It is nestled within the stunning Northern Pennines (AONB) UNESCO Global Geopark and sits next to the historic Nenthead Mines site, which was once a major centre for lead and silver mining. Mill Cottage Bunkhouse is on the C2C cycle route, it is also next to Isaac’s Tea Trail and only a drive away from the Lake District, making it an ideal base for cyclists and walkers.

Great base for exploring the area. With pubs and coop 5 minute drive or 25 minute walk. Recently renovated to a high standard but still feels characterful and cosy. Underfloor heating, induction hob and super insulated. 2 well behaved dogs only are allowed for a small fee. Sorry no other pets allowed.

There are plenty of footpaths and cycle trails meandering through the beautiful Durham Dales and North Pennines. Within easy reach of the Lake District and Northumberland (Hadrians Wall). Pets are welcome, maximum of 2 pets.

The rooms we offer have been designed with the explorer in mind, to use a base to explore the local surrounding area, the Lake District, Northumberland and Durham. We have had guests walking the Isaacs Tea Trail as well as cyclists doing the C2C. After a long day exploring the local area return to refresh yourself in our spacious bathroom complete with underfloor heating.
