Casa Ola oceanfront home

MarkRating, 5 stars3 months ago
We absolutely LOVED Casa Ola! It's an incredibly comfortable and very well designed home. One of our favorites we've ever stayed in. One of the reasons we chose Casa Ola was for the kitchen and it was great! It is spacious and well-appointed with everything you need to cook for yourself or a group. If you're cooking, make sure to take advantage of Emilio with his fruit and veg truck--excellent produce at reasonable prices! As mentioned in other reviews, the water is slightly rougher than up the playa toward the village but we had no issue swimming, boogie boarding and light surfing right outside the house. We did it several times a day, every day! We will definitely be back to Zancudo and 100% will stay at Casa Ola every time. Every space--from the outdoor patio to the upstairs sitting area to the screened in hammock area and the lovely covered gazebo to watch the sunsets--is magical. Susan was a perfect host, very responsive, accommodating and kind with a wealth of knowledge.

Secluded Beachfront & Rainforest Home @ Paz

GregRating, 5 stars11 months ago
Paz is a special place and Roberto is a wonderful host. The floor to ceiling screens in the living room/dining room situate you right in the secondary forest. Heaven for nature loving bird nerds. If you’ve spent time on the Osa before, you know Howler monkeys wake you at 4:30am. We watched howler, spider, and squirrel monkeys from bed. The beach is a minute walk. A covered porch with hammocks and chairs to enjoy the beautiful Gulfo Dulce. And a small pool to cool off in (key) and watch Macaws, capuchin monkeys, hermit crabs & the waves. We bought groceries in Puerto Jimenez and cooked most of meals for the week. Kitchen has big fridge, sharp knives, and worked well for us. Marluna Lodge (5 min drive) for Taco Tuesday. Visited local surf breaks and surfed the right point break out front of Paz. Tide dependent. Roberto can help you figure it out. Roberto was very attentive, warm, and helpful. He’s created a beautiful space in a beautiful part of the world.

Four Monkeys Eco Lodge Jungle & Beach -The House

TaraRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We loved our stay here! Silvina is great and immediately met us upon arrival. The house is super cute and has everything one needs to be comfortable. The beds are comfortable with nice fans to keep cool at night and we enjoyed the complete kitchen to make all of our meals. The outdoor seating area was our favorite spot to hang and have all of our meals. We loved being able to see all of the incredible wildlife right from the house...monkeys, scarlet macaws, tons of birds and more. The beach is right out front and we enjoyed hearing the sounds of the waves in the background. Silvina is a wonderful hostess and makes you feel right at home and welcome. We loved it here and are already looking forward to staying here again on our next trip back down to this special area. Thank you for everything!

Casa Rio Dulce Private Jungle Home & Surf Break

DavidRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
My husband and I are so lucky to have found the perfect place in Costa Rica get away from it all and decompress. The home itself is very spacious, private and is set among a beautifully landscaped property. Jacko the caretaker was very accommodating, super friendly and helped us set up a couple of excursions while we were there. It was the perfect little home away from home.

Casa Dulce ~ Villa Terrones (Sweet House)

LeticiaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
I honestly have this on my top of spots in CR when I really need to relax and chill. Although, location is far away from the GAM is totally worthy to go there and disconnect! You will be surrounded by nature, 10 min away from where you can find all you need. Also, Ideal if you are planning to visit Corcovado. The place is amazing! Only consideration is that there is not laundry at the house but you can do it in town. Carlos and Marcela are super hosts! They care about you, and you can feel it! They will help you with anything you need, from basic things at the house up to book tours and suggestions of things to do!

Safe family House close to Corcovado and the beach

Vetceterra solutionsRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Total immersion in nature with the desired comfort. Neither too much nor too little. We were not bothered by insects and it was reassuring that all beds were equipped with mosquito nets. Our hosts were welcoming while remaining discreet. The place is very quiet and we loved being able to walk on the private trails where we could see as many animals as in the park without having to organize a complicated expedition. The beach is safe and authentic, there were no tourists but friendly local families enjoying the beautiful scenery. On the last day we saw a group of dolphins a few hundred yards from us in the water! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Las Olas, furnished beachfront cabin with pool.

KrystalRating, 5 stars3 months ago
At Andy’s place the adventure comes to you. People pay to be taken out into the jungle for tours to see wildlife that showed up in our yard with no effort. The road to matopalo is rough - can’t be passed without 4wd. I wish we’d had higher suspension in ours but we managed. Stop at the bakery and the BM supermarket in PJ for food and stock up. There is no reason to return to PJ during your stay at Andy’s if you have enough food/drinks. Bring coconut oil for your legs to prevent sand fleas (this applies to all Costa Rica) deet also works but natural is better. I would call the experience *top notch glamping* you’re really outdoors and one with nature the whole time. Unbelievable surroundings with a bed and pillows, hot running water and a working range. Perfect for my family who’s used to campervan camping. Backwash bay was perfect for swimming. Andy’s place was perfect for watching surfers, sunrises and sunsets. Keep an eye out for bioluminescence after sunset!! & THE SWING AH!

We stayed in a hard studio, the last one at the end of the grounds, not in a bungalow. Everything is perfect, A/C, tv, nice bathroom, comfortable bed, fridge, coffee maker. Not big but quiet, with nature and a terrace for morning coffee.

Indigenous Art Center

Volmar and Rosa were lovely people. We enjoyed painting and learning and participating in the process of making chocolate. We don’t speak Spanish so that was somewhat challenging. We stayed in the cabin which was right next to Volmar’s house so very convenient. The bathroom is outside down a few stairs with a typical cold shower but the beds were comfortable. I would recommend staying with this nice family and learning some of the traditions. We were only there one day and two nights so staying longer would be more educational.
