Snail House-unique stay for birders and wildlife

RobinRating, 5 stars2 months ago
This is such a special place. The place is exactly as described and included all the expected amenities. The outdoor living spaces were unique and lovely and the air-conditioning in the bedroom ensure a great night's sleep. What was phenomenal (although this was also accurate described, but maybe not believable), was the wildlife!! Each afternoon we out bananas on the fruit stand and were royally entertained by the squirrel monkeys. We were also serenaded by toucans, scarlet macaws, and howler monkeys. We saw other birds and reptiles. We just loved this!!

El Descanso Cabins 1

We stayed in a hard studio, the last one at the end of the grounds, not in a bungalow. Everything is perfect, A/C, tv, nice bathroom, comfortable bed, fridge, coffee maker. Not big but quiet, with nature and a terrace for morning coffee.

Indigenous Art Center

Volmar and Rosa were lovely people. We enjoyed painting and learning and participating in the process of making chocolate. We don’t speak Spanish so that was somewhat challenging. We stayed in the cabin which was right next to Volmar’s house so very convenient. The bathroom is outside down a few stairs with a typical cold shower but the beds were comfortable. I would recommend staying with this nice family and learning some of the traditions. We were only there one day and two nights so staying longer would be more educational.

Rústica Golfito Cabin

Really nice cozy place in the middle of the jungle. Very kind and friendly hosts. We always felt welcomed. Their backyard is a pure jungle where you can see tropical animals and plants. A car is recommended to do daily tours around that area. Just one minor issue, the WiFi connection doesn’t reach to the house. But if you really need WiFi then you can go to the hosts house nearby. But a few days away from all the social networks is also a really nice experience ;)

Gorgeous Rustic Cabin BnB

Juan ManuelRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
I loved the cabin and the surrounding countryside, but most importantly was the hospitality and kindness of Danger and Lis who were so kind and explained everything I asked them. Danger recommended a shortcut for a super useful return trip and Liz taught me how to cook a spectacular pork rind. His kindness was really out of the ordinary. I did yoga every day and loved being surrounded by unique fauna and flora
