Bed and breakfast vacation rentals in Douro

Quinta da Xandica, located just outside of Valença do Douro village, was a fantastic, and unique experience. It’s rare these days to find an Airbnb hosted by a “real” (boots on the ground) host who is not only there to share local knowledge and accommodates your needs, but literally who also welcomes you in to the ACTUAL family home. It reminded me of a traditional bed and breakfast, in all of the best ways. (Including a lovely breakfast in a dining room!!!) The Quinta was home to Matilde”s great grandfather, and is shared today with her grandmother and father (three generations). It’s a working farm, and an all around charming, beautiful place. Even during our unseasonably rainy visit, the grounds and area was stunning. Practically speaking, the bed was comfortable & the water hot. Dinner made by Matilde was a reasonably priced and delicious with estate wine. We also thoroughly interaction with other guests, the chipped dog, “Bill”, and access to the surrounding area. A treasure!

Uns hat der Aufenthalt bei Marta super gefallen. Sie war stets zur Stelle wenn man etwas gebraucht hat oder eine Frage hatte und war immer freundlich. Das Zimmer und die Küche sind wie beschrieben eigentlich echt schwer in Ordnung, allerdings sehen die Bilder ein bisschen anders aus als in der Realität. Man kann sich in der Küche auch ein bisschen Cornflakes oder Brot zum Frühstück machen, aber in der Innenstadt Portos lässt es sich natürlich ein wenig besser brunchen. Nichtsdestotrotz haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt und können auch nichts an dem Apartment kritisieren. Drei gelungene Tage für uns.

Very nice owners who make you feel welcome. We enjoyed the swinningpool and garden. Breakfast was well taken care off. It's in a quiet envirement, but with the car you can go to Ponte de Lima, Braga or Porto. We enjoyed our time here!

Espaço muito bonito e de arquitectura bem integrada na paisagem. Cuidado nos pormenores e cama muito confortável. Todos os equipamentos de segurança e desinfeção preparados e de fácil acesso. As funcionárias, Bruna e Isabel, muito simpáticas e disponíveis, sempre atentas. A comunicação com a Vânia também correu muito bem e agradeço a atenção que teve. Recomendo vivamente!

I had a lovely weekend at this beautiful manor house. The place is surrounded by nature and perfect for relaxing and unwinding. It’s peaceful, full of charm, and has such a calming atmosphere. The owners are incredibly kind and made me feel right at home, warm, caring, and super welcoming. Truly a special place. I’d definitely love to come back!

Wir hatten eine super Zeit bei Diogo! Man fühlt sich einfach direkt wohl und man merkt dass er als Host aufgeht und es nicht nur ein Beruf für ihn ist. Die Unterkunft ist sauber, man fühlt sich wie zu Hause und kann bei Fragen immer auf Diogo zukommen. Er gibt einem super viele Tipps bezüglich allem möglichen und auch die Lage ist mit 5 Minuten Gehzeit zum Strand perfekt! Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder :)

prachtig huis in landelijke en rustige buurt van Aveiro, grenzend aan een natuurgebied. Er zijn goede fietsen beschikbaar waarmee de stad en het natuurgebied uitstekend te bereiken zijn. Ana en Francisco zijn vriendelijk en behupzaam met tips over de regio.

A 5 star guesthouse. Big house, big room, big living area, big and fully equipped kitchen. Can't ask for more. Highly recommend.

Estancia muy agradable. Situación muy buena para disfrutar de Aveiro y de Costa Nova. Yo iba solo para dormir, porque tenía planes de visitas, pero la piscina y el salón que me ofrecieron se veían muy bien! Los perrillos también encantadores Y el pastel de nata que prepararon para el desayuno muy muy bueno! Para repetir! Gracias!

Really enjoyed the hostel and would stay again. It was focused around the surfing in the morning which was great, Marco is a great teacher and you get plenty of time on the waves. Raquel is a lovely host and the food is excellent, there's a bit of a lack of local things to do and places to eat within walking distance but the nearest city isn't too far if you want to explore in the afternoons/evenings. Would totally reccomend the hostel to anyone wanting to learn how to surf, many thanks : )

André e sua equipe são muito agradáveis, atenciosos. O local da estadia é impecável e muito confortável. Com toda certeza voltaria para me hospedar com ele. Recomendo 100%, pois o custo-benefício é muito grande. A equipe está de parabéns!!

We absolutely loved our time at Cidália’s beautiful property. Cidália and her son Aderito were amazing hosts and wonderful people. The room was comfortable and had stunning views (including rainbows). The breakfast was fantastic and filling. When paired with the view from the balcony made for amazing memories. We had dinner at the Quinta one night and we are so glad we did, so good! Highly recommend and hope we can visit again one day.

Die Quinta ist ein fantastischer Ort zum Wohlfühlen! Die Gastgeber sind unglaublich nett, das Frühstück ist reichhaltig und super lecker. Das Haus ist sehr schön offen, lichtdurchflutet und ruhig gelegen. Dennoch gibt es auch separate Ecken, um sich zurück zu ziehen. Alles ist sehr sauber. Die Umgebung lädt zum Wandern oder Spazieren ein. Wer Städte besuchen möchte, nach Porto oder Aveiro ist es auch nicht weit. Wirklich rundum absolut empfehlenswert. Vielen Dank, dass wir eine fantastische Woche bei euch verbringen durften! Wir kommen hoffentlich wieder!

Everything was good. The place is simple, but at the same time there was everything what we needed. Friendly staff with a good communication. Breakfast was included, pleasant thing for this price. Very good price and value ratio. Thank you for hosting us.

Un sitio recomendable al 100%. Hemos hecho una escapada rápida de una noche y Miguel muy atento desde que llegamos. Pendiente de lo que queríamos, disfrutar y que no pasáramos frío. La casa estaba limpia y ordenada, todo lo que se puede siendo un entorno rural y con con leña para todos los lados. Se podía utilizar cualquier parte de la casa. De diez. Muchas gracias.

Beautiful area and perfect place to stay if you’re needing rest and refreshment after a long travel. Ana was more than helpful despite. Despite our language barrier we got by using the App and Google translate when face to face. Very pleased and will use again next time I’m in the area.

Uma ótima experiência em Arouca! Espaço acolhedor, moderno e muito bem cuidado. Estúdio muito confortável e a kitchette é ideal para uma refeição rápida, depois dos Passadiços do Paiva. Serviço com atenção a cada detalhe. À chegada, fomos surpreendidos com os famosos doces conventuais de uma pastelaria local, o .Come. Estadia 5 estrelas! Sem dúvida uma experiência a repetir. Bom trabalho!

Antonio nous a accueilli tel un maitre d'hôtel. Lieu chargé d'une belle histoire familiale raconté avec passion . La politesse et la courtoisie est bien là Je recommande :)

Très grande maison avec tout ce qu'on a besoin. Nous étions 14 et avons occupés 7 chambres avec chacune une salle de bain. Le réfrigérateur a fait défaut et Tiago l'a remplacé la journée même. Endroit parfait pour visiter le Douro et les villes avoisinantes mais un peu loin pour Porto. L'accès à la maison se fait par la rue arrière.

Nous avons passé un super moment chez Ann et son mari. Ce sont des hôtes adorables, qui nous ont mis très à l’aise. La piscine est un gros plus. On se sent comme à la maison. Surtout ne changez rien et continuez de rendre heureux les voyageurs qui sont de passage dans votre magnifique maison. nous aurions aimé poursuivre le séjour. Tout était parfait.

A really lovely room just like the photos. The family were all very welcoming and helpful. They allowed us to check in early as the room was ready and looked after our bags on our last day .We had a fantastic meal one evening in their restaurant, not to be missed . The only down side was it’s a reasonable walk to the old town of Porto but if you don’t mind that it’s a lovely place to stay

Edgarda to wspaniały gospodarz. Czekał na nas późno w nocy, gdyż opóźnił się nasz transfer. Polecił miejsca, w których można zjeść. W mieszkaniu jest wszystko co było nam potrzebne na tygodniowy pobyt. W naszym pokoju była.osobna łazienka, z kosmetykami, ręcznikami i suszarka do włosów. W kuchni ekspres do kawy, piekarnik, toster, mikrofala i wszystkie potrzebne naczynia i sztućce. W domu jest pralka. Mieszkanie jest współdzielone z innymi mieszkańcami. Nigdy nie było problemu z bezpłatnym parkowaniem na pobliskich ulicach. Obok jest bardzo duże centrum handlowe. Spokojna okolica, w nocy nie było hałasu. W pokoju jest klimatyzacja i duży telewizor. W lodówce czekał na nas zapas wody i wina. Dziękujemy Edgar za pobyt.

Passamos apenas um dia para fugir um pouco da rotina cansativa e ficamos sem palavras para descrever o local. Len e sua esposa foram muito receptivos, simpáticos e prontos para ajudar no que fosse necessário! Com certeza os melhores anfitriões que já conheci. Os cachorros deles são dóceis e calmo, então saiba que não terá nenhum problema com isso. Piscina com borda infinita, estacionamento, a decoração da casa super legal e a limpeza estava presente em cada canto da casa! Um local de paz e tranquilidade. Recomendo de olhos fechados este local que eu voltarei outras vezes.
