Michael’s place is very accommodating with all the amenities described. My family travelled from several different locations to be together here and it all worked perfectly. I was bummed that the other visiting guests not staying there could not use the pool, but I understand the liability and respect the rules. All in all, it was a wonderful trip!

The place was gorgeous, we enjoyed the pool and lime tree!! Would stay again. great location to visit my brother.

The view alone is worth the price! Everything was so lush and beautiful! We felt like we were in our very own private resort. We enjoyed the spacious house itself and the outdoor area. The pool was great and the beds were super comfortable! This was a great base to explore the entire Big Island of Hawaii! I would recommend this home to anyone! Just book it already!

We loved the house and how spacious and comfortable it was for a party of five - with three bedrooms and bathrooms. The host was super responsive and helpful. We really appreciate the hospitality. The house is located in a peaceful, quiet area, with many cooking utensils for us to enjoy home cooked meals.

We enjoyed the private and peaceful location and it worked out well for our brief stay on that side of the island with a reasonable drive to some areas that were just too far from the west side of the island. The bed was comfortable and we appreciated the AC as my husband gets hot and sweaty at night without it. The frogs were loud at night but the fan helped cover the noise so we appreciated it. We didn't get the chance to meet our hosts but had a great stay overall and would happily stay again in the future.

Beautiful home on the peaceful Hamakua Coast. Our family enjoyed a wonderful and quiet staycation - the pool was delightful and temp was just right with the cool ocean breeze. Kitchen was stocked with basic essentials making cooking easy. Very comfortable sleep spaces - cool breeze at night with windows open. Loved every minute! Suzy was very friendly and responsive. The grounds were so beautiful - lots of flowers and fruits surrounding us. I highly recommend this home as your next getaway. I will stay here again. Thank you Suzy and Peter!

Wonderful rural location tucked away but not a far drive to Hilo, Volcano National Park, several beaches, farmers markets, other beautiful places to explore. The Airbnb had all needed amenities, really comfortable bed, plenty of space, games and books to read, a nice picnic table outside with a tent garage for the car so your luggage doesn’t get wet if it rains when you arrive, and even a robe and slippers which I am a sucker for - makes me feel so cozy when I am away from home! More than happy with our stay, we hope to come back!

We are so grateful to have found this Airbnb just a few months before Merrie Monarch. While it is a little further away from Hilo, the drive was very easy and filled with green views. She was very responsive to answering all our questions and if we ever needed anything. Definitely quick and easy going communication which I appreciate. The home fit 4 of us comfortably and had everything we could possibly need for our 5 day trip. The pups were also very cute, friendly and well behaved. The location of the home is also in such a beautiful little neighborhood. Would definitely stay here again if visiting in the future. Thank you so much!!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. This place felt like home in a very quiet and beautiful neighborhood. It was so perfect for our needs. 2 hours to South Point area/Green Sand beach. Less than an hour to Volcano National Park. Half hour to Pahoa beaches and geothermal ponds. Super clean, well stocked with amenities, very responsive hosts. I would absolutely stay here again.

We absolutely loved our stay at the home on the lava field. It was hands-down the most unique place we’ve ever stayed. We appreciated the little extras provided by the host, such as waters, granola bars, and house slippers to wear inside. The off-grid location was very peaceful and serene; there was nothing like waking up to the sunrise over the lava field and enjoying a cup of coffee on the patio. The night sky was also fantastic because of how dark it gets in this area. Be sure to heed the host’s instructions by getting to the Airbnb before dark on the day of check-in, even though the directions are very clear, it is so much easier to find the home when it is still light out. We were lucky enough to see the volcano erupting at volcano National park and you could even see the orange sky over the ridge from the Airbnb when we got back for the evening, super cool. Highly recommend this stay for anyone looking for a unique setting and a more remote/serene getaway.

The space was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully stocked with everything I needed. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Beautiful house with tasteful furnishing. A bit cramped if the tv is pulled out because the tv is set up on a rollable cabinet but still very beautiful and comfortable place to use as base for exploring the volcano national park. Host is friendly and communicative.

The place was exactly as advertised and very clean. Conveniently located as a jumping off point for both Hilo side and the national park. Would stay again.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here! The house was absolutely wonderful, and just as described! Located close to Hilo, which was very nice. We loved the spacious front porch and yard outside. It was perfect for drinking coffee in the morning. The portable AC unit allowed for a cooler bedroom at night, which was great for us! We’d recommend staying here to any couple looking for a secluded spot on the Big Island!

Denise and Brian were extremely accommodating and friendly. We appreciate all the recommendations. And love all the detailed signs around the home, answering any and all possible questions. My friends will 100% be looking to book with them in the future. The property is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places I’ve ever stayed. Very well kept. Wow! We couldn't contain our joy and excitement when we stepped onto this property. The backyard and lanai are absolutely amazing! We felt like we were living in a jungle. I loved the open window facing the lush greenery and all the natural sounds that came with it. I must say, the house was immaculately clean. It was so comfortable, so peaceful—just perfect. Cindy went out of her way to help us with some extra requests and shared some great tips. This place truly exceeded our expectations.

We had an enjoyable stay at the jungle get away. It was very peaceful and beautiful. Liz gave us a number of local places to visit though we did not have the spare time but will if we are ever there again. Liz was very responsive when we had questions and would definitely stay there again.

Excellent house and hosts were super responsive. Can’t beat the view. It’s a quiet hood and things are a bit of a drive but great place to relax after a day of activities.

Great location! Equidistant from Hilo and Volcanoes National Park. Clean. The only issue was that this listing does not have a dishwasher which I missed but otherwise an amazing place to stay!

My great luck in staying at sweet spots has continued, although I’m familiar with the area and knew what I was looking for. Hooray for Hideaway RainForest’s accuracy about their lovely, comfortable, well-appointed home. Such a fab spot I’ll even be recommending it to my ex-husband and his wife for their upcoming trip. This house was an absolutely beautiful. Perfect combination between modern and Hawaiiana. If you’re looking for a peaceful stay close to Volcano National Park, this is the spot. We look forward to returning 💕

Watermelon House was perfect for my family and I! Beautiful, peaceful and spacious. Our kids enjoyed it the most especially. We played board games, charades (plenty of space for this 😁) and just had a genuine bonding time with our family! Sabrina was great as well! Always quick to respond with any questions or concerns we had. All together, we had a pleasure staying in this home and will definitely be booking again in the near future 🥰

Nallelie is very responsive and does everything she can to make your stay at her place comfortable. Note that the road out there is a little slower than the GPS seems to predict due to it being bumpy.

We loved the house and the loud nature sounds at night from the Coqui frogs were fun and lovely white noise for us. The house is sweet and comfy and lovely Hawaiian style decor. We enjoyed how private and local the neighborhood was and close to both the National Park and downtown Hilo, right in between. Great place overall!
