House vacation rentals in Costa Rica

Dean was very helpful in terms of check in and any needs we had during the stay. His place was beautiful in a very quiet, private community just a few steps to the beach. The view from the porch was amazing! Highly recommend Deans home.

Due to an unfortunate issue with our original place to stay, we had to make a last minute pivot. We were so grateful to have found Richard’s place and his incredible hospitality. This place is toward the north part of the town, so it felt much less crowded and it was particularly quiet at night. All we heard were the waves and an occasional lizard on the roof! 😂 We cooked most of our meals at the property, and the kitchen setup worked great. The instant beach access was amazing, and the ability to come back and relax in the hammocks and at the table/couch area in the shade was also a giant perk. Maria cleaned the place each day, which was also a bonus and an example of their wonderful care. It’s located beside a cafe, which does mean more people nearby at times, but it also means quick access to food/drink. Aside from the first evening when a DJ was playing at the cafe (Sunday funday!), it was a quiet and peaceful place to relax and enjoy a beautiful location. Many thanks!

The house and property were as described and expected and we were extremely happy with our stay! We were specifically looking for something outside of the typical tourist spots and Gary’s place did not disappoint. Gary specifically stated that the mosquito population at his house was low and he was absolutely right! Just a few tips and recommendations for other potential visitors. - The kayaks must be taken down the hill to the beach for each use for security reasons. We hesitated to use them until our last day for this reason but we wish we hadn’t. Gary made it very easy and he took them down on his car. It’s an easy paddle to some snorkeling and nice beach areas. You can avoid paying for parking and hauling gear. - there is a public road between the pool area and beach where locals like to park and hang out. Shrubbery gives visual privacy but you may hear music. This did not detract from our stay. Overall we absolutely recommend this house to others.

We LOVED Patricia's place. it took us awhile to get used to the heat as we arrived from Canada. The property is so beautiful and well maintained. The house was clean and had everything we needed. Everyday we saw new animals. We saw all 4 species of monkeys right outside our door! We also saw Toucans, Macaws, agouti, Coati and a Tayra all on the property in 5 days. I would absolutely recommend Patricias place and hope to return one day :)

El lugar es hermoso, amplio, lleno de árboles y tiene un rancho para pasar un rato fresco y agradable. La casa hermosa, con lindos acabados rústicos, está bien equipada. Luís siempre responde las dudas. Volvería sin dudarlo.

Estuve hospedado junto a mi familia por varias noches y tuvimos una estadía increíble, la pasamos muy a gusto en todo sentido, la casa es justo como se describe, con espacios sumamente cómodos y una limpieza impecable, está muy cerca de sitios como restaurantes, farmacias, bancos, supermercados pero a la vez guarda esa privacidad que se busca a la hora de alquilar usualmente, en cuanto a Jaime en todo momento desde el primer contacto fue muy atento, siempre anuente a brindar recomendaciones y a escuchar algunas solicitudes que tuvimos, definitivamente recomiendo el lugar y sin duda me volvería a hospedar.

La casa es preciosa, tal cual se ve en las fotos, es una zona tranquila, la atención por parte de los anfitriones fue excelente, siempre obtuvimos una respuesta rápida a nuestras consultas, todo muy limpio, las instrucciones para el acceso muy claras, todo funcionaba perfecto, la recomiendo 100%, la pasamos muy bien!

La casa es muy linda y cuenta con todo lo necesario para pasarla muy bien. Cerca del Automercado y con mucha seguridad. Peggy siempre muy atenta a nuestra llegada y a cualquier cosa que necesitáramos. Fijo es un lugar al que vamos a volver.

Casa Peces is well maintained and comfortable. The home is spacious and the neighborhood was peaceful. The pool was perfect. It was very easy to communicate with both Martha and Jessica. I would absolutely stay at Casa Peces again on a future trip!

The place was amazing!! Rotem and Lior let us know absolutely everything we could need to know prior to check in. They responded when we had questions very fast. When we needed new towels, we went out to eat and came back to new towels folded nicely on the table. I can’t recommend this place more.

We absolutely loved our stay here!! It was our favourite Airbnb and the only mistake we made is not booking it longer. It was also the comfiest bed we slept in all week! Norwin went above and beyond to make our honeymoon special!! We loved it. There was so much to do it was an incredible space and we were sad to leave it! We appreciate all the recommendations from Norwin, he was an incredible host! The hot water was also a bonus ! We loved the pool perfect place to cool down and soooo many games ! I would not hesitate to come back just to stay here!! The only rec I would have is earplugs if you’re a light sleeper as the walls are a little thin, although usually a very quiet peaceful neighbourhood!

This is truly a one of a kind (maybe even lifetime!) experience of a place to stay. Where else can you walk out of the pool and directly into the kitchen, living room or dining room? And get fresh air and breezes right into the house? We were a little worried that without AC in the main part of the house it would be uncomfortably hot. It was not an issue at all. Somehow the breezes blow in, the fans kept the air moving, and it felt so nice to hear the birds and not be stuck inside! It was also a very walkable 10-15 min into town, but note that Costa Rica is not big on sidewalks, so you do need to contend with traffic, scooters, and other walkers. But everyone does it, and makes you feel like a local! Down on the street is a place called Zolu, that makes amazing made to order food. You will sit outside and wait a bit but it was the best food we had and very reasonably priced.

We really loved this house! It's so beautiful! The glass walls with a nature view was amazing! 5 star stay for sure! My kids loved the pool and the neighbors puppies, they didnt want to leave. We enjoyed cooking and having breafast on the outdoor table to take in all the nature. The road to the house is long and curvy, but it was also really cool. The only downside is the nature trails are all straight up the mountain so they werent an easy walk. But overall we loved the stay and would come back!

We have stayed with Gil many times over the past four years, and it’s always our favorite place! The home is private, has a beautiful view, and is conveniently close to shopping and restaurants. On this visit, we really noticed and appreciated all the recent improvements: A new water system with stable, strong pressure TV with 1000+ channels in the living room Surround sound in both the bedroom and living room New patio furniture A comfortable sofa in the master bedroom A new mirror in the master bathroom A professional-grade juice maker Fresh paint and repairs throughout Gil’s care and attention to the property really show. We always look forward to returning!

„Danke für die schöne Zeit! Das Appartement entsprach genau der Beschreibung. Es war gut ausgestattet und bot einen wunderbaren Pool sowie eine atemberaubende Aussicht auf das Meer. Der perfekte Ort, um bei einem Frühstück zu entspannen und den Vögeln zuzusehen. Der Sonnenuntergang war nur 10 Minuten zu Fuß entfernt – einfach fantastisch! Bei Rückfragen war die Kommunikation sehr schnell und freundlich. Es war wirklich alles vorhanden, was man brauchte. Sehr zu empfehlen!“

Wow! We had a great time at Tavi’s home— comfortable furnishings, well stocked kitchen, and a beautiful view amid flowers and with the sweet songs of birds. The owners were so kind to provide information on the area, which was super helpful. We enjoyed so much the delicious food and experience at Casa Italia, we enjoyed it twice. The German restaurant also has a yummy breakfast. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Christophers place was beautiful. It was steps away from a beautiful beach. The surroundings made you feel relaxed. We even saw a Toucan in one of the trees by the poolside. Christopher was nice enough to come find me since my GPS/internet didn't work and guided me to the house. I will definitely book again when I return to Costa Rica!

Jessica was super responsive! like 10m from the best beaches in the zone!

Natacha was great and amazing with us !! She communicated well with us and helped us arrange anything we wanted to do or looking for. If we needed information about anything she was always accommodating us. She did not come back with just one recommendation but several. Always checking in on how we were doing, and if everything was OK, or if we needed anything. La Casa Del Mango was very clean and well organized. The amenities, awesome, well stocked with everything you would need. This whole place is amazing. Oh !! did I mention the pool, amazing. Oh !! did I mention Martin (Natacha husband) super nice, also amazing, Oh !! did I mention the wildlife, amazing. I can keep on going, and going, about La Casa Del Mango in a positive direction but I will end this review with saying that La casa definitely deserves 5 stars out of 5. Nope !!!! no negatives from our family vacation, would recommend to anyone.

We had such an incredible stay at casa blanco in hatillo. It way the perfect home away from home. The host was very responsive and accommodating. We traveled with 3 kids. 8yrs, 5yrs, and 8 months. They provided us with a crib and a high chair for the baby at no extra cost. The pool was the perfect size for our kids to play in and felt safe. The house is very secluded and felt super safe. We loved the town. We liked walking down the hill to the mini mart and getting pizza at pizza surf time. The kitchen also has AC which we weren’t expecting but we were happy to have it. The house is just a short drive to Dominical. It was a perfect stay and I highly recommend!

I can not recommend Angel’s Villa (in the Villas of Punta Uva) enough. The home itself was beautiful, spotless, and comfortable. The house is situated in such a lush area that is beautifully landscaped and maintained. It is in a small community of 5 houses, but Angel’s Villa was very private and quiet, and so surrounded by foliage that you couldn’t really see it from the parking area. There was also a locked gate, so it felt very safe. Linh was very responsive to my many questions about the area and was helpful in suggesting activities, restaurants, etc. Both she and her husband were very friendly and made us feel right at home (her husband even went above and beyond, spending about an hour pulling my rental car out of a ditch😬). The area: Punta Uva Beach is a short five minute walk from the house. Puerto Viejo, the nearest town, is about 5 miles north. There, we found many boutiques/souvenir shops, and a plethora of amazing restaurants. This was a 10/10 find!!
