Cottage vacation rentals in Cowichan Bay

Stay was nice and relaxing. Lots of beaches to visit in surrounding area and good trails to walk.

We have stayed at this place a few times now and always enjoy our visit. It’s perfect for a big group, has a well stocked kitchen, a cozy fireplace and a wonderful hot tub with views of the beautiful yard. Will be back next year!

We had a wonderful stay at Willow Cottage! The cottage itself was so cozy and clean & the location close to the beach is amazing. It had everything we needed and more, and the hot tub & patio area was the cherry on top! Becky & Scott were welcoming, helpful hosts and we would definitely stay again in the future :)

What a fantastic place! From the view to the hot tub to the really great and well stocked space, we had an amazing stay here with everything that we needed. Even some toys for my toddler! This is a real gem and my only regret is that we didn’t stay longer. I could spend days sitting in the sun room or on the deck watching the wildlife and the view. We will definitely be back! We had a family bday get together here. It was perfect, Hugh and Deb added a "Happy birthday" banner and cake in fridge, what a special extra touch! We had 3 fabulous nights and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet spot in Nanaimo. Hot tub was super bonus!

Great location in beautiful Cowichan valley with access to great hiking (Cowichan bay estuary and Stony Hill were two favourites). Our house was in a quiet location with comfortable bed and furnishings and a private hot tub for an end of day soak. An excellent stay!

We had a wonderful stay at the little house - superb location, amazing host, thoughtful touches to the home and great communication. Pender is magical, and the stay made it perfect.

Very clean, great communication and we really loved the extra touches throughout the space. Lots of extra items that you may need throughout your stay. Very easy check-in! Was private and would be great in the summer with the nice big deck. Space wouldn’t be ideal for some. We were a group of five mid thirties women that luckily have been best friends since childhood. If you aren’t close with your party and all adults, I’d pick a different space. The only bathroom is off the only real bedroom. The upstairs open loft is the 2nd sleeping area and the two single beds are hard. Price does reflect this.

We stayed at Heather and Robs place for 3 nights and it was absolute bliss. It was great to be able to bring our dogs and be provided with pet bowls. The house was spacious and perfect for our family of 4. We spend 3 beautiful days on the beaches around the area and truly enjoyed every minute. This was not our first visit to Port Renfrew so we were prepared with food and drinks but as a heads up to anyone not familiar with the area, it is remote and there are not a lot of options to eat out in the off season. We did enjoy a couple meals at the pub but loved having the full kitchen to be able to prepare meals at the house. Highly recommend this place for a getaway. The view is breathtaking from the kitchen, living room and dining area. You could spend all day just watching the wildlife from the comfort of your Airbnb. Thanks so much, Heather and Rob!

Cozy stay :) Jason gave us a heads up that the power in the town was out several hours before our arrival and provided us with updates every hour. He gave us the opportunity to change our plans if needed. We are happy we ended up deciding to still come because the power came back very shortly after arriving. The house heated back up quickly and we had a wonderful time going to some of the places Jason recommended.

We stayed late March for a bit of spring break and the a lovely time. There was no one staying at the main cottage or the campground so we had the entire property to ourselves. It was very peaceful. The property is beautifully maintained with lots of space to explore. The seals were out everyday. Just a couple minutes drive form the grocery store. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed.

This won’t be surprising because it’s been said in every review. This place is amazing. To have an acre and a half of private, oceanfront property is rare. We loved everything. Sitting on the deck with a glass of wine listening to the waves come in was sublime. Corinne is for sure the quickest, friendliest, most generous host I’ve encountered through Airbnb. Bathrooms had great water pressure. When we had a little downtime, the TV was big and fantastic. The hikes around the area are just top notch. What people haven’t mentioned though is Corinne doesn’t have a lengthy ‘clean to do list’ for when you leave. I also think people are walking away from Airbnb’s due to price gouging. This place is crazy reasonable and I will come again! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us!

The street was very quiet. I think there was only one or two other cabins that were being used that week, which means we had a very peaceful stay. We locked out it was also very sunny the entire week. The place was amazing with big windows, it was clean, bright and beautiful. Thank you very much Cheryl. We had a wonderful stay. This is an outstanding cottage with high levels of comfort. There is plenty of space including handy parking. I can highly recommend and Rachel is a fabulous host.

We had a wonderful stay! Had everything we were looking for -- waterfront location and set up well for children. The location and windows looking out onto the bay, islands, Straight of Georgia and across to Mt. Baker were what we loved most. Saw a lot of wildlife. Steps down to the water were nice too. House was otherwise set up well and as described. Highly recommend this location.

We loved our three night stay on Pender. It was peaceful and the cottage had everything we needed. We enjoyed the walks and runs from the cottage in the morning. We would recommend this in a heart beat!

We found ourselves in town for a family service and Fiona was the utmost kind and supportive host we could have found. The space was absolutely perfect, spotless, serene, and comfortable. It was exactly as described and made a difficult trip much more easy, especially being by the beautiful ocean. We saw a ton of wildlife so the speed limits are absolutely necessary. Thank you Fiona, we will surely be back in the future.

Place was amazing. Instructions were easy to understand. Absolute gem of a location. Was very happy. Only issue was with communication but take that with a grain of salt as there was a funeral apparently so I can’t really complain. Otherwise 10 out of 10 and I wound highly highly recommend

Wonderful hosts, very friendly. Absolutely amazing weekend, would 100% book this place again. The lake was beautiful, and the local food and people were wonderful and friendly.

Flavia and jim have an amazing piece of land, and make you feel right at home. We were free to explore the property. Hardest decision was which part we to hang out at next as there are so many options! They were very kind and even invited us to watch the last flight of a WW2 bomber with them and their friends. The nest was a great little spot with beautiful views and was very clean. I would definitely stay again, and would recommend to anyone.

I had a wonderful stay. The aim of my trip was escaping the city and just grounding into nature. The cottage is perfect for that. This is probably the most thoughtful Airbnb I’ve ever stayed at, as in, Lindsay and Curtis have thought of EVERYTHING, even leaving bowls and towels and poop bags for my dog! Having a hot bath in the light rain outdoors at dusk was a unique and beautiful experience. This property is in the absolute BEST location for anyone wanting to use the numerous trails that are super close by. We did a different stunning hike every day and all were 2-15 mins drive from the property. Also didn’t see anyone else on the hiking trails, which I love. The perfect city escape! Lindsay and Curtis are as responsive and attentive as a host could possibly said! But at the same time, despite being on their property, it was very private. I felt safe knowing they were close by and would respond if needed but I still had that feeling of being alone in the woods. The perfect balance!
