room for us and our 3 young kids to spread out, and rest, and feel more at home. A great price, better than the other places we were looking into, and we were able to book it very short notice. The place was beautiful, the beds were comfy, and they had notes here and there letting you know how to work things (shower, fire place, really cool chairs I never would have guessed had a foot rest lol). We often entered the house when it was already dark, and they have motion sensor lights that make it easy to follow the path. We were constantly impressed with everything, we loved our stay!

Beautiful neighborhood and wonderful pool area! The place was exactly as described and the host provided clear, easy to follow instructions to get in. My kids loved the pool especially! We’d definitely stay again if in Louisville!!

We loved our stay here! The off-street parking was great. We also loved using the pool and just hanging out in the various spaces! We really appreciated how helpful our hosts were when we needed to communicate with them. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and were very accommodating. Pro Tip: The upstairs shower has better water pressure than the downstairs one. :) This place is wonderful & we'd love to stay again if/when we're in town.
